Social media users identified the couple as Andy Byron, CEO of Astronomer, and Kristin Cabot, the company's Chief People Officer. It was soon reported that the woman seen in the video was not Byron's wife, prompting speculation about a workplace affair.
By Friday afternoon, the
Astronomer
confirmed that both Byron and Cabot had been placed on leave pending a formal
investigation
. In a public statement, the company said:
'The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter… Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.'
Multiple news outlets reported that Byron is in negotiations for an exit package. As of Saturday, neither Byron nor Cabot has publicly commented on the matter.
