San Francisco drag queens unleash Christian fury for woke Easter show featuring 'Hunky Jesus' and 'Foxy Mary' contests
A 'blasphemous' group of drag queens has ignited outrage among Christians with their annual transgender Easter event, which included children's activities and a controversial 'hunky Jesus' contest — just one day before the world mourned the death of Pope Francis. The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a self-proclaimed 'order of queer and trans nuns,' hosted their 'No Easter without the T' event to honor 'our trans brothers and sisters who are under siege' on Easter Sunday, according to organizers. An Easter egg hunt, relay games and story times for children were among the morning offerings at the controversial celebration at Dolores Park in San Francisco, California. But the day's main event was the Hunky Jesus contest, which garnered a raucous crowd of about 10,000 people. ' Donald Trump ' took center stage at the annual contest, with top contestants in drag brutally mocking the president. One gay man, calling himself 'F**k Donald Trump Jesus', openly mock-humped a Trump doll as revelers cheered him on. He placed runner-up in the jaw-dropping competition. A contestant named 'Cowboy Carter Jesus' was declared the winner, waving a gay pride flag from atop a giant, glittery buffalo - a take on Beyonce 's latest incarnation as a country singer. In his victory speech, he took a political shot at the administration, while decrying the 'right wing supremacists' he said are threatening the trans community. 'If we were more like Jesus and less like Christian nationalists, our country wouldn't be as f**ked up as it is now,' Cowboy Carter Jesus - a 19-year-old whose real name is Wesley Walker - exclaimed to the boisterous pro-LGBTQIA crowd. One of the sisters of the hosting order made an ill-timed drag attempt at Pope Francis, who passed away the following day on Easter Morning sparking worldwide mourning, with a painted white face and flowers adorning their papal tiara. There was also a Foxy Mary contest, during which bikini-wearing Mother Marys flaunted pro-choice signs and other liberal sentiments. The event, featuring satirical takes on Jesus on the holiest day of the year for Christians, was organized by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a global nonprofit group of drag nuns founded in San Francisco on Easter 46 years ago. Organizers revealed their motives behind hosting the event. 'There is a full-on movement to erase trans people,' Sister Shalita Corndog, 46, one of the organizers, told 'This hatred is at a level equal or worse than that of the Third Reich,' he said, likening the Trump government to the leadership of Nazi Germany. 'Donald Trump and his administration is doing the same thing. We're moments away from extermination camps. America needs to wake up.' Jukie Sunshine, a 55-year-old queer woman wearing a pink fuzzy shawl and bonnet, told this is her favorite event of the year, and that 'this year is especially important for us to come out because we're fighting fascism together.' 'We're hear supporting trans rights and the rights of immigrants, and looking fabulous,' she added with a laugh, strolling through the park and enjoying the colorful costumes and camaraderie. With the smell of weed wafting through the air, Carol, a cis male sporting a beard and see-through pink dress, peddled alcohol from a stand. 'Jello shots for Jesus,' he called out, while also selling 'White Claws for Christ,' and Zinfandel cocktails he dubbed the 'Blood of Christ.' 'I hope he's impeached and thrown in prison,' Carol told of Trump, joining the masses in blasting the president. 'And I know a good prison in El Salvador. 'We can see the importance of community now more than ever,' he added. 'We're rallying together in support of trans people so they don't have to fight alone.' Sister T'aint A Virgin, a 46-year-old organizer wearing a pink wimple around his head, told that '10,000 people coming together in our park is a positive reflection of the work and commitment we all have. 'I think of us as holy fools, bringing light and levity to often blasphemous or controversial topics.' The event, featuring satirical takes on Jesus on the holiest day of the year for Christians, was hosted in protest of the Trump Administation's stance on the trans community, according to the hosting order Walker, the winner of the Hunky Jesus contest, told his father and grandfather were both Baptist ministers. 'Christ has been taken over by right-wing conservatives,' he said. 'The message they have is one of hate and intolerance. Jesus' message is one of tolerance and acceptable for all people.' Kyle Quinn, the 39-year-old dressed as 'F**k Donald Trump,' told that he was raised Catholic but has since abandoned his religion.' 'Trump stands for everything I'm against,' he said. 