Eddie Murphy to Play Inspector Clouseau in a New "Pink Panther" Movie
Yara Sameh As if Eddie Murphy wasn't already synonymous with iconic franchises, the veteran actor revealed that he'd soon be taking on the famed role of Inspector Clouseau in a new "Pink Panther" movie. He was first reported to be circling the role in 2023. Speaking to Today's Al Roker , Murphy said he had initially 'planned on slowing down, and things just happened' with regard to his slate of upcoming projects. 'I'm getting ready to do a [biopic of] George Clinton, [his music collective] Parliament-Funkadelic. I'm getting ready to do George Clinton,' The Pickup star said, confirming Deadline's scoop last year. 'I've already started Shrek 5. And I'm going to be — I'm Inspector Clouseau in the next Pink Panther.' When Roker reacted with surprise, asking if the canonically French character would still be written as such with Murphy occupying the role, the Saturday Night Live alum responded coyly: 'Maybe. Well, he has to be French, but he could also be Haitian. I will tell you, he's Black. He's Black, for sure.' Peter Sellers first originated the role of Inspector James Clouseau in 1963's "The Pink Panther", directed by Blake Edwards, an Italian and U.S. co-production about an inept detective who must stop a notorious jewel thief aiming to steal the precious Pink Panther diamond. The farcical character is a parody of Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot, and has been portrayed in various sequels by Alan Arkin, Roger Moore and, most recently, Steve Martin in the 2006 reboot and subsequent 2009 sequel. Also known simply as the Inspector, the character additionally appeared in various animated series featuring the anthropomorphic Pink Panther. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results

Lifesize Shrek cake made by Walsall baker donated to food banks
A baker was watched by millions of viewers on social media making a life-size model of Shrek, which she then cut up and donated to food Mason has previously made cake replicas of superstar Taylor Swift, Deadpool, and the Grinch, winning praise from actors like Ryan Reynolds and Jim Walsall baker has now recreated the popular ogre, standing at over 6.5ft (1.98m) tall, which was carefully sculpted in 40 hours over a period of four was made out of chocolate ganache and 50 layers of vanilla cake, with Ms Mason joking: "Even ogres have layers." Ms Mason, whose company is called Lara Cakes, usually bakes her own sponge for her creations, but with the time it takes to craft the models, this can sometimes lead to the cake becoming stale."In order to keep this cake fresh so it could be donated, we asked a bakery close by to bake the cake for us in bulk," she told the BBC. "That's a lot of cake."She has been making cakes for more than 13 years but said she has never made a cake this tall and wide in such a short time scale before and had to stand on ladders to do a lot of the decorating."So that was a real challenge," she after seeing the teasers for the new Shrek 5 film, which will be released next year, she said she knew she had to try and recreate it. To make Shrek's face, Ms Mason covered it in chocolate ganache, which she used to sculpt the ogre's distinctive she was shocked to discover the summer heatwave had caused the face to fall off overnight."That was an absolute fail," she said. "The face was far too heavy, and the ganache was far too soft, so I had to start all over again with that, and I used kebab skewers just to give the cake something to grip onto."I really was ready to give up when the face fell off as I was against the clock to get it finished, but I persevered and managed to finish bang on schedule."Knowing the cake was going to a good cause, I wanted to put my all into it, so I worked extra hard to get it finished." Videos of her building the cake have been seen by nearly six million people across social media, and once she had shot all of her footage, the cake was cut up and delivered to local food banks to be enjoyed."Walsall North Food Bank in Pelsall and Cannock and District Food Bank in Chadsmoor were more than happy to take a big delivery of yummy cake," she said. Murphy, Davidson deliver laughs together
Actor-comedians Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson team up for The Pickup, a heist film that sees them sparring as a pair of incompatible armoured truck drivers, reports Reuters. Starring opposite Murphy, 64, was "a bucket list thing" for Davidson, 31, who had admired Murphy's work since he was seven. Unlike their characters, the two had much in common. "Pete comes from SNL. He's a standup comic. We're both from the East Coast," said Murphy. "I love to get into a scene with somebody else that's funny, improvise with them and start playing, I love it." On a routine round of cash pickups, Murphy's Russell and Davidson's Travis get targeted by criminals. Things get personal when Travis discovers that the thieves are led by his one-night-stand from the night before, played by Keke Palmer, and the life of Russell's hot-headed wife, played by Eva Longoria, comes under threat. The duo must pull together to save the day. The script, by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider, served as their blueprint and director Tim Story encouraged them to go off it, the two said. "We would do one as written and then Tim and everyone was like, 'Just go nuts' and we would end up just trying to one-up each other, we were just trying to make each other laugh," said Davidson. "They were improvising constantly and it was really sweet to see. It's so cool because you see two different generations," added Palmer. The generational differences also seeped into the scenes, with the fighting taking its toll on Russell's body. "Usually in these types of movies or my early movies like the 'Beverly Hills Cop' and 48 Hrs., I was the young maverick and now I'm the older guy," said Murphy. The Pickup starts streaming on Prime Video on August 6. As per Variety, Murphy's next big screen project is reprising his role as Donkey in Shrek 5. He's also signed on for a Donkey spin-off, which he'll start filming in September, according to Screenrant.

