On Monday, the country superstar remembered her former stepson with a comment underneath an Instagram tribute shared by her son Shelby Blackstock. 'Very well said Shelby. Yes we will miss him so much,' the singer, 73, wrote alongside various red heart and broken heart emojis. Shelby posted a tribute to his late brother the day after Brandon's death. 'Words cannot begin to capture the tremendous loss our family has endured. Yesterday, we lost a brother, a father, a grandfather, and a son,' he wrote in his caption alongside throwback photos with his half brother. 'Brandon Blackstock was an irreplaceable part of our family—funny, bright, and full of life—and he will be deeply missed.' McEntire was previously married to Brandon's father Narvel Blackstock from 1989 to 2015. Brandon — the ex-husband of Kelly Clarkson, with whom he shared two young children — died of melanoma cancer at the age of 48 on August 7. The day before his death was announced, Clarkson canceled her Las Vegas residency and revealed that her ex had been 'ill.'

Reba McEntire 's son Shelby Blackstock has shared a heartbreaking post in honor of his half-brother Brandon who passed away on Thursday at the age of 48. The former talent manager died following a three-year cancer battle with melanoma — and is the ex-husband of singer Kelly Clarkson. The pair were married from 2013 until 2022, and also welcomed two children: River, 11, and Remington, nine. One day before his shock death was confirmed, Kelly postponed the remainder of her Las Vegas residency concerts in August and explained 'my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.' Brandon is the son of Narvel Blackstock and Elisa Gayle Ritter. Narvel was later married to Reba from 1989 through 2015 — and they welcomed son Shelby together. The race car driver penned an emotional tribute to Brandon on Friday alongside an assortment of throwback photos. 'Words cannot begin to capture the tremendous loss our family has endured. Yesterday, we lost a brother, a father, a grandfather, and a son,' Shelby wrote. 'Brandon Blackstock was an irreplaceable part of our family — funny, bright, and full of life — and he will be deeply missed.' Shelby then opened up the close bond he had with his late half-brother and said he had 'taught me so much, leaving behind countless cherished memories that I will hold onto forever. 'For every treasured moment we shared, there are so many more we'll never get to make together, but I know you'll still be there. Every hunt, every flight, and in the everyday moments of life, I'll feel your presence.' He added, 'And although it may annoy you, you'll have to watch me do it all just a little better, a little smoother, and — let's be honest — looking far more handsome than you ever could in the process. 'We will always miss you, Brandon, and we will never stop loving, remembering and celebrating you,' Shelby concluded. He included a variety of photos in the post, with some showing Shelby and Brandon posing for pictures together. One was taken as the pair shared an embrace while others showed Brandon with his family as well as Reba. Another image was snapped as Brandon rode a horse outside while also sipping on a can of beer. Just five months before his death, Brandon was seen posing for a photo with his former stepmom Reba. He could be seen joining the actress at the Houston Rodeo and sported a denim jacket as well as blue jeans and a patterned shirt. While Reba has yet to break silence on Brandon's death, the singer had remained close to him as well as Narvel's other two children following their divorce. 'Brandon's been my son forever it seems,' she told Entertainment Tonight back in 2021. 'Although he's my stepson, I still love him like he's my total — my blood.' And in 2010, Reba told The Boot, 'I don't consider Brandon, Chassidy and Shawna stepchildren. I claim them all.' As a result, Brandon's ex-wife Kelly was her daughter-in-law for nearly a decade, and the two have remained good friends in spite of the pair's bitter divorce. Reba McEntire's son Shelby Blackstock, biz partner to build 'age in' Wilson County homes
Wilson County commissioners have approved a plan to build an "age in" community with up to 435 homes on land once owned by Reba McEntire and now being developed by the entertainer's son. Shelby Blackstock, the son of McEntire and her ex-husband Narvel Blackstock, is a partner in the development being called Cumberland Oaks. The County Commission recently approved two variances to move the project forward. Shelby Blackstock and business partner Austin Recht make up B&R Lebanon Investments, which now owns the property. "This is my home, this is not a normal development for us," Blackstock said to commissioners. "I wanted to come in and do something very, very special." Cumberland Oaks will be built on approximately 407 acres on Bates Road, Estes Road and Chalford Place near the Sumner County line, Cumberland River and State Route 109. The design has a variety of building plans that will include starter homes, step-up homes and homes to downsize that can allow residents to transition at different life stages within the neighborhood, said Caleb Thorne of RaganSmith, representing the developers. As proposed, approximately 58% of the Cumberland Oaks site will remain open land that could have a variety of opportunities, Thorne said. There will also be a wide variety of home styles and sizes. A marina clubhouse that could act as a bed and breakfast is also part of the plan, Thorne said. McEntire and Narvel Blackstock purchased the property in the early 1990s "when it was just a thicket hunting land," Shelby Blackstock said, addressing commissioners. The partnership declined further comment. Cumberland Oaks is planned as a "destination community," Thorne said. "It's something new for Wilson County." Wilson County commissioners approved a rezone and Planned Unit Development back in November. However, two variance requests that were not approved needed revisions and went back to county commissioners in February. Both variances were approved, one that increased a request for a minimum building separation to 20 feet and another that addressed minimum lot size. The vote to approve the rezone in November was 18-6, with some concerns expressed about spillover traffic to nearby State Route 109 and Coles Ferry Pike. McEntire and Narvel Blackstock previously lived in Wilson County near the Cumberland Oaks property in a home now used as a wedding and events venue just off Highway 109.