'Every time I watch the news these days, I say to myself, 'Jesus Christ, f**k Donald Trump.' That's the inspiration for my costume.' While the Hunky Jesus contest is welcomed in the liberal bastion of San Francisco, some on the right have called out the group for its 'sacrilege.' When the Los Angeles Dodgers recognized the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence for public service in 2023, then-US Sen Marco Rubio called out the group's Easter ceremony 'where adult performers dress in blasphemous imitation of Jesus and Mary.' The current Secretary of State also decried the group's hosting of pub crawls 'mocking the Stations of the Cross and even the Eucharist, the sacrament that unites more than one billion Catholics around the world.' Horrified Christians shared their thoughts on the event, which they described as distasteful. 'I doubt they would do this to those who are Muslim, would they?' one X user claimed. Some people were particularly concerned about the group catering to children. 'I am conservative. However, I do support freedom of speech. But these people should NOT aim at underage,' one man wrote on X. Another wrote: 'This is DISGRACEFUL AND DISGUSTING!!! Pandering to CHILDREN? This is just plain WRONG!!! I don't care what adults do, that's their own choice. To drag this into Easter Celebrations is wrong.' Libs of Tiktok, a conservative social media account, called out the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence for being hypocritical for inviting children while warning parents 'some may find the latter portion of the show inappropriate for young children.' 'They literally say that their show is inappropriate for children while still encouraging children to attend,' Libs of TikTok said. But event organizers weren't backing down from what they see as the real purpose of the festivities. 'I am not going to lie and pretend Hunky Jesus is not blasphemous,' Corndog admitted to 'But in that blasphemy is the mission of Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence – to expiate stigmatic and religious guilty. We use satire and humor to help show this.'

Drag queen group mocks Jesus, Christianity in Easter show marketed to kids
A San Francisco drag queen group called the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a self-professed "order of queer and trans nuns," is sparking controversy in the days leading up to their annual transgender Easter event. This year's event, which is being called "No Easter without the T," is meant to honor transgenderism and features a children's Easter egg hunt and a costume contest encouraging attendees to come dressed in drag as "Hunky Jesus and Foxy Mary." The event's invitation poster includes a depiction of a tattooed "Jesus" surrounded by men in drag. Pictures posted from the event in previous years include men dressed as Jesus in high heels, dresses and minimal clothing, and holding signs that say "can I get a gaymen?" and "Haus of Jesus." According to the group's website, past winners of the contest include "Barbie's Ken Jesus", "Historically Accurate Jesus," "Transgender Maria de Guadalupe," "Pro-Choice Mary" and "Black Woman as God." Flashback: Biden Proclaimed Trans Day Of Visibility In 2024 That Coincided With Easter Sunday Libs of Tiktok, a popular conservative social media account, slammed the event, especially calling attention to the drag group for encouraging children to attend while simultaneously admitting that "parents are advised that some may find the latter portion of the show inappropriate for young children." Read On The Fox News App "They literally say that their show is inappropriate for children while still encouraging children to attend," said Libs of TikTok. "Disgusting," commented Catholic Vote senior advisor Steve Cortes, adding, "The ruling class abides bigotry, as long as it's targeted against faithful Christians generally, & Catholics specifically." Pope Francis: 'Gender Ideology' Is One Of 'Most Dangerous Ideological Colonizations' Logan Church, political director of CatholicVote, told Fox News Digital the group is "disgusted, though sadly not surprised." "The so-called 'Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence' have made it their mission to mock Christianity with open hostility, and this blasphemous Easter event is just the latest example," he said. "This is not bold, it's not brave, and it's certainly not art. Its bigotry dressed in costume, and Americans are right to be outraged," he went on. "Let's be clear: Sacrilege is not a religion, and it is not protected under the banner of religious freedom. While we live in a country that defends free speech, that does not mean Christians are required to sit silently while our faith is ridiculed. We have every right, and every reason, to push back."Original article source: Drag queen group mocks Jesus, Christianity in Easter show marketed to kids
