Organisers are hoping that this "milestone" event will "build on the success of previous years" and bring the community together at a difficult time.
Discussing the event, Brett Herriot, chair of Pride Edinburgh, said it "comes at a time where many within the LGBTQIA+ community are under threat and persecution simply for being who and what they are."
He added that "standing together has never meant more" and that this gathering would be a "clear statement" to the world.
When is Edinburgh Pride 2025 taking place?
This year's Edinburgh Pride will take place on Saturday, June 21, with the attendees gathering for the march from around 12.15pm.
It will set off at around 1pm following the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence's minute of noise and minute of silence.
What is the route for Edinburgh Pride 2025?

Britain's Got Talent has one huge problem and it needs to change now

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info This year has flown by, we're almost in our sixth month of the year and we have spent most of our time watching Britain's Got Talent. This series of the show seems never-ending, and honestly after three months it feels like it has been quite investment of time to watch it every weekend. The 2025 series started on Saturday, February 22 and after weeks, and months of auditions and semi-finals, Britain's Got Talent's live final will air tonight, Saturday, May 31. Now, this is the longest ever duration for a season of the TV talent show since it first aired 18 years ago. The only exception here was in 2020, when the programme was split in to two halves from April-May and then August-October due to the COVID 19 pandemic. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter . This year marked a change in the series' formatting, as the live semi-finals were instead aired weekly, rather than all of the episodes spread across a week in an aim to increase excitement over time. Lily Wilson, the Commissioning Editor for Entertainment at ITV said: "We want to hit that family audience. Starting in February means we can build excitement over a longer period while making the live semi-finals a much bigger event." For some, this may be true and watching Britain's Got Talent is a weekly event where families gather around the telly and are excited for the moment 7pm comes around and they can watch their favourite talent competition. However, it looks like some people agree, with me like one X user who posted a meme saying "It's never gonna end" and alongside the gif they said, "Britain's Got Talent is still on tonight." Personally, I miss the golden days of BGT, when acts used to surprise us like Susan Boyle. You would never have guessed that she was going to wow the nation with a voice like that. Now, everything seems quite set up, and over produced, like you know exactly what is going to happen next. For example, nobody (myself included) believed that this year's contestant Max Fox wasn't planted in the audience. He performed a brilliant rendition of Frank Sinatra's My Way before receiving a golden buzzer and progressing straight through to the semi-final. Even if it wasn't set up, it sure felt set up and that's because now we are so used to "reality" TV being incredibly influenced by producers. You can read more here about Max's audition. (Image: ITV) Recently, there has also been outrage over the amount of singers progressing through to the final, with those watching the programme saying "this isn't X Factor or The Voice." I have to admit, part of me agrees with them, the whole point of Britain's Got Talent has always been about showcasing different talents and trying to earn a spot on the Royal Variety Performance, emphasis on the word 'Variety' there. I used to argue that it was a great way for alternative singers or younger singers to perform but with the addition of The Voice Kids this isn't really an excuse any more. You can read more about why people think it's fixed for singers here. Regardless, Britain's Got Talent still seems to be drawing in the fans as they are keen to watch the talented individuals perform on our screens every week. Some may be excited for the series to finally come to an end this weekend, and others may wish that the series had a few more weeks to go. After a long three months, this final will definitely be worth the watch as the ten impressive acts battle it out to see who will be the winner of Britain's Got Talent 2025, receive the cash prize of £250,000 and earn a coveted space at the Royal Variety Performance. You can watch the grand final tonight, Saturday, May 31. It will be available to watch live from 7pm on ITV1 and ITV X.

BGT's Simon Cowell 'sobbed down the phone' to co-star after heartbeaking news

BGT's Simon Cowell 'sobbed down the phone' to co-star after heartbeaking news Renowned pop-singer Sinitta has shared how Britain's Got Talent judge Simon Cowell broke down in tears during a phone call in the aftermath of a recent bereavement Simon Cowell 'sobbed down the phone' during a call with a co-star after hearing heartbreaking news (Image: GC Images ) So Macho singer Sinitta has opened up about her first phone call with Simon Cowell after the tragic death of One Direction singer Liam Payne last year. Simon and Liam developed a close bond after first meeting on the X Factor in 2008. Although Liam only made it as far as the Judges' Houses, the teenager returned in 2010 where he was placed into the boy band One Direction. ‌ Simon was joined by Sinitta in both 2008 and 2010 to watch Liam perform at the 65-year-old's home, first as a solo artist and then with One Direction, with the five youngsters making an instant impression on the pair. ‌ Sinitta had first Liam as he appeared in the judges houses stage of X-Factor (Image: Eamonn M. McCormack/Getty Images ) One Direction eventually finished in third place, losing out to eventual winner Matt Cardle, but the band continued to enjoy huge worldwide success in the years that followed under Simon's management However, despite the band's popularity continuing to rocket, they would eventually pursue solo careers. Tragically, in October last year, Liam fell to his death at a Buenos Aires hotel after flying out to watch former bandmate Niall Horan in concert. ‌ Now, during a recent interview with Best magazine, Sinitta opened up about the heartbreak of learning of Liam's death. She said: "You never expect anyone younger than you to die. All I could think about was Cheryl and Bear." Managing to put her own grief to one side, her thoughts turned to Simon, as she recalled speaking to the inconsolable judge: "Later that day I reached out to Simon, and he was devastated. I hadn't heard him so upset since his mum died. He sobbed down the phone to me - it was hard to know what to say. It was brave of him to go to that funeral and comfort Liam's parents." Liam first appeared on X-Factor in 2008 (Image: Getty Images for Atlantis The Royal ) ‌ Simon and Sinitta first met in 1983 when Sinitta, then thought to have been 20 at the time, became his first signing as a record boss. The pair would go on to have a 30-year love affair that saw the couple repeatedly make up and break up. In 2004, Sinitta made her first appearance on the X Factor when she joined Simon at the Judges' Houses stage. She joined Simon in rejecting Liam in 2008 and recommending that he came back to the show at a later date. Two years later, she joined Simon at the Judges Houses' phase once again and this time decided to progress Liam and his new bandmates, One Direction, to the next stage of the show. ‌ One Direction finished in third place in the seventh series of X-Factor (Image: PA ) After finding huge success on the show, the band saw their popularity sky-rocket in the years that followed before deciding to go their separate ways in 2016. But, whilst staying in Argentina in order to go and watch his former band mate, Niall Horan, in concert, Liam tragically fell to his death from the third-floor balcony of a Buenos Aires hotel. As the star's funeral in Amersham, Buckinghamshire followed, Simon was amongst the mourners as he was seen comforting Liam's parents, Geoff and Karen. The much-loved talent show will come to a close this evening (May 31) at 7 pm on ITV, as the remaining acts vie for a chance to claim the top prize.

Telford Pride returns after more than a decade

Telford Pride has returned to the Shropshire town after more than a event celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community is being held at The Three Furnaces bar on Saturday until 22:30 BST with live music, activities and cabaret. Kieron Morgan-Williams decided to bring back the event, feeling there was nowhere for the community to gather in the area. He said that the festival had taken a lot of planning but the stress "disappeared" when he saw everyone eating, having fun and singing along to songs. "At points I wanted to throw the towel in but I've had a decent team to be able to pull this off, if it wasn't for them we wouldn't be where we are today," he said. Mr Morgan-Williams has big plans for the future of Telford Pride like moving the festival to the town's arena along with holding a parade."I want to put Telford on the map."He said that everyone was welcome to attend the festival no matter their sexuality or identity."If they can all be in an arena and have fun, that's all I care about," he added.
