CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP)–First responders are essential to public safety in every community, but cities and towns across the country are seeing a shortage of people seeking careers in law enforcement, firefighting, and emergency medical services. U.S. Air Force Academy Band to perform at Springfield Symphony Hall This week on 22News InFocus, we'll be talking with representatives from a local police and fire department and a regional ambulance service to find out what's being done to recruit more people into those careers here in western Massachusetts. R&B legend Patti LaBelle coming to Springfield Symphony Hall
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The 'Godmother of Soul', is coming to Springfield Friday night. Buses delayed for students at Springfield Public Schools Patti LaBelle will be performing on Friday at 8:00 p.m. at Springfield Symphony Hall. She was born in Philadelphia and has been performing for over 60 years. Her first hit was in 1962, as the lead singer of The Bluebelles, and went on to receive worldwide acclaim with the trio, LaBelle, MGM Springfield states. Patti has been a solo artist since the 1970s and has created timeless songs and won numerous honors, such as GRAMMY Awards, American Music Awards, NAACP Image Awards, New York Times bestselling books and more. An online search shows there are still tickets available for Friday's show.
