Boots sale drops 'streak free' £22 self tan 'perfect for pale skin' to just £10
Beauty fans don't have long to take advantage of Boots' deal on this "best fake tan." Finding a flawless self-tan at the best of times can be difficult. However, for those with a pale skin type, it can pose an even more difficult challenge. Not only can they often look fairly streaky on a lighter skin tone, but they can also show up any hint of orange. However, one product that beauty buffs have ranked as "the best" is the Skinny Tan Self-Tanning Mousse - and it's currently on offer. High street firm Boots is back with its popular online £10 Tuesday deals. And included today, May 13, is the popular self-tanner that often retails at £21.99, allowing shoppers to save £11.99 - but only today. It is worth noting that, while the health and beauty chain's website still stocks the brand name as Skinny Tan, it has since been rebranded as Skin & Tan, which means shoppers could receive either packaging but have been assured it is the same product. According to the brand itself, this is its "most foolproof tan" that is suitable for beginners and experienced users. Its light and airy mousse formula has been infused with the firm's Skinny Tan Technology that leaves a "streak free" glow that will fade evenly. Formulated with a coconut and vanilla scent to banish that dreaded 'biscuit smell', this "fast drying" and "non sticky" formula also incorporates natural aloe vera and caffeine-rich guava to leave skin feeling hydrated and moisturised. Skinny Tan Self-Tanning Mousse, Medium £21.99 £10 Boots Buy here Product Description An alternative for beauty fans unsure about the mousse formula is the Garnier Ambre Solaire Natural Bronzer Self-Tan Body Mist that is currently half-price on Amazon. It is now £6.25 after being dropped from £12.50. Meanwhile, one of the most popular mousse formula self-tanners on the market is the Coco & Eve Bali Bronzing Foam that can now be bought for 20 per cent less on Lookfantastic. Boots shoppers who have bought the Skinny Tan Self-Tanning Mousse have left it glowing reviews, as they say that its formula "glides on like silk" and is "so easy to apply." One Boots shopper who said the mousse is "perfect for pale skin" also wrote: "The new formula of this glides on like silk.. I use a mitt and it's never streaky and no fake tan smell whatsoever! "It is a bit sticky straight after you've applied it but I just use some talcum powder to dry some areas and it works perfectly. I don't mind a bit of stickiness because I love the colour so much. "The guide colour may look a bit ashy at first but give it 6-8 hours to develop (preferably overnight) and you will be delighted with the outcome. I use the medium colour because I want it to look as natural as possible and I'm never disappointed. I just love this product." Beauty deal of the week Beauty fans looking to get a golden glow will know the benefit of tanning drops. One bottle that has "blown away" shoppers is the Garnier Ambre Solaire Natural Bronzer Self Tan Face Drops - and they cost under £11 a bottle. Ideal for those who don't want to go through the hassle of using a tanning mitt to prevent patchiness or orange-tones, these "lightweight" drops can be easily mixed into your favourite moisturiser for a flawless glow. Since the drops offer a "buildable" bronzed look, many reviews have suggested that one of the positives is the ability to "control" the depth of their tan, unlike other products that deliver just one specific shade. Enriched with skin-loving ingredients hyaluronic acid and coconut water, these Garnier drops also work to keep your skin "intensely moisturised" day by day. Of course, with the reputation Garnier's Natural Bronzer Face Drops have earned, it's no surprise they have 4.2 rating based on over 2,000 reviews on Amazon alone, as shoppers call them a "little bottle of magic" for a "natural sun-kissed glow." One purchaser said: "Blown away! I'm not a phaffer. I generally don't bother with things like tan and bronzer. But this little bottle of magic changed all that! I love it! I pop it on with my moisturiser and a couple of hours later I am actually glowing! "I've been asked repeatedly if I've been on holiday, lost weight, got a new person, had a facelift or found a genie in a bottle. I'm so scared of running out I've stocked up!!" Shop the Garnier Ambre Solaire Natural Bronzer Self Tan Face Drops for £10.67 on Amazon here. Another five-star review read: "Best fake tan I have used. Goes on great with the skinny tan mitt and