Marks for ‘lecture demonstration', ‘experience' to help jobless teachers
Kolkata: Ten marks have been allocated for 'lecture demonstrations' and 10 for 'teaching experience' have been introduced in the new exam module, meant for the recruitment of state school teachers, which was rolled out on Friday. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The new categories have been created to give some edge to the teachers from the 2016 SSC recruitment panel, who lost their jobs after the Supreme Court order, over freshers at the exam, the online application for which will be open from June 16 till July 14. The age cap for candidates has been relaxed to 40 years, according to the order on the fresh selection process for assistant teachers for classes 9-12. CM Mamata Banerjee had earlier indicated that in the new exam rules, marks would be awarded for interviews, lecture demonstrations and teaching experience and all eligible candidates who appeared for interviews would be included. The modifications align with Supreme Court's judgment issued in April and the subsequent order on April 17. The SSC on Friday filed an affidavit in the SC, informing it about the roll-out of the new exam module, according to its order. The second State Level Selection Test 2025 will be held on a 60-mark OMR-based written test and 40 marks will be for other criteria. Candidates will be selected based on their scores in the written test, education qualification (10), teaching experience (10), oral interview (10) and lecture demonstration (10). Earlier, 55 marks were for the written test, 35 for qualifications and 10 for personality test. All candidates will be given a copy of their OMR sheets, which they can take away after submitting the original ones. The answer keys, which will be the basis of evaluation, will be published on the website before the results are published and candidates may submit suggestions or objections in five days. Subject-specific expert panels will look into those suggestions. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Candidates may view their OMR sheets online by paying a fee. The physical OMR sheets will be disposed of after two years, once the tenure of the exam panel expires, but their digital scanned copies will be retained for 10 years from the time the panel expires. But protesting SSC teachers are upset. Mehebub Mandal of Eligible Teachers' Rights Forum said, "The state seems to be in a hurry to hold the exams. They could invite applications after seeing the outcome of the review plea in the SC." Another teacher, Chinmoy Mandal, said, "Very few relaxations have been granted. How will the teaching experience benefits be determined for affected candidates?" State issues notice to recruit 35,726 school teachers
Kolkata: The state has issued a notice for the recruitment of 23,212 assistant teachers for classes 9-10 and 12,514 teachers for classes 11-12 at govt-aided and -sponsored secondary and HS schools. The exam modality will be rolled out on Friday, while online applications will be accepted from 5 pm on June 16 till 5 pm on July 17. Chief minister Mamata Banerjee had on Tuesday rolled out the roadmap for filling up of 24,203 teachers' positions at schools, rendered vacant after the Calcutta High Court SSC ruling and the Supreme Court's scrapping of the 2016 panel. She also announced the creation of 20,000 jobs in schools. The process, Banerjee had said, would start on May 30—a day before the SC's May 31 deadline for the state—with a recruitment ad, and end with counselling, which would start on Nov 20. This is the Mamata Banerjee administration's biggest school recruitment drive till date. There would be modification of rules for this second State Level Selection Test 2025 to bring in more transparency, an official indicated. This time, candidates will be provided with carbon copies of their OMR sheets, which they can keep after submitting the original sheets. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo Earlier, both question booklets and OMR sheets had to be submitted before leaving the exam halls. Following the practice in other competitive exams, SSC, too, will release answer keys for the first time. An official pointed out that OMR sheets and their mirror images would be preserved for at least three years from the announcement of results, to avoid any debate, like that in the current impasse. Earlier, question booklets and OMR sheets were preserved for one year only. The lapses in preserving scanned images of OMR sheets were the main evidence that led to 25,752 teachers and staff members losing their jobs. Among the other probable measures is the video-recording of interviews, the footage of which will be preserved for future reference. The recruitment panel will be active for one-and-a-half years, instead of the earlier one year. Teachers, who lost their jobs, will be given age-cap relaxation, and their experience will be considered during the recruitment process. After the gazette notification, SSC will upload the vacancy breakdown on the website and issue the ad. "Age relaxation will be offered so that everyone can take the test. We will also give an advantage to those with work experience," the CM had said. The relaxations might work to the advantage of teachers who lost their jobs, said an official.
