UP man kills himself on Bakrid as an offering to God
LUCKNOW: In a tragic incident, a Muslim man from Udhopur village in Deoria district of eastern UP allegedly died by suicide claiming he was offering himself as a sacrifice to the Almighty. The victim identified as Ish Mohammad, 60, reportedly slit his throat with a knife on the occasion of Bakrid on Saturday. Hearing him groaning, the family members rushed to him, finding him lying in a pool of blood. He was immediately rushed to Gorakhpur Medical College, where he died during the treatment. According to the relatives, Mohammed is said to have written a note to the village Pradhan stating the goats he reared and nurtured like kids have been sacrificed on Bakrid. "So I hereby sacrifice myself and offer to Allah Rasool," he wrote. "I am offering myself to Allah Rasool. No one has killed me. Bury me with patience." He also mentioned the exact location where he wished to be buried. Ish Mohammad is survived by his wife and three sons. While two of his sons live with the family in Udhopur, the youngest is employed at a hotel in Mumbai. Telangana: Couple dies by suicide in Nizamabad, police suspect financial and health issues
A man and his wife allegedly died by suicide at their residence in Telangana's Nizamabad district, reportedly due to financial stress and health issues, police said on Saturday. Nizamabad Town police station officials said they received a call about the incident on Friday night. According to police, the couple's two sons were away at work when the incident took place. "Based on the state of the bodies and the foul smell, we believe the incident occurred a day or two ago," an officer said. A case has been registered, and the bodies were sent for post-mortem examination, he said, adding that further investigation is underway. Discussing suicides can be triggering for some. Rajasthan: Couple commits suicide after husband loses Rs 5 lakh on gaming app
KOTA: A married couple committed suicide, reportedly depressed over the husband losing around Rs 5 lakh while gambling online, police said on Monday. Deepak Rathore and his wife were found hanging from ceiling fans in their house in Kheda Rampur village in the district on Monday morning, police said. The couple reportedly purchased a nylon rope from a local market on Sunday night and hanged themselves after having dinner, police said. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dhaka said that when Deepak's father knocked on the door of their room on Monday morning, there was no answer. When the door was broken open, the duo was found hanging inside. Police said no suicide note was found in the room. According to Deepak's family members, he had recently lost around Rs 5 lakh while gambling online and was depressed. A couple of days ago, Deepak had spoken on the phone with his wife's elder sister and told her about his ordeal and that he had no other option but to end his life. His sister-in-law urged him not to take any extreme steps and assured help, the family members said. Meanwhile, DSP Dhaka said a probe has been launched to ascertain the cause behind the alleged suicide. The bodies have been handed over to family members after a post-mortem, he added. Reprimanded for phone use, Class 10 student dies by suicide
HYDERABAD: A 16-year-old student from Vinay Nagar in Saidabad reportedly died by suicide on Monday, after being reprimanded by his parents for using a mobile phone and watching television. According to Saidabad police, the boy had failed one subject in the SSC Class 10 examinations and was preparing for the Advanced Supplementary exams with his parents' support. Police said that on Saturday, the student was scolded for using a mobile phone, and again on Sunday for watching TV instead of studying. Upset by the reprimands, he is believed to have taken the extreme step. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway. After Haryana, another family in Kerala found dead; suicide over debt suspected
A family of four, including the father, mother and their two children, were found hanging in their house in Kerala's Vakkam on Tuesday, police officials said. The deceased have been identified as 55-year-old Anilkumar, his 50-year-old wife Sheeja, and their two sons, both in their twenties, according news agency PTI. Chilling details emerge Police stated that, prima facie, the incident appeared to be a suicide, adding, 'It is suspected that Anilkumar was facing financial issues. An investigation is underway. No suicide note has been recovered from the house thus far." The incident came to light after neighbours entered the house, as none of the family members had been seen outside. The Kerala incident comes a day after, seven members of a family that hailed from Uttarakhand's Dehradun died by suicide inside a car in Haryana's Panchkula. The family was found dead at around 10 pm on Monday in the city's Sector 27 area, after they had attended a spiritual event by Bageshwar Dham's Baba Dhirendra Shastri. The family was found dead in their car after a passerby found the concealed windshield odd and discovered the family unconscious. While six of them were declared dead on arrival, the family's head was found alive and was referred to another hospital. However, he passed away soon afterwards. The police recovered a two-page suicide note from the vehicle, written by the family's patriarch, stating that they were taking the extreme step because they had gone bankrupt due to debt. He also wrote that everything that had happened was his fault and urged people to not trouble his father-in-law.
