This according to today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908. Inter Milan have relied on veteran experience a lot in the last few seasons. Stefan de Vrij joined the Nerazzurri from Lazio in the summer of 2018. Having been 26 when he joined the club, the Dutchman is now 33. Report – Aging Netherlands & Italy Stars To Stay At Inter Milan This Summer

Veteran defenders Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi are both set to stay at Inter Milan this summer transfer window. This according to today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. De Vrij joined Inter in the summer of 2018 from Lazio. Meanwhile, Acerbi as been at the Nerazzurri since 2022, also arriving from the Biancocelesti. There is no getting around the fact that both de Vrij and Acerbi are well on the wrong side of thirty, however. De Vrij will turn 34 over the next season. Meanwhile, Acerbi will turn 38. (Photo by) According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, however, Inter have no plan to offload either de Vrij or Acerbi this summer. It is undoubtedly true that one of Inter's priorities this summer is to lower the average squad age. And in multiple areas of the pitch, the Nerazzurri have done just that. However, in defense Inter are sticking with de Vrij and Acerbi. Both of the two ex-Lazio veterans see their contracts with Inter run out at the end of next June. And there would be little chance of either sticking out beyond then. However, for now, Inter will keep the reliable veterans on.

Report – Inter Milan Going All-Out To Sign Parma Teenage Sensation Before Transfer Window Closes

Inter Milan are reportedly going all-out to sign teenage Parma defender Giovanni Leoni this summer. This according to today's print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They note that signing Leoni would require a fee of at least €35 million. The Corriere dello Sport note that Inter have been seriously thinking about signing Giovanni Leoni for months. In fact, the Nerazzurri had already tried to sign the teenager from Sampdoria last summer. But his outstanding form at Parma has truly solidified their interest. Behind the scenes, the Corriere report, Inter believe Leoni will be the future bedrock of the Italian national team's defense. Furthermore, centre-back is a priority position for Inter to reinforce. They must find a long-term heir to Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij in the centre of their back three. (Photo by) The Corriere further note that Inter do not have any other targets in mind for the centre of the back three. That is a testament to the fact that the Nerazzurri see Leoni as the absolutely ideal target. Furthermore, Inter feel that time is of the essence to sign the 19-year-old. There is interest in Leoni brewing from the Premier League. Liverpool are considering a move, whilst Parma have already turned down a €35 million bid (possibly from Tottenham Hotspur or Newcastle United, according to the Corriere). Moreover, Inter are only expecting Leoni's value to increase next season. Therefore, the Corriere report, Inter are going all-in. They will make a big push to sign Leoni before the summer transfer window slams shut. Considering that Parma have rejected a €35 million offer already, that would obviously be the minimum amount required.

Report – Inter Milan To Move For Parma Star With Proceeds From Sales This Summer

Inter Milan are aiming to move for Parma defender Giovanni Leoni with the proceeds from some sales this summer. This according to today's print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. It is certainly no secret that Inter Milan want to sign Giovanni Leoni this summer. The Nerazzurri had already targeted the teenage defender last summer. However, it was Parma who secured his signature instead. And Leoni has had an outstanding first season in Serie A with the Emilian club. So much so, in fact, that the 19-year-old has convinced Inter that he can be the future in their defense, where the likes of Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij are aging out. Meanwhile, the fact that Cristian Chivu has already worked with Leoni at Parma makes the player an even more attractive target for the Nerazzurri. Inter Aim To Move For Giovanni Leoni After Summer Sales MILAN, ITALY – DECEMBER 06: Giovanni Leoni of Parma Calcio is put under pressure by Marcus Thuram of FC Internazionale during the Serie A match between FC Internazionale and Parma at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on December 06, 2024 in Milan, Italy. (Photo by) Leoni is not going to come cheap, though. If Parma are going to sanction a sale of the 19-year-old defender, they want to cash in. And Inter have already made a few signings this summer. And that's before their targeting of Ademola Lookman. Therefore, Inter will need to drum up the cash to make a move for Leoni in the final weeks of the transfer window. As the Corriere notes, Inter have already brought in €26 million in transfer fees this summer. Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are on the verge of selling Sebastiano Esposito to Cagliari. That will represent a further €6 million. Inter are also hoping to offload the likes of Mehdi Taremi, Kristjan Asllani, and Tomas Palacios. Therefore, the Nerazzurri are hoping that the proceeds of these sales can get them in a position to make a suitable offer for Leoni, reports the Corriere.
