Luke Bryan Says He's Gotten Confused for Another Country Star In His Hometown: 'That Has Been My Worst Thing'
As it turns out, Luke Bryan has a country music doppelgänger! During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday, April 15, the "Play It Again" singer revealed that he was once mistaken from Blake Shelton in his hometown. "My gas station that I live nearby... one of the attendants that works the cash register [mistook] me for Blake Shelton. That has been my worst thing in the neighborhood," Bryan, 48, revealed. "He was so convinced. He's like, 'You're Blake Shelton. Tell me about being Blake Shelton.' He goes, 'Do you get that a lot?' I said, 'Not much,'" he recalled. Bryan then joked, "I said, 'Oh, what it must be like.'" Kimmel, 57, proceeded to ask Bryan who does have more money and Bryan confidently said "me." Bryan's friendship with Shelton, 48, goes way back. In April of last year, the "Sangria" singer told PEOPLE that Bryan pitched a spinoff of Shelton's Barmageddon show titled Farmageddon. "He's got a lot of stupid ideas, but he's got a lot of ideas," Shelton joked of the alcohol-infused farm-based pitch. "He's constantly trying to come up with what's next. That's why he's been so successful, because he never stops thinking and stuff. Eventually he hits on something." Meanwhile, in 2022, Bryan joined Ty Bentli on Apple Music Country's The Ty Bentli Show and addressed the field feud between them, claiming that he's the better farmer. Then He Predicts She'll Make Top 10 "He's pretend farming," the "Drink a Beer" singer said of Shelton, as the host asked what Shelton does "down there" on his Oklahoma ranch. "I mean, he's just putting out like wild grasses — stuff that literally will grow on Mars," Bryan said. "I'm actually planting stuff that human beings can enjoy. I'm not feeding a bunch of rabbits and moles and stuff. Blake's farming earthworms and stuff." As of late, Bryan has resumed his position as judge on American Idol and he's gearing up for his annual Farm Tour, which kicks off on May 15. Then, on May 29, he'll embark on his Country Song Came on Tour. Read the original article on People
