The heartbreaking reason Mysterious Girl singer Peter Andre became known as 'The Six Pack' in the 1990s: 'I never really told people'
Peter Andre has gotten candid about his chart-topping six pack and how he used his much-talked about physique to hide his insecurities. The Mysterious Girl hitmaker, 52, who is currently in Australia for the world premiere of his first feature film Jafaican, declined to show off his abs during a photo shoot on Wednesday and revealed the reason why. 'I used to get picked on a lot at school because I was Greek and had the big nose, the curly hair – I used to hate my nose,' he told The Advertiser. He went on to confess that he felt so deeply about the way he looked that he grew his hair long to hide his face and turned away when photos were taken. However, after he became known as 'The Six Pack', he realised there was another way to conceal his insecurities. 'I never really told people I used to train my a**e off so people would be looking at my body and wouldn't concentrate on my face' he said. When he was living in Los Angeles in his 20s, the singer stumbled upon a picture of a well-known actor and realised that was the nose he wanted. 'I took a picture of Robert Downey Jr. - along with a picture of my sister Debbie because she always had a perfect nose - to a surgeon and said "Can you do this?"' Andrea revealed. Now, since getting the operation, he has nothing to feel self-conscious about, keeping his shirt on ever since. 'I had the operation and he got rid of all the bits I hated' he explained. It comes after Peter came under fire for wearing dreadlocks and putting on a Jamaican accent in the Jafaican trailer, which he posted to his social media in April. The singer stars as lead character Gary Buckle in the crime-comedy which is set for release later this year. Gary, also known as Gazza, must master Jamaican culture in 21 days in order to execute a fraud in London and Jamaica and earn the £35,000 he needs to pay for his grandmother's care. Peter deleted his Tweet shortly after sharing the trailer after receiving the backlash as some fans questioned: 'Did I wake up in 1998?' 'Peter Andre starring as the lead character of a film called JAFAICAN where he's pretending to be a Jamaican and wearing a dreadlock wig is not something I was expecting to see in the year of our Lord 2025 but here we are...' 'There's a movie coming out with Peter Andre in a dreadlock wig pretending to be Jamaican. Is this really what we're doing in 2025?' 'Why on earth has YouTube just recommended me a trailer for a film starring Peter Andre about a man posing as a fake Jamaican? Did I wake up in 1998?' One fan noticed Peter had deleted his tweet in light of the negative response and asked: 'So Peter Andre deleted his tweet, does that mean Jafaican is being scrapped?' However the trailer didn't receive all negative comments after other social media users shared their excitement ahead of the film's release. Peter first posted the trailer on his Instagram as he announced: 'The OFFICIAL trailer for JAFAICAN has just dropped! Coming to cinemas soon….' Revealing his upcoming promo work for the film he confirmed the world premiere will be at the Gold Coast Film Festival on May 9 and teased that news on a UK premiere would be coming soon. Excited fans penned: 'Peter that looks amazing can't wait to see this brilliant'; 'Oh yes!!!! looking forward to this @peterandre can't wait'; 'I wish I could have watched this being filmed.'

Actor Unni Mukundan put out a note on Instagram, asking fans not to follow anything unhealthy that his character Marco does, particularly smoking. He posted a still of himself from the film, urging them to make a six-pack like him instead if they needed to 'feel man enough'. Here's what he said. For the unversed, Unni played a gangster called Marco in the 2024 film directed by Haneef Adeni. The film is a standalone spin-off of the 2019 film Mikhael, starring Nivin Pauly. While Marco features some characters from Mikhael, they're placed in a different universe and a different story. The film, touted to be one of the 'most violent films' made in India shows the titular character go on a rampage after the death of his foster brother.

Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan has urged his followers on Instagram to try being "the Marco with (a) six pack on hand" instead of being one to "mimic the Marco with Cigs on hand". Director Haneef Adeni 's explosive action entertainer 'Marco', in which Unni Mukundan played the lead, was an overwhelming success at the box office. Speaking at a pre-release event of director Karthik Subbaraj 's 'Retro' that was held at the Lulu Mall in Trivandram, Suriya had said, "Just one caution. I have smoked cigarettes for the sake of the film. Please don't smoke cigarettes in your life." Suriya pointed out that if one started smoking, they wouldn't be able to get rid of the habit.
