Steven Yeun to voice Zuko in 'The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender' animated film
The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, the upcoming feature-length addition to the Avatar universe, has finally confirmed the actor behind one of its most iconic characters. Steven Yeun, widely recognised for his roles in The Walking Dead and Invincible, will voice the adult version of Zuko, Aang's one-time enemy, later friend and mentor, in the 2026 animated film. Yeun's casting had sparked speculation earlier this year when he was announced as part of the film's ensemble in an unspecified role. Many fans assumed he might reprise his part as Avatar Wan from The Legend of Korra, but creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko confirmed during San Diego Comic-Con that Yeun is now stepping into the role of Fire Lord Zuko. Konietzko stated, 'Steven Yeun was Avatar Wan. He played the first Avatar in The Legend of Korra. We loved working with him, and we're excited to have him back in the universe.' Although it's still unclear whether Yeun will also return as Wan, the creators emphasised their excitement about his expanded role in the Avatar world. Joining Yeun are Eric Nam, Jessica Matten, Román Zaragoza, and Dionne Quan as Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Toph, respectively. The film explores Team Avatar's adult lives and bridges the narrative gap between The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. The film is directed by Lauren Montgomery and co-directed by William Mata, with DiMartino and Konietzko producing. It's slated for release on October 9, 2026.

INVINCIBLE Scores Early Season 5 Renewal at Prime Video, Matthew Rhys Joins Season 4 — GeekTyrant
Prime Video isn't done with one of its biggest animated hits. Invincible has officially been renewed for Season 5, long before Season 4 premieres in 2026. The renewal comes just months after the explosive Season 3 finale in March, which broke records as Prime Video's most-watched animated season of all time, according to the streamer. This early greenlight continues a pattern for Invincible as Season 4 was ordered months before Season 3 launched, and the show's third season was locked in not long after its debut in 2021. Clearly, Prime has zero doubts about this series' staying power. Adding to the excitement, Emmy-winning actor Matthew Rhys ( The Americans, Perry Mason ) has joined the voice cast for Season 4. His role is still under wraps, but creator Robert Kirkman hinted during an interview that fans can expect a major comic book villain to finally make an appearance. 'It would certainly be weird if [Thragg] didn't show up in the show,' Kirkman said. 'I mean, I don't know. It's so tough. Here's what I'll say: He's been cast and he's amazing.' While Kirkman didn't confirm who Rhys is playing, there's a good chance that the actor could be lending his voice to the ruthless Viltrumite leader himself. Season 4 is shaping up to be a big one, and the show is already racking up accolades. Invincible recently earned its second-ever Emmy nomination, with Steven Yeun scoring his first nod for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance. Yeun returns alongside Sandra Oh and J.K. Simmons to round out the stellar cast. With Season 5 now officially on the way and major players joining the roster, it looks like Invincible is just getting started. Amazon Studios We don't know yet who Rhys will voice in "Invincible," but one possibility is the villain Thragg. The ruler of the Viltrum Empire, Thragg is the chief antagonist of the "Invincible" comics and has yet to show up in the series. "Invincible" creator Robert Kirkman previously told Variety that the upcoming Season 4 would feature the screen debut of Grand Regent Thragg, though there's no telling whether or not it will be Rhys voicing the bad guy. "It would certainly be weird if [Thragg] didn't show up in the show," Kirkman said. "I mean, I don't know. It's so tough. Here's what I'll say: He's been cast and he's amazing." While it's good news for "Invincible" that it's received an early Season 5 renewal, it shouldn't be particularly surprising. The show was renewed for its fourth season before Season 3 saw the light of day, and likewise was renewed for Season 3 before Season 2 streamed. It also shouldn't be too surprising considering the show's stellar performance. Season 3 of "Invincible" proved to be Amazon Prime's most watched animation season of all time.
