Michelle Beadle Slams Stephen A. Smith After He Takes Over Her Radio Timeslot

Michelle Beadle just went scorched Earth on her former ESPN co-worker Stephen A. Smith, whose news this week that he's taking over her SiriusXM Radio timeslot this fall "blindsided" her because she found out via a story in a Hollywood trade magazine. Beadle, a former host of ESPN's Get Up and the popular but since-canceled SportsNation, told Front Office Sports that New York Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau was more gracefully fired than what she experienced after learning about Smith's new gig. "The Hollywood Reporter comes out—and there's his face. I was like, I should have known. That was just kind of gross,' she told FOS. 'I don't care that we're being replaced or what have you. It happens all the time. But a little respect would have been nice. Good Lord. I was totally blindsided. Just really embarrassed, to be honest."Smith appeared on The Howard Stern Show on Wednesday and announced his two new shows: a weekday sports show from 1-3 p.m. ET. Smith is replacing Beadle in that timeslot, a timeslot Beadle and her partner, Cody Decker, enjoyed for two years. Smith's also getting a weekly show that covers sports, politics and pop culture. "In fairness, we do need more coverage of 'Jamal Williams' and other fun 'facts,'" Beadle ripped Smith in a subtweet. Beadle and Smith have not gotten along ever since Smith essentially came to Ray Rice's defense amid the NFL star's 2014 brutal assault on his then-fiancee, which was caught on elevator security footage and first shared by TMZ. Beadle, at the time, tweeted her disgust at Smith's poor take on First Take. Smith was later suspended for that take and he apologized. Beadle, whose contract at SiriusXM runs through August, admits "there's no love lost" between her and Smith. Then she really laid into him."I don't respect him. I don't respect his work. He doesn't like me. This goes back to the Ray Rice stuff. He made some really piggish comments on the air. I responded; he got suspended for [a week]," Beadle said. "I think that was sort of the beginning of the end for anything. I just don't respect him. I think he gets things wrong all the time. I'm not talking about opinions; those can never be wrong. But factually, when you spread yourself so thin, it's hard to be right. Not a fan.' In the end, Beadle admits that the move boils down to business and the harsh reality that business can also be cruel, even to the most successful and popular figures. 'It's a reminder: We're just all pieces of shit to someone," the former YES Network host says. "If you forgot, there it is.' Michelle Beadle Slams Stephen A. Report: BYU's Egor Demin will declare for the NBA draft

BYU guard Egor Demin (3) is guarded by West Virginia Mountaineers guard Javon Small (7) as Demin drives the ball around a screen set by center Keba Keita (13) during an NCAA men's basketball game held at the Marriott Center in Provo on Saturday, March 1, 2025. | Isaac Hale, Deseret News Egor Demin has reportedly made up his mind. BYU's star point guard will forego his remaining college eligibility and declare for the NBA draft, according to a Tuesday report from Jonathan Givony of ESPN. Demin will officially announce his decision at a press conference at 10 a.m. MDT Tuesday in Provo before appearing on 'BYU Sports Nation.' Advertisement As a freshman, Demin started in 33 games for BYU and averaged 10.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists to earn All-Big 12 Honorable Mention status. He did struggle at times with turnovers and shooting inconsistency this past season, but when Demin flashed, he clearly looked the part as one of college basketball's top talents. Such was the case in the NCAA Tournament, where Demin played some of his best basketball of the year when the lights were brightest. He scored 13.7 points per game in the NCAA tourney along with 17 total assists against six turnovers as the Cougars reached the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2011. The Russian star is a projected first-round selection in this summer's NBA draft, with The Ringer ranking him as the No. 15 overall prospect in the current class. 'Demin is the Three-Eyed Raven of this draft — he sees everything at all times,' wrote J. Kyle Mann of The Ringer. 'He is the most talented all-around passer in the draft, spotting cutters and weakside looks from 3 that others simply do not. He makes simple reads within the flow of the offense, whether he's playing off the catch and attacking a closeout or catching the ball in the middle of the floor, but most importantly, he's gifted at using his outside-the-box thinking to pry open passing windows. Advertisement 'With a live dribble, he excels at using his terrific size to sling pinpointed darts with overhand touch. And, crucially, he passes a shootable ball — they're typically on time and on target, with the right amount of ball deceleration so that the recipient can flow into their motion.' With Demin's departure — along with Dallin Hall's intention to transfer — Kevin Young and his staff will search for a new starting point guard out of the transfer portal to play alongside consensus No. 1 recruit AJ Dybantsa this coming season. This story will be updated.

Former NFL Pro Bowler Marcellus Wiley accused of raping two women at Columbia University

Former NFL Pro Bowler Marcellus Wiley is facing new allegations that he raped two women while attending Columbia University in the 1990s. The two accusers filed lawsuits last week claiming Wiley attacked them in separate incidents in his dorm room in 1994 when he was a star two-way player for the Columbia Lions, playing both running back and defensive end. Wiley, 50, had already faced assault allegations from other female students. He was first publicly accused of rape in a November 2023 lawsuit by a woman who claimed she was a virgin when the footballer attacked her at the Ivy League school in 1994. He called the allegations 'BS' in a lengthy YouTube video. One of the new accusers alleges the 6-foot-4, 250-pound Wiley — who later parlayed 10 seasons in the NFL playing for the Buffalo Bills and San Diego Chargers into a broadcast career — barely removed her clothes before the assault. The woman, who now lives in Texas and is identified in court papers only as Jane Doe, described how Wiley pressured her for sex after she accepted his invite to his dorm room on Oct. 27, 1994, according to the lawsuit. She said 'no repeatedly,' with Wiley chiding that she was 'too uptight and needed to relax,' she said in court papers. Wiley then cranked up his stereo, moved closer and accosted her, she alleged. 'Wiley then swung [her] legs on the bed, lunged towards her and overpowered [her],' holding her down as he whispered to her 'to relax, enjoy it, stop crying, and stop fighting the feeling,' she claimed in the filing. The victim, a Barnard student, later reported the incident to a Columbia University administrator who urged her not to file a criminal complaint and that if she pursued one, Jane Doe 'would be known as the girl who destroyed a black man's NFL dream.' The second anonymous new accuser, now a California resident, was assaulted about a month later, also in Wiley's dorm room, she claimed in legal papers. After his pro career — where he was named to the Pro Bowl three times and was nominated for the Walter Payton Man of the Year three times for his volunteer and charity work — he went on to a TV career that included co-hosting ESPN's 'SportsNation,' and later Fox Sport's 1's 'Speak for Yourself.' He also appeared on Bravo's 'Millionaire Matchmaker' in 2011. He married nurse anesthetist Annemarie Wiley in 2014, with whom he shares four kids. Last year she appeared on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills before she was abruptly fired. It's unclear why she was let go from the program. The victims are seeking unspecified damages. Columbia University declined comment. A lawyer for Wiley did not respond to requests for comment.
