United end pre-season with penalty shoot-out win over Fiorentina
Manchester United defeated Italian side Fiorentina on penalties after a 1-1 draw in their final pre-season friendly at Old Trafford on Sohm gave the visitors the lead early on with a fine unmarked volley from a corner before Robin Gosens scored an own goal past former United goalkeeper David de Gea to level the scores midway through the a quiet second period, and four successful penalties from each team, Altay Bayindir saved from Fabiano Parisi and Kobbie Mainoo smashed home to give the Red Devils the signings Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko were presented to the Old Trafford Crowd with the Mbeumo and Cunha both starting the match.

Done deal: Fiorentina have everything in place for Sohm transfer
Simon Sohm will become a new Fiorentina player, as La Viola have everything in place with Parma and on personal terms with the one-cap Switzerland international. As Football Italia reported earlier this week, Fiorentina have been pursuing a deal for Parma midfielder Sohm. Fiorentina's interest dates back to July 7, but have reached a breakthrough after Parma agreed to drop their initial asking price for the 24-year-old. Now, just shy of a month after Sohm was initially offered to the Viola, everything appears to be in place for his permanent transfer. Sohm himself will sign a multi-year contract worth €1.2m per season in wages, plus bonuses. The documents needed to formally complete the transfer are now being exchanged, and visits for medicals and contract signings are expected to take place within the next 48 hours.

Fiorentina set to sign Parma's Simon Sohm
Serie A side Fiorentina are now set to sign Parma midfielder Simon Sohm, who was being pursued for weeks. FirenzeViola report that the deal has been finalised and Sohm was the main target for Fiorentina since June. The transfer will be done for a fee of €15 million this summer and the exchange of documents is expected to be done by the weekend. After that, final agreements will take place and medical will be done. Friday evening has proved key in talks as an agreement was reached between Fiorentina and Parma. It remains to be seen if Fiorentina sign another midfielder, with Nicolo Fagioli still at La Viola and Stefano Pioli considering the idea of using Sohm in an advanced role from next season onwards.
