Body found in search for man, 72, missing from dinghy
A body has been found in the search for a 72-year-old man who went missing after going sailing off the Solway Turnbull, from Gatehouse of Fleet, was last seen at about 13:00 on Tuesday. His dinghy was later found in nearby Wigtown Scotland said the body was found in the Fleet Bay area near Whithorn at about 16:40 on identification has not yet taken place, but Mr Turnbull's family has been informed. A major search operation along the Solway Coast involved police, coastguard and mountain rescue teams, with drones and air support units.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."

Searches are continuing for a 72-year-old man reported missing after going sailing on a dinghy off the Solway Turnbull, from Gatehouse of Fleet, was last seen at about 13:00 on dinghy was later found in the nearby Wigtown Bay said they were working with the coastguard, mountain rescue teams, drones and air support units to continue searching the coastline. Supt Alison Wilson said: "Extensive inquiries are continuing and teams have been deployed across various areas in efforts to trace Alistair."We would also ask members of the public to report any information which may assist our inquiries to come forward."

Coastguard search for missing dinghy off Solway Coast
A search has been taking place for an "overdue vessel" off the Solway Coastguard was called out to reports of what is understood to be a missing dinghy off Wigtown Bay on Tuesday at about 19: teams from Ballantrae, Isle of Whithorn, Kirkcudbright, Portling, Stranraer and Portpatrick were sent alongside a search and rescue helicopter from Prestwick and Kirkcudbright RNLI were also called out to the incident. The coastguard said the search was suspended at about 01:00 on Wednesday but was set to resume.
