Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 begins tomorrow
Mysuru, Aug 10 (UNI) The much-anticipated fourth edition of the Shriram Capital Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 powered by FanCode is set to commence tomorrow at the Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar Cricket Stadium in Mysuru.
The tournament will be conducted behind closed doors, with all 34 matches scheduled at the venue through August 28.
The season kicks off with an exciting double-header as the Gulbarga Mystics take on the Mangaluru Dragons at 3:15 pm. The Mystics, who reached the semifinals last year, are looking to begin strongly, while Mangaluru aim to bounce back after finishing last in the previous edition. R Smaran, Gulbarga's top-order batsman and a recent standby for the South Zone Duleep Trophy squad, expressed optimism about the season opener, highlighting the team's mix of experience and youth.
The evening fixture will feature a repeat of last year's final, with defending champions Mysore Warriors clashing against Bengaluru Blasters at 7:15 pm. Bengaluru allrounder Shubhang Hegde said the team enters the tournament with confidence and clarity, having strategically filled key positions during the auction.
The action continues on August 12, with Hubli Tigers facing Shivamogga Lions at 3:15 pm, followed by Mysore Warriors versus Gulbarga Mystics at 7:15 pm.
The league stage will proceed until August 25, followed by the playoffs which include Qualifier I, the Eliminator, Qualifier II, and culminating in the final on August 28. The top four teams at the end of the league phase will advance to the knockout rounds. Match timings remain consistent, with the first game starting at 3:15 pm and the second at 7:15 pm daily.
Teams participating in this edition are Mysore Warriors, Bengaluru Blasters, Hubli Tigers, Gulbarga Mystics, Shivamogga Lions, and Mangaluru Dragons, each boasting a strong squad aimed at claiming the prestigious title.
