Dispersal orders put in place across Surrey

Surrey Police has implemented dispersal orders across the county this weekend. Spelthorne Beat said an order was in place in part of Sunbury, while Runnymede Beat said it was implementing one for Thorpe Industrial Estate. Elmbridge Beat also issued dispersal orders at Cobham services on the M25 and Brooklands Industrial Estate in Weybridge. All the orders, which are in place from 06:00 GMT Saturday to 06:00 BST Monday, were granted following reports of anti-social behaviour or its possibility, according to the force. The police beat teams said the orders meant officers could direct someone who is believed to be committing or may commit anti-social behaviour to leave the area. Failing to do so could lead to arrest, they added. "Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated across our county," said Insp Matthew Walton, borough commander for Spelthorne. "We will deal with offences robustly," he added, in a comment repeated by the other teams. Officers from all three beats will be patrolling their respective dispersal areas over the weekend, police said. They urged anyone who sees anti-social behaviour to contact them.
