Sony's wireless fight stick is now called FlexStrike and it features mechanical switch buttons
Sony just dropped some more details about its upcoming wireless fight stick, including the real name. During development, it was known as Project Defiant but it's officially called the FlexStrike. This is the very first fight stick controller designed by Sony Interactive and it's compatible with both PS5 and PC via either a wired or wireless connection. It's also extremely easy on the eyes, as you can see below. Fighting games require precise inputs with no lag, and wireless controllers aren't typically the preferred option. However, FlexStrike capitalizes on the PlayStation Link technology to deliver "ultra-low latency wireless" gameplay. This requires the included PS Link USB adapter, which is compatible with USB-C ports. The controller features angled surfaces and a non-slip base so it shouldn't move around during frantic play sessions. It also includes a custom-designed digital stick and mechanical switch buttons. It even features a touchpad, so it boasts just about every input found on a traditional DualSense. The aforementioned adapter can be used to connect two FlexStrike controllers at once, or to pair a single controller with Sony's Pulse Elite headset or Pulse Explore earbuds. A standard DualSense can also remain connected to a PS5 at the same time, for menu-diving and the like. The FlexStrike controller will be available sometime in 2026. We don't have a price yet, but we do know that it ships with a nifty carrying case.

Ghost of Yōtei State of Play showcase date, how to watch, and what to expect
Image via: Sony Interactive After months of anticipation, fans now have a less-longer wait with the confirmation of a Ghost of Yōtei State of Play showcase dedicated to the game. Scheduled for July 10, 2025, this special deep-dive will lift the veil on the spiritual successor of Ghost of Tsushima, giving players a close-up look at the gameplay, mechanics, and story elements that have so far only ever been seen in short teaser trailers. When To Watch The Ghost of Yōtei State of Play will be streamed live on Thursday, the 10th of July , on PlayStation's official Twitch and YouTube channels. In terms of worldwide timing, this is how it goes: 2 PM PT 5 PM ET 10 PM BST 11 PM CEST Event Duration: Approximately 20 minutes The game will be hosted by its two creative directors, Jason Connell and Nate Fox, who will announce the new features, visuals, and gameplay. What to Expect: A Deep Dive into Atsu's Journey Previous trailers introduced a new protagonist, Atsu, and a setting some 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, and still, much of the actual gameplay of the title remained unknown up to this point. This State of Play would be a major indication to viewers of what Atsu's full arsenal looks like, new weapons, the newer customize systems, and gameplay modes. Sony has hinted for the players to get an exclusive tour on how they can customize their own experience as they go through the northern parts of Japan-which is mostly present-day Hokkaido. Culture Depth and New Enemies Atsu's vengeance belongs to the Yōtei Six. The game is also supposed to celebrate and respectfully represent the Ainu culture, native to that area, a detail that assures one of Sucker Punch's interest in somewhat grounded historical storytelling, a credit they enjoyed with Ghost of Tsushima. Ghost of Yōtei - State of Play Announcement Trailer | PS5 Games The Road to October Launch This showcase is set to serve as the biggest marketing ramp ahead of an October release for Ghost of Yōtei, with multiplayer features or open-world traversal methods being speculated upon. Helldivers 2 is coming to Xbox on August 26
Sony Interactive's Helldivers 2 , the third-person co-op shooter developed by Arrowhead Game Studios, is finally coming to Xbox on August 26. The sequel to the 2015 top-down shooter was released for PlayStation 5 and Windows in early 2024 and supports cross-platform play. After launch, Helldivers 2 was a huge success, selling over 15 million copies and reaching 450,000 concurrent players on Steam, the highest number ever among PlayStation games released for the PC. In fact, there were so many players online that Sony briefly attempted to mandate PlayStation Network account linking, which set off a wave of negative reviews from frustrated gamers. The policy was eventually reversed. In the announcement of the game's Xbox launch, Game Director Mikael Eriksson said, 'we know gamers have been asking for this for some time and we are so excited to bring more Helldivers into our game. We have so much more in store for the future months and years – and the more players we have the more stories we can tell! The fight for Super Earth has only just begun.' It's notable that this marks only the second time that Sony will publish one of its first-party titles on Xbox, after MLB: The Show . Time will tell if this is just another rare exception, or the start of a new trend by Sony allowing their games to reach more players . Players can pre-order digital copies of both the standard edition and the Super Citizen Edition for Helldivers 2 now. It's unclear if a physical copy of the game will be released.
