Giant pigeons and Campbell's tomato soup can displayed in Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A park in downtown Springfield is now home to three giant pigeons and a Campbell's tomato soup can. The display can be found at Tower Square Park on the corner of Main and Bridge Streets. They cover 26 blocks that serve as a hub for culture and entertainment. Their mission is to help facilitate growth in the community, but are they trying to tell us something? At this time, no information has been released on the meaning of this display and its owners. Preview of Dine Springfield Restaurant Week However, the BID is preparing for Springfield Restaurant Week, which takes place on June 6th through the 15th. For more events happening, visit Campbell's to switch to new, soupless name Campbell's, a New Jersey-based company, has been in business for over 150 years. It is most famous for its namesake canned soups, adorned with red and white labels. Campbell's also owns brands like Prego sauce and Goldfish crackers, and completed a $2.7 billion acquisition of Sovos Brands, the maker of Rao's pasta sauces. 22News contacted the Springfield Business Improvement District for information and is waiting to hear back. Springfield BID holds annual meeting to boost business growth downtown
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Springfield Business Improvement District held its annual meeting Thursday morning. The organization is made up of property owners and commercial tenants who are dedicated to improving the quality of life in downtown Springfield. The BID covers 26 blocks that serve as a hub for culture and entertainment. Their mission is to help facilitate growth in the community. Marketing Director Samantha Savoie told 22News, 'A lot of what we do is in collaboration with the city and the local metro. We are trying to create a space where people want to live, work, and play.' The BID is also preparing for Springfield Restaurant Week. That takes place on June 6th through the 15th. Restaurants that are interested in participating have until May 1st to register.
