Mysuru, Aug 10 (UNI) The much-anticipated fourth edition of the Shriram Capital Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 powered by FanCode is set to commence tomorrow at the Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar Cricket Stadium in Mysuru. The tournament will be conducted behind closed doors, with all 34 matches scheduled at the venue through August 28. The season kicks off with an exciting double-header as the Gulbarga Mystics take on the Mangaluru Dragons at 3:15 pm. The Mystics, who reached the semifinals last year, are looking to begin strongly, while Mangaluru aim to bounce back after finishing last in the previous edition. R Smaran, Gulbarga's top-order batsman and a recent standby for the South Zone Duleep Trophy squad, expressed optimism about the season opener, highlighting the team's mix of experience and youth. The evening fixture will feature a repeat of last year's final, with defending champions Mysore Warriors clashing against Bengaluru Blasters at 7:15 pm. Bengaluru allrounder Shubhang Hegde said the team enters the tournament with confidence and clarity, having strategically filled key positions during the auction. The action continues on August 12, with Hubli Tigers facing Shivamogga Lions at 3:15 pm, followed by Mysore Warriors versus Gulbarga Mystics at 7:15 pm. The league stage will proceed until August 25, followed by the playoffs which include Qualifier I, the Eliminator, Qualifier II, and culminating in the final on August 28. The top four teams at the end of the league phase will advance to the knockout rounds. Match timings remain consistent, with the first game starting at 3:15 pm and the second at 7:15 pm daily. Teams participating in this edition are Mysore Warriors, Bengaluru Blasters, Hubli Tigers, Gulbarga Mystics, Shivamogga Lions, and Mangaluru Dragons, each boasting a strong squad aimed at claiming the prestigious title. The opening day on August 11 will see Gulbarga Mystics take on Mangaluru Dragons in the afternoon fixture, followed by defending champions Mysore Warriors facing last year's runners-up Bengaluru Blasters in a highly anticipated evening clash. Double-header action will continue throughout the league phase, culminating in the play-offs from August 26 and the final on August 28. Mysuru has always been a rich catchment area for Karnataka cricket, and it is great to see T20 cricket return to Mysuru. It's called the Maharaja Trophy, so it is a fitting venue." The second encounter on the opening day will feature a marquee clash between defending champions Mysore Warriors and Bengaluru Blasters, a repeat of the previous edition's final. Hubli Tigers will begin their campaign on August 12, taking on Shivamogga Lions in the first of the day's double-headers. Announcing the full schedule on Tuesday, organisers said that all 34 matches—including league games and knockouts—will be played at the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium, with daily double-headers promising continuous T20 action. The play-offs will commence on August 26, with Qualifier I and the Eliminator slated for the same day. Qualifier II will be held on August 27, followed by the grand finale on August 28. Afternoon fixtures will start at 3:15 PM and evening games at 7:15 PM. The six-franchise tournament will feature several prominent names from Indian domestic cricket.
