Daisy Ridley isn't a 'badly behaved' actor
Daisy Ridley is adamant she isn't a Hollywood "a*******". The 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' actress admits she knows some actors behave badly but she insists she's different because she always "turns up on time", works hard and knows her lines. She told The Independent newspapeR: "I'm not an a*******! That seems like a funny thing to say, but over time, you realise people [in Hollywood] behave really badly. I'm hardworking; I turn up on time; I know my lines; I know where I need to be." Daisy shot to international stardom after landing the lead role in the 2015 'Star Wars' instalment, and she admits it was "stressful" to be catapulted into the spotlight when she was in her early 20s but she feels grateful for the opportunities it gave her. She added: "I don't think it was 'Star Wars' itself that caused stress. It was being a 20-year-old who was cast in something that a lot of people watch – suddenly standing in a spotlight .. "I don't think I've been pigeonholed. Honestly, I think 'Star Wars' has given me choices. It's why I have the career I have." Daisy is set to reprise her role as Rey in another 'Star Wars' movie called 'Star Wars: New Jedi Order' which has been shrouded in secrecy - and the actress is adamant she's happy about returning to the sci-fi franchise. She added: "Time has not changed how I feel [about 'Star Wars']. If I didn't feel excited by the story, I wouldn't be doing it." Daisy previously opened up about the project in an interview with Collider, saying: "I don't know if I'd be a producer on it, but certainly I have been very involved. Well, not very involved, but I'm involved in as much as I know what's going on. "I know the story. I know what's going on with the script. So, I'm aware of all of that." The 'Cleaner' star added: "What's been really wonderful over the last few years is being more involved from the start to the finish, is really coming to set knowing this is the absolute best way we can tell this story, these are the best actors for the job, this is the best crew for the job. Having that confidence is so lovely. "And it's not that I didn't have that before, but I'm much more cognizant of it now. So, in that way, I'm looking forward to turning up really knowing the ins and outs and what the journey has been, and we're arriving at the absolute best place to tell this particular story."

"Star Wars" Series in the Works
Yara Sameh A mysterious new 'Star Wars' series is in early development from 'Lost' co-showrunner Carlton Cuse and his son, Nick Cuse. There are practically no other details available about the show, such as which characters it will include, when it will take place in the 'Star Wars' timeline, or which actors will be cast. Cuse is not the first 'Lost' alum to travel to a galaxy far, far away. J.J. Abrams, a co-creator of the sci-fi classic, directed 2015's 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' and 2019's 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.' And Damon Lindelof, Cuse's co-showrunner on 'Lost,' was hired to co-write a film with Justin Britt-Gibson centered on Daisy Ridley's character, Rey. However, Lindelof said in 2023 that he was 'asked to leave' the 'Star Wars' universe, and he and Britt-Gibson were replaced as writers by 'Peaky Blinders' creator Steven Knight. Knight eventually departed the project, which is still in development with writer George Nolfi and director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Also in development is a new 'Star Wars' trilogy from writer Simon Kinberg and a film with Taika Waititi attached to direct. At the 'Star Wars' event in Tokyo last week, Lucasfilm confirmed the upcoming 'Star Wars: Starfighter' movie, directed by 'Deadpool & Wolverine' helmer Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Gosling. After 'Lost,' Carlton Cuse went on to develop 'Bates Motel' as he simultaneously served as showrunner on the FX drama 'The Strain.' More recently, he worked on 'Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan,' 'Locke & Key,' and 'Pulse,' Netflix's first medical procedural drama series. The younger Cuse is a writer and producer whose credits include 'The Leftovers,' 'Watchmen,' and 'Station Eleven.' This marks the dad and son's first project together. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Lifestyle Pistachio and Raspberry Cheesecake Domes Recipe News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Videos & Features Bouchra Dahlab Crowned Miss Arab World 2025 .. ‘Star Wars' Show in the Works From ‘Lost' Head Carlton Cuse and Son Nick Cuse
A new 'Star Wars' streaming series is in the works from Carlton Cuse, the showrunner and executive producer of 'Lost,' according to media reports. His son Nick Cuse will also be behind the upcoming series. Little is known about what the series will be about, who its central characters will be or where it will take place in the timeline of the beloved sci-fi franchise. Other 'Lost' principals have been involved in the 'Star Wars' galaxy – 'Lost' co-creator J.J. Abrams directed 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' and 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.' Damon Lindelof, who co-created 'Lost' with Abrams and who served as showrunner alongside Cuse, was writing a Rey-centered spinoff film but was replaced by another creative team. Carlton Cuse is a prolific creator and producer, whose post-'Lost' credits include 'Bates Motel,' 'Jack Ryan,' 'Locke & Key' and Netflix's recent medical drama 'Pulse.' His son, Nick, has written episodes of 'Watchmen' and 'The Leftovers,' both for Lindelof. He also co-wrote the screenplay for controversial thriller 'The Hunt,' also with Lindelof. This week the second (and final) season of 'Andor' starts airing on Disney+, which serves as a prologue to 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,' itself a prequel to the original 1977 'Star Wars.' There is a second season of 'Ahsoka' coming soon, but beyond that word on live-action 'Star Wars' series from Lucasfilm and Disney+ are as quiet as the abandoned rebel base on Crait. ‘Ne Zha 2' Passes ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens' to Join Top 5 Highest Grossing Films Ever With $2.08 Billion
China's highest grossing film of all time, 'Ne Zha 2,' has passed one more milestone in its historic run. This past Sunday, it surpassed the global total of 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' to join the top five highest grossing films of all time before inflation adjustment. Unlike the Hollywood productions that make up the rest of the list like 'Avatar,' nearly all of the film's $2.08 billion global total has come from domestic audiences in China, with only $31 million coming from overseas. More than 300 million tickets for 'Ne Zha 2' have been bought by Chinese moviegoers, a number that nearly matches the 340 million of the entire estimated United States population. Thanks to the unprecedented popularity of 'Ne Zha 2' in China since its Lunar New Year launch, the film has exceeded the unadjusted $2.06 billion total grossed by 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' in the winter of 2015-16. Prior to that, it passed 'Inside Out 2' to become the highest grossing animated film of all time in just three weeks of theatrical play. The first 'Ne Zha' was the debut project of the franchise's studio, Chengdu Coco Cartoon, and grossed $742 million at the box office. Similar to breakout Hollywood animated sequels like 'Moana 2' and 'Inside Out 2,' years of subsequent play on streaming helped build up the hype for 'Ne Zha 2' by the time it hit theaters during the lucrative Lunar New Year box office period. As China's local film industry continues to grow in leaps and bounds, 'Ne Zha' has proven to be a key milestone. TheWrap reported last month that the film provides Chinese audiences with something they have never had the chance to enjoy before: a locally produced animated film made with the feature production quality of a movie from Disney or DreamWorks, but rooted in a story from traditional Chinese mythology and culture. And that has been enough to make 'Ne Zha 2' the first $2 billion animated hit, joining a top five all-time list that includes the two 'Avatar' films, 'Titanic' and 'Avengers: Endgame.'
