Shelby Blackstock's brother Brandon Blackstock's heartbreaking cause of death revealed
Brandon Blackstock died at 48 years old. Death cause was skin Cancer (Melanoma). He died at his home in Butte, Montana on August 7, 2025. Silver Bow County Coroner Dan Hollis confirmed the news and said Brandon died in hospice care surrounded by his family.
The bummer news to the tragic story comes after one day his ex-wife Kelly Clarkson declared she was stopping her Las Vegas shows to be with their children.

Coroner Dan Hollis told People magazine that Brandon Douglas Blackstock 'passed away peacefully at his home in Butte, Montana on August 7th under hospice care surrounded by his family.' The coroner confirmed the cause was melanoma, which Brandon had been fighting for over three years.

A statement from the family said,
'Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time.'
On August 6, 2025, Kelly Clarkson posted on Instagram that she was postponing the rest of her August Studio Sessions in Las Vegas. She wrote,
'While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.'
The couple share two children, River Rose Blackstock, 11, and Remington Alexander Blackstock, 9.
