Tender envelopes opened for Solar Power Station of Al-Bayda City Water Project

Sana'a – Saba: The Social Fund for Development (SFD) – Main Headquarters in Sana'a, today witnessed the opening of tender envelopes for the solar power station project for the Al-Bayda City Water Project, with a cost of $1.4 million, funded by the Dutch government and implemented by the Fund. The event was attended by Al-Bayda Governor and Chairman of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation, Abdullah Idris; Deputy Governor Nasser Al-Aji; Water Projects Officer at the SFD in Sana'a, Ahmed Ghamdan; and the General Director of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation, Abdulghani Al-Mukhtar. Governor Idris emphasized the importance of implementing the project to provide drinking water for citizens and alleviate their suffering amid the current difficult conditions in the country. He also expressed the local authority's readiness to overcome any obstacles to ensure the project's execution and improve water services for the residents of Al-Bayda city. For his part, Al-Mukhtar stated that implementing the solar power station for the city's water project is among the top priority projects, given its significant role in reducing the burden on residents. He pointed out that the project will help lower the costs of water production through the use of solar energy. He also confirmed that a lithium battery will be integrated into the hybrid operating system alongside solar power, marking the first use of this technology to reduce fuel consumption at the water pumping station. Bayda discusses progress of social fund for development projects

Bayda - Saba: A meeting chaired by governor Abdullah Idris in Bayda province on Sunday reviewed the progress of various development and service projects being implemented with the support of the Social Fund for Development (SFD). Dr. Mohammed al-Dailami, Director of the SFD's Dhamar-Bayda Branch, presented a report on projects in water, sanitation, education, roads, and health sectors carried out over the past two years and planned for 2025, targeting the most needy areas in coordination with local authorities. The meeting also discussed water and sanitation needs, with the governor praising the SFD's role in addressing priority projects. He emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to overcome challenges and enhance development, noting the Fund's focus on agriculture, irrigation, water, and institutional building for the current year. The governor also reviewed a training course for community committee trainers for Bayda City Water Project, urging participants to apply their knowledge to the ongoing construction. Ibb inaugurates 245 service projects worth over 9 billion Y.R

Ibb - Saba: A significant milestone in Ibb province's development was marked on Saturday with the inauguration of 245 service projects, totaling 9,416,543,000 Y.R. The projects, spanning various sectors, were opened by First Deputy Prime Minister Mohammed Miftah, Minister of Administration and Local and Rural Development Mohammed al-Madani, Ibb governor Abdulwahid Salah, and Secretary-General of the Local Council Amin al-Warafi. The diverse projects included: Local Funding: 52 projects (2,200,242,000 riyals) encompassing roads, agriculture, health, education, and other sectors. Community Initiatives: 143 projects (2,244,834,000 Y.R) and 4 irrigation projects (109,062,000 riyals) implemented with community collaboration and support. Central Support and Donor Agencies: 46 projects (2,787,387,000 Y.R) in water, public works, roads, education, and rural water, along with 14 Social Fund for Development projects. Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit: Projects in roads, education, health, agriculture, and services (1,722,917,000 Y.R). The total cost of community initiative projects, involving both community and local authority contributions, reached 2,075,016,000 Y.R. Miftah praised the local authority's efforts in fostering community initiatives and implementing national directives. Governor Salah revealed that 649 projects, valued at 21,892,732,000 Y.R and $5,387,000, are currently underway in the province, with completion rates ranging from 60 to 100 percent.
