Woman, 71, dies in M1 crash near Barnsley
A 71-year-old woman has died following a crash on the M1 in South crews were called to the southbound carriageway of the motorway, between junctions 36 and 37 near Barnsley, at about 09:25 BST on Thursday, according to South Yorkshire Police.A grey Volvo XC40 had hit the central barrier of the motorway and left the carriageway, a force spokesperson efforts by emergency services, the woman died at the scene and a 71-year-old man was taken to hospital suffering from serious injuries. Arrest after man, 70, seriously hurt in crash on Sheffield street
A man has been arrested after a crash which left another man with "life-changing" injuries, police have said.A mobility scooter and a black Ford Focus were involved in a collision on Norton Avenue, Sheffield, at about 16:25 GMT on Sunday, according to South Yorkshire Police.A 70-year-old man was seriously injured in the crash and a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and drug-driving, a force spokesperson appealed for anyone who saw what happened, or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the scene at around the time of the collision, to get in touch. Sheffield football clubs ban 22 people after derby disorder
Over 20 people believed to have been involved in disorder at a match between Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday have been banned from the grounds of both broke out at Sheffield United's stadium at Bramall Lane before and after the side's derby clash with Sheffield Wednesday on 10 November.A total of 22 individuals had since been identified and banned by the clubs from attending future matches, according to South Yorkshire Police.A force spokesperson said 10 people had already been charged in connection with the disorder, while others awaited charging decisions from the Crown Prosecution Service or remained under investigation. Teenager dies and boy, 14, seriously hurt in Dunscroft crash
A teenage boy died and another was left seriously injured following a three-vehicle crash in collision, on Broadway in Dunscroft, happened at about 16:15 GMT on Wednesday and involved a black Skoda Karoq car, a grey Daelim LV 125 motorbike and a grey Royal Enfield Classic 350 motorbike, according to South Yorkshire Police.A boy aged 15, who was on one of the motorbikes, died on Thursday from his injuries, while a 14-year-old boy, who was also on one of the bikes, was being treated in hospital for potentially life-changing injuries, officers other people who were on the motorbikes suffered minor injuries in the crash, a force spokesperson said. Three suspected arsons could be linked
A series of suspected arson attacks in Sheffield over the last three days may be linked, police have of the incidents involved a bin fire that spread to a property in Tynker Avenue just before 04:00 GMT on Sunday, while a caravan fire spread to an adjacent property in Bramshill Close at about 05:45 GMT the same morning, according to South Yorkshire Police.A third fire was reported in Meadow Gate Avenue at about 02:00 GMT on Tuesday and involved a wheelie bin fire spreading to two cars, a Land Rover Defender and a Porsche Taycan, as well as to a nearby injuries were reported but officers believed all the fires had been started deliberately, a force spokesperson said.