no streaks when you rinse next morning don't use soap or shower gel when rinsing as this causes streaks." Someone else added: "I actually really love this! I'm fair and like a natural tan. It smells good and is so easy to apply. No streaks and I really love the colour! Not too dark. Just right for me and fades well." Not everyone has been keen on the green tint to the formula, as one shopper said: "I bought this today and went to use it and it came out bright green. "Looked it up on the internet and apparently skinny tan has a greenish tinge so I tried it. Had to take it off within 5 minutes because the green was getting worse. Will be returning tomorrow." Nevertheless, a more positive shopper wrote: "I usually use St Tropez but thought I would give this a go for a change, and I'm glad that I did. "Very subtle, no orange colour or streaks, but do use the skinny tan Mitt. Was a bit worried at first as the mousse did have a green tinge. You can deepen the colour by doing it daily." 8 of the best beauty buys that launched in April, from Charlotte Tilbuty to Laneige
We've pinned down all the new standout launches from last month, including Charlotte Tilbury's new kohl pencils Somehow it's already May — how did that happen? As we swap chunky jackets for linen shirts and iced coffees, we can't help but feel a little nostalgic about April. It was the month that the sun finally came out and summer dresses made their long-awaited return. April also brought a bunch of brilliant beauty launches — from haircare heroes to glowy skincare must-haves. This month, our beauty writers Lauren, Rachel and Tiffany have rounded up their favourite finds — including Philip Kingsley's latest hair treatment in a juicy nectar and peach scent (hello, summer hair) and ghd's brand-new tool for creating soft, beachy waves. We've also pinned down the best skincare and makeup launches, from the likes of Charlotte Tilbury and Skin & Tan. Plus, Laneige has dropped a new Lip Sleeping Mask flavour and spoiler: it's green, fresh and you'll want to wear it all day (as well as the night). Scroll down to see the best beauty buys you'll want to add to your shopping basket, stat. Lauren's picks: Skin & Tan Face Glow Advanced Hydrating SPF & Tan Cream - £20 Now that the sun's shining, I've started using fake tan again. I'm comfortable with my pale skin during winter, but a golden glow gives me an extra confidence boost when the weather warms up. Skin & Tan has been on my list for some time (its setting mist is a real game-changer), so I was eager to try its latest product: the Glow Advanced Hydrating SPF & Tan Cream. This 3-in-1 multitasker is designed to fit seamlessly into your daily routine, serving as a daily moisturiser, providing essential sun protection, and delivering a gradual tan that looks natural and sun-kissed. Admittedly, I had some reservations at first application — the formula is a bit thick — but it blended in surprisingly quickly, leaving no white residue. It did leave my skin feeling slightly sticky, but nothing too off-putting. It also smells like a gentle reminder of holidays (think subtle coconut and sunshine), and I noticed that my face felt more hydrated after use. The tan itself took a few days to develop, but the results were worth the wait. It was a healthy, glowing, just-back-from-the-beach kind of colour that made me look instantly more refreshed. Sure, it's not the lightest texture I've tried, but at £20, it's a solid budget-friendly choice if you're looking for an everyday SPF that delivers a gradual, healthy tan without fuss. LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask Matcha Bubble Tea - £21 Rain or shine, winter winds or summer heatwaves, my lips are perpetually dry and chapped. It's a curse I've come to accept but one I never stop trying to fix. So when Laneige's Lip Sleeping Mask went viral, I had to see what the hype was about. I picked up the vanilla version first, and it's been a non-negotiable part of my bedtime routine ever since. A quick swipe before sleep, and I wake up to soft, hydrated lips — no peeling or flaking. Laneige has since expanded its lineup with a range of delicious flavours, and the latest addition to the family is Matcha Bubble Tea. It smells like a creamy blend of earthy green tea and sweet milk — comforting and refreshing. Like all the other versions, it's packed with nourishing ingredients like coconut oil, shea butter, and murumuru butter to deeply moisturise overnight. And if you're as obsessed with the scent as I am, there's even a matching