Cloughbawn win Over-35 derby against Shelburne with goal from Kennedy
After a hard fought-game, it was the away side who claimed the points and the bragging rights for a few weeks at least as a Stephen Kennedy goal midway through the first-half proved to be the difference. In this group's other game played in Danescastle on Friday evening, home side Corach Ramblers went top of the table after a somewhat disjointed display against a hard-working Duncannon. Corach were two up inside the first ten minutes after a double from Brian O'Connor. To their credit the visitors got back into the game and went close on a couple of occasions. A penalty from Barry Molloy pulled a goal back, but Alan Diskin made sure of the points late on for the home side. In Crystal Script Engraving Group B, Ballymurn Celtic hosted All Blacks and after a good hard game the sides couldn't be separated. Paul Walsh was on target for the home team and Mark Corish replied for the visitors. Crossabeg entertained Taghmon United in the game of the night as an end-to-end contest developed and the two teams went toe-to-toe. Two wonderful 30-yard free-kicks from Vinnie Sullivan and Fergal Buckley for Crossabeg were bettered by a Seamie McLoughlin brace and an own goal. In Group C, Kilmore United hosted Rosslare Strand and, after an even opening 20 minutes, the home side proved too strong for their opponents and ran out convincing 6-0 winners. Craig McGuire hit a hat-trick along with a goal apiece for Jay Malone, Devin Furlong and Stevo Redmond. In the group's other game, Rosslare Rangers lost their first league tie in over two years as Forth Celtic made the trip down worthwhile, returning home with the three points to blow this group wide open. Gorey Celtic and Arklow Town shared the points in a great game of football. John Lavery and Ger Carey were on target for Celtic, with Willie Kavanagh and Gavin Doyle replying for Arklow.
