Topeka Dream Home helps St. Jude patients across the U.S.
TOPEKA (KSNT) – It's time for the topeka St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway, to help fund the mission of the St. Jude Research Hospital: to advance cures. Keegan is from El Dorado, Kan., and he was 13-years-old when his family started to notice he was falling behind on his height and weight. He went to St. Jude Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. It was there when doctors found a brain tumor. St. Jude doesn't require any families to pay for a thing while their child is getting cared for. $100,000 grant fuels big dreams in 21 Kansas schools 'When you're going through a life altering situation with a child and you know that you don't have that pressure of hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical costs that you have to pay and you can focus on your child, that is huge,' Keegan's dad, Dustin said. The Topeka St. Jude Dream Home Campaign is just one way to ensure families don't have to worry about bills and can focus on their child getting healthy. 'I want people to know if they're doing something in support of St Jude, that their money is going to families that absolutely need it and are in or in a spot where, again, you're dealing with the morbidity of your child,' Dustin said. Keegan had surgery years ago and now only goes to St. Jude for checkups. Why did the tornado sirens sound across Shawnee County? In addition to the financial relief, he said his favorite thing about St. Jude is something he'll keep forever. 'You meet some of the greatest people there,' Keegan said. 'And we have kids that are family now to me almost. So they are amazing.' The 2025 Topeka St. Jude Dream Home is located at Aquarian Acres in Southeast Topeka. Tickets are now available. Local companies donate materials, labor for St. Jude Dream Home Giveway
In one week, ticket sales begin for Charlotte's St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. Tickets are $100, and only 23,000 will be sold. Click here for information on the dream home giveaway. Each ticket gets you a chance to win a custom home valued at more than $610,000. Proceeds support the work of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where families never receive a bill for their children's cancer treatment. Companies across our area are donating materials and labor. Lynnie Heath's company is handling the countertops. 'Everybody that I know that's involved in this home, they're, we're in a very specific niche market,' said Heath, with Harkey Tile & Stone. 'Everybody is the top of the trade. They're getting a good home when they get this house, for sure.' The custom home will be nearly 3,000 square feet with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway returns to Pooler, raising funds for kids fighting cancer
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — A new home is being built in Pooler, but this one has a special purpose. The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway is back and is raising money to help children who are fighting cancer. Construction will begin today on 2025's St. Jude dream home right here in the coastal giveaway is part of a nationwide effort that raised nearly $650 million for the hospital. The official groundbreaking for the home giveaway will take place at 11 a.m. Landmark 24 Homes, one of the country's largest homebuilders, will kick off construction on this year's dream home at 26 Blues Drive. The project is part of a nationwide effort to raise money for children fighting cancer, ensuring families never have to pay for treatment, travel, housing, or food. This fundraiser has been changing lives since 1991 across the country. All of the money raised from ticket sales goes back to St. Jude to help children and families on their road to recovery. 'The only thing I had to do was care for my child, and that's because someone decided to spend 100 bucks for a ticket. 100 dollars doesn't seem like a lot but when you think about the amount of donors there are… that goes so far,' said Lachaka Davis, a mother of a St. Jude patient. This year, the goal is to sell 8,000 tickets at $100 each to raise $800,000 for the hospital's lifesaving mission. Tickets aren't on sale, yet, but once they are they are expected to go fast.
