Where Alabama sits in USA TODAY Sports' Coaches Poll following series win vs. Georgia

Where Alabama sits in USA TODAY Sports' Coaches Poll following series win vs. Georgia Throughout the 2025 season, the Alabama Crimson Tide likely haven't had any bigger results than what took place this past Sunday afternoon inside of Sewell-Thomas Stadium. After dropping Game 1 of a big series Friday night against Georgia in Tuscaloosa, 19-3, Alabama bounced back in a significant way Sunday to take the series, sweeping both Games 2 and 3. As a result, the Crimson Tide improved their chances to potentially host a regional in the coming weeks, picking up a series win over a Top 10 ranked team. Because of this, Alabama is now back on the rise in the latest polls, as expected, with the Crimson Tide now sitting at No. 16 according to the latest USA TODAY Sports College Baseball Coaches Poll. Released on Monday afternoon, Alabama jumped a total of four spots as a result of their series win over Georgia, which also followed a dominant 10-2 road win over another ranked team, the Troy Trojans, earlier in the week. Now sitting at 39-13 overall, as well as 15-12 in SEC play, Alabama will conclude the regular season this weekend with a road series at Florida. The Gators jumped 11 spots into the Top 25 on Monday, with Florida now sitting at No. 21 nationally. Baseball America projects full NCAA Tournament field: Is Alabama a top national seed?

Baseball America projects full NCAA Tournament field: Is Alabama a top national seed? Alabama has one of the better rosters in the country in Rob Vaughn's second season in Tuscaloosa. Is it enough to earn a top eight national seed? The Alabama Crimson Tide continued their hot start to the 2025 college baseball season over the weekend by taking two of three games from the No. 9 Oklahoma Sooners in SEC weekend series play. The Crimson Tide (26-4 overall, 6-3 SEC) followed it up with another midweek victory on Tuesday by holding off the Samford Bulldogs for an 11-9 win at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. Coach Rob Vaughn's team visits Auburn to resume SEC play beginning Friday. Needless to say, Alabama baseball enters the month of April with high postseason expectations. The Crimson Tide are ranked No. 8 in every major Top 25 poll this week, including the USA TODAY Sports' Coaches Poll. Their 16-0 start to the season tied a program-best mark. Before 2023, Alabama hadn't been to a Super Regional since the 2010 season when they fell to Clemson in a winner-take-all Game 3. On Wednesday, Baseball America unveiled its new Field of 64 projections for the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Alabama was a projected No. 8 national seed, one seed below the Clemson Tigers. The Crimson Tide's 8-6 series-clinching win over Oklahoma last Sunday moved them ahead of the Sooners for the final projected top eight seed. The top five national seeds in Baseball America's projections are the No. 1 Tennessee Volunteers, followed by the Arkansas Razorbacks (No. 2), Texas Longhorns (No. 3), Georgia Bulldogs (No. 4) and LSU (No. 5). Finishing with a top eight national seed would mean the Crimson Tide would also host a best-of-three Super Regional, if they win their four-team on-site regional. Baseball America currently projects Alabama to host Florida A&M from the SWAC, Northeastern from the CAA, and Wake Forest from the ACC in a four-team, double-elimination Tuscaloosa Regional to kick off the tournament. The official field of 64 bracket that will make up the 2025 NCAA Tournament and begin competing for a berth in the College World Series in Omaha will be unveiled Monday, May 26 at 11 a.m. CT on either ESPN2 or ESPNU. On-site regionals begin the following Friday, May 30. Alabama's last College World Series appearance was all the way back in 1999 under longtime coach Jim Wells. Alabama baseball schedule 2025 The Crimson Tide begin a three-game weekend series Friday when they travel to Plainsman Park to face the No. 17 Auburn Tigers (20-9, 4-5). First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. The game can be seen on SEC Network+. Auburn was swept by third-ranked Georgia (29-2, 8-1) this past weekend in Athens. The Tigers are a projected No. 15 seed in Baseball America's field of 64 outlook.
