Angel Strawbridge, famed for the Channel 4 show Escape to the Chateau with her husband Dick Strawbridge, previously opened up about experiencing isolation after the birth of her first child.
In a frank discussion, Angel also revealed her initial discomfort with her French neighbours following their move abroad. The couple caught the public's attention through their adventures refurbishing the Chateau de La Motte Husson in France.
Dick, who had two grown-up children prior to his marriage to Angel in 2015, extended his family with the birth of their two children, Arthur, aged 12, and Dorothy, now 11.
On the Sweat, Snot and Tears parenting podcast, Angel got personal about the solitude she felt becoming a mother to her son Arthur. Chatting with hosts Annie and Wendy, she reflected on life's upheavals, particularly those that occur when starting a family.
Upon being probed about significant shifts in her life, Angel addressed the emotions she grappled with during her initial foray into motherhood.

She confessed: "The biggest change when I did feel a little bit isolated was when I had my first child. Because then I just was like: right, your whole life changes completely."
Angel further articulated how bearing a child had altered her outlook, fundamentally shifting her mindset by the time they took the monumental step of relocating to France.
"By the time I moved to France I was in a different mental state from before I had children," she divulged.
"I was ready. And I think that's the big thing. I think if you're gonna do a move to somewhere like this, you really have to be ready for it."
The celebrity also mentioned how relocating had impacted her social life, though she acknowledged some of this was due to the Coronavirus pandemic, reports Devon Live.

Identifying herself as a "social butterfly", she admitted that while her children had adapted well to the French school system, she felt out of place among the upscale group of neighbours she privately dubbed the "Chateau Set".
"I felt really uncomfortable, it was weird," she mused.
Angel concluded by saying that she and Dick were in agreement that attending the extravagant dinner parties hosted by their affluent neighbours just wasn't for them.
Angel and Dick's paths crossed later in life when they met through a shared television agent in 2010, leading to their marriage in November 2015.

Since tying the knot, they've gained international acclaim for their restoration escapades, with Escape to the Chateau and its spin-offs becoming huge hits for Channel 4.
Nevertheless, the show was cancelled two years ago amid reports of a falling-out between the couple and Channel 4 producers.
In the meantime, the duo has been keeping their followers informed about their ongoing ventures and travels via social media.
Sweat, Snot & Tears is a parenting podcast produced by Netmums.
