Fundraiser supports Baton Rouge group's mentoring program
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge is hosting its annual Sneaker Soiree: Kicks for a Cause Fundraiser on Saturday, May 10.
The group has a mentoring program centered around young male students in grades 6-12. The fundraiser will provide scholarships to 13 seniors this year and fund other program initiatives. Students in the program learn about financial literacy, career readiness, leadership and so much more.
The group offers collegiate support as well to students at Southern University and Louisiana State University, and the group provides services to female students, too.