Why Zendaya was forced to put her wedding to Tom Holland on hold
Zendaya and her fiancé Tom Holland have been forced to delay their wedding, according to her trusted 'image architect' Law Roach. 'The process hasn't even started yet,' the 47-year-old stylist updated E! News. 'Zendaya is working on so many movies. She's now filming the next iteration of Dune, so she's away doing that. It's so many movies, so we have time. We have a lot of time.' Indeed, the in-demand couple are co-starring in Destin Daniel Cretton's superhero flick Spider-Man: Brand New Day as well as Christopher Nolan 's big-screen adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey next year. The 28-year-old bride-to-be has her hands full shooting Denis Villeneuve's fantasy flick Dune: Part Three, Kristoffer Borgli's romantic dramedy The Drama, DreamWorks animated movie Shrek 5, and the third season of HBO Max's drama Euphoria. Zendaya (last name Coleman) has also signed on to produce and star as singer Ronnie Spector in Barry Jenkins' biopic Be My Baby, which is based on her 2022 memoir. Meanwhile, the 29-year-old groom teamed up with Austin Butler to portray the Whittington Brothers in Amazon MGM Studios' race car driving biopic called American Speed penned by Dan Wiedenhaupt. Law teased that the two-time Emmy winner and Tom's nuptials might happen next year, gushing: 'I'm really excited because I know that they really love each other and they have for a really long time.' The Challengers producer-star first sparked engagement rumors at the Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills on January 6 while rocking a Jessica McCormack-designed diamond sparkler estimated to cost $500K. The very next day, TMZ reported that Holland had 'got down on one knee' and popped the question 'between Christmas and New Year's Eve' at Zendaya's family home in Oakland, CA: 'It was romantic and not over the top.' The London-born Englishman told Men's Health at the time: 'When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore. [It'll just be] golf and dad. And I will just disappear off the face of the earth.' The Oakland-born beauty and Tom were rumored to be a couple as far back as 2017 while promoting Spider-Man, but they finally confirmed the romance in 2021 with a long kiss in his $125K Audi sports car outside her mother's Silver Lake home. Zendaya and Holland were last pictured together getting coffee in Iverness, Scotland on July 13 while on break from filming The Odyssey. The BERO founder has taken on the role of Telemachus, the son of Greek king of Ithaca Odysseus, played by Matt Damon. The former Disney Channel star is rumored to be playing the Greek goddess Athena, who serves as divine counselor to Odysseus and meddles with gods like her father Zeus in his quest to return home. The 28-year-old bride-to-be has her hands full shooting Denis Villeneuve's fantasy flick Dune: Part Three, Kristoffer Borgli's romantic dramedy The Drama, DreamWorks animated movie Shrek 5, and the third season of HBO Max's drama Euphoria Law teased that Zendaya and Tom's nuptials might happen next year, gushing: 'I'm really excited because I know that they really love each other and they have for a really long time' (pictured July 17) The very next day, TMZ reported that Holland had 'got down on one knee' and popped the question 'between Christmas and New Year's Eve' at Zendaya's family home in Oakland, CA: 'It was romantic and not over the top' Zendaya could also be playing Calypso, a nymph who keeps Odysseus captive by force on her island Ogygia for seven years while attempting to make him her immortal husband. There's also a chance the Dune: Part Two action star could be playing Nausicaä, the beautiful daughter of King Alcinous who helps Odysseus when he's shipwrecked on her island. Principal photography officially began February 25, and filming is also expected to take place in Greece, Morocco, and the United Kingdom. The Universal Pictures 'mythic action epic shooting across the world using brand new IMAX film technology' is already scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2026. Oscar winner Anne Hathaway is rumored to be playing Odysseus' wife, Queen of Ithica Penelope, whom he's eager to reunite with following a perilous journey back home. And Oscar winner Charlize Theron is said to be playing the witch goddess Circe in the 3K-year-old fantastical tale full of sirens and a cyclops. The Odyssey ensemble cast also includes Lupita Nyong'o, Robert Pattinson, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Elliot Page, Samantha Morton, Will Yun Lee, and Mia Goth.

Law Roach Gives Update on Zendaya and Tom Holland's Wedding
Zendaya and Tom Holland have always kept their relationship (mostly) out of the spotlight. They've only walked a handful of red carpets together, rarely pose for photos as a couple, and had the most casually glamorous engagement announcement of all time. Needless to say, I doubt we'll be hearing much about their upcoming wedding—but thanks to their Zendaya's longtime stylist and friend Law Roach, fans finally have a Zendaya and Tom Holland wedding update. Before you do too much rejoicing, however, you should know that the update there is no update. 'The process hasn't even started yet,' Law told E! News when asked about the wedding. 'Zendaya is working on so many movies. She's now filming the next iteration of Dune, so she's away doing that. It's so many movies, so we have time. We have a lot of time.' Given Law's wedding update, it sounds like Zendaya and Tom are either planning a long engagement, keeping their wedding plans super under wraps, or getting married soon and using Law to keep the press away—three entirely plausible options. And to be fair to the couple, if there's one thing that we know for sure, it's that they are both booked and busy. As Law mentioned, Zendaya is currently in Europe filming Dune: Part Three, and in the coming year she'll be promoting Shrek 5, Euphoria season 3, and The Odyssey, in which Tom also stars. And on top of that, they'll both be back on set together to film Spider-Man: Brand New Day, currently in pre-production. Okay, so no big wedding anytime soon. But what about the dress? Asked what kind of bride Zendaya might be, Law responded, 'a secret bride.' Clearly, Z's longtime stylist knows how to keep a secret, so don't expect any wedding details from him. He did, however, gush over the couple. 'I'm really excited because I know that they really love each other and they have for a really long time,' he told E! News. 'The fact that the world has been able to share in that love story, I think it's really beautiful.'