Glowy Lip Balm for daytime use. ghd Wave - £159 Now the weather is officially warm, and I've been on the hunt for a way to get that effortless, beachy hair vibe without the need for an actual beach (the struggle of living in London). After much searching, I'm thrilled to report that GHD has just launched its first device designed for exactly that: the ghd Wave. This clever new tool features three barrels and uses advanced PTC heat technology to maintain the optimal styling temperature of 185°C, ensuring a consistent, gentle heat that helps create loose, natural-looking waves. GHD also claims it delivers 30% more shine and up to twice less frizz — ideal for polished, off-duty waves. Don't forget, though, to always apply a heat protector spray before you get styling to keep strands healthy and strong all summer long. My personal preference is Beauty Works 10 in 1 Miracle Heat Protect Spray (£8.50), which eliminates frizz, nourishes hair, and prevents potential damage. Rachel's picks: Nala's Baby Strawberry Springs Body Lotion - £5.55 Ever since Nala's Baby was launched in 2022, it's become something of a force to be reckoned with amongst parents and skincare fans alike. Because it's made for babies, it's incredibly kind on even the most sensitive of skin, and as a result, it's become a firm favourite amongst adults too. I'm one of Nala's Baby's stalwart fans, and swears by it for soft and nourished skin without it having to cost the earth. So, I was excited to try the newest scent of the brand's body lotion — Strawberry Springs. I've been using Vanilla Cloud f or a good while, and the scent is unrivalled, so a more exotic version of my favourite lotion sounded perfect for the upcoming summer months. My skin is sensitive, so this lotion is perfect for me. as it's packed with hydrating apricot oil and soothing shea butter to absorb effortlessly and deliver long-lasting moisture and protection against dryness. It's infused with strawberry, raspberry leaf, and black currant extracts for a gorgeous smell that layers perfectly with some of my fruitier summer perfumes. I can't say I prefer it to Vanilla Cloud as that's the OG, but it's definitely something I'll be using throughout the warmer spring an summer months. Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Therapy in Honey Nectar and Peach - £24 As someone who has thick, long and often dry hair, keeping it hydrated and in good condition is paramount. Following advice from a Dyson hairstylist a few years ago, I began to apply Philip Kingsley Elasticizer once a week for a deep condition, and it's seriously helped in the upkeep of healthy, shiny hair with less split ends than I was experiencing before. Anyone who knows anything about haircare will know that Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Therapy is nothing new, and has been a cult staple amongst many beauty lovers for years. But what is new is a Honey Nectar and Peach version, which hit shelves at the back-end of last month. Having used this several times now, I can vouch for it having the same restorative properties as the OG, with the added bonus of a delicious, summer scent that lasts for days after washing. Used before shampooing, it's clinically proven to reduce breakage by up to 46% after just one wash. It also adds instant shine, and makes your hair feel super soft. The only downside is you do need to leave it on to work its magic for 10-20 minutes before washing, but if you can make the time, it's well worth it. Tiffany's picks: Belif The True Cream, Aqua Bomb - £34.53 The craze of Korean beauty skincare is showing no signs of slowing down. One of the 'OG' K-beauty brands that I encountered in Southeast Asia is Belif, which uses apothecary traditions and herbal ingredients to restore skin conditions. I was excited when I found out Belif has landed in the UK — but especially for its bestseller, The True Cream Aqua Bomb. The gel-cream moisturiser is loved by makeup artists in Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, who use it as a makeup primer before applying foundation. A blend of hydrating botanical extracts, glycerin, and macadamia nut oil bind moisture to the skin, plumping up the skin, restoring elasticity, and creating a dewy glow. The Aqua Bomb range also includes a pillow-proof Sleeping Mask (£51.73), a refreshing jelly-to-foam Jelly Cleanser (£22) and a hydrating Toner (£21). The Outset Lip Oasis - £22 Scarlett Johansson knows a thing or two about keeping lips looking luscious. Her clean beauty brand, The Outset, recently developed the popular Lip Oasis, which delivers intense moisture and high shine without that sticky, greasy feeling. The brand launched three tinted versions to give shoppers' lips a sheer hint of colour with fruit-flavoured scents — Mirage (blackberry), Sun Kiss (orange-red) and Dune (nude). It nourishes the lips, and the Maxi-Lip technology is also proven to enhance volume and contour over time. Scarlett added: 'The pigment also helps to camouflage any lip discolouration — think of it like the gloss equivalent of concealer for your lips.' Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'n' Kohl Kajal Eye Pencils - £25 Charlotte Tilbury has added new kohl pencils to its ever popular makeup range. The new Rock 'n' Kohl Kajal Eye Pencils are the perfect solution for those wanting 'effortless, sultry smokey eyes' in seconds. The new addition is a major improvement to Charlotte's original Kohl eyeliners, which launched in 2013. The new Kajal Eye Pencils are highly pigmented, ultra-creamy, and waterproof. In a test, 33 participants said their eyeliner lasted up to 28 hours on the eyelid and 10 hours on the waterline. The three matte shades are Bedroom Black, Barbarella Brown, and Fig Smoulder, and the metallic shades are Smokey Bronze, Hypnotic Peacock, and Sapphire Nights. While reviews have yet to come in, Charlotte gave tips to customers on using the new Kajal Eye Pencils: "Line, Smude, and Smoulder. Apply along the lash line and in your waterline, smudge it out using the built-in smudger brush, or create Charlotte's iconic feline flick."

Warpaint London goes from strength to strength in latest year
Record sales and profits in 2024 at an improved margin and a solid start to 2025: welcome to the bright, shiny world of Warpaint London. The specialist colour cosmetics supplier and owner of the W7, Technic, Skin & Tan, Super Facialist, Dirty Works and Fish Soho brands had much to celebrate Tuesday (29 April). Revenues for the year to 31 December grew 13% to £101.6 million as EU revenue increased 22% to £54.7 million, UK revenue rose 8% to £35 million, and US revenue increased 19% (up 22% in US dollar terms) to £8.7 million. Meanwhile, direct online sales 'continue to grow significantly', up 35% in 2024 to £8.4 million, accounting for 8.3% of group sales, up from 6.9% in the previous year. Adjusted pre-tax profit jumped 33% to £24.2 million, with the gross profit margin hitting 39.9%, up 130bps. And all this 'despite the challenging macroeconomic environment' it noted. And how was this achieved? 'Warpaint's consistent and focused strategy of ensuring its branded products are sold through an ever-expanding network of large retailers globally, by gaining more space within these retailers, entering relationships with new ones and increasing the group's online sales presence', it said. UK product expansion included its full range of Technic products launched in an initial 202 Morrisons supermarket stores; further expansion with Boots, with an over fourfold increase in retail space; a further rollout with Superdrug; and expansion with supermarket giant Tesco. In the US, the company expanded its W7 range, rolling out to a further 387 stores run by CVS, on top of a 'significant order" received from Walmart, for W7 and Chit Chat product, and 'significant expansion' with Five Below. Other highlights included the completion of the Brand Architekts acquisition in February, adding a portfolio of health, beauty and personal care brands to the group, including the aforementioned Skin & Tan, Super Facialist, Dirty Works and Fish Soho, sold throughout the UK and internationally. 'The integration of Brand Architekts into the group is progressing well and the Warpaint directors continue to believe that the acquisition will be earnings enhancing in the year ending 31 December 2025', it noted. For good measure, chairman Clive Garston added: "The board expects the group performance to remain strong and for sales and profits to continue to grow over the remainder of 2025 and beyond." And what about those US tariffs? '[They're] having an impact on our US business, Garston said, 'but the US remains a modest part of the group's overall business, and with significant growth opportunities elsewhere and strategies in place to mitigate their effect, we do not expect tariffs to have a material impact on the financial performance in 2025. "Accordingly, the board's expectations for the financial performance in 2025 are unchanged [with] sales and profits to continue to grow over the remainder of 2025 and beyond.'
