Vijay Sethupathi BREAKS Silence On Sexual Abuse Allegations: 'Family Upset; Complained To Cybercrime'

Vijay Sethupathi has denied the allegations and said that anyone who knows him will laugh at the accusations. Veteran actor Vijay Sethupathi has finally reacted to the allegations of sexual exploitation levelled against him by an X user. Speaking to Subhash K Jha from Deccan Chronicle, Vijay Sethupathi has denied the accusations, calling them filthy. He said that while his family is upset, he remains unaffected. The actor also revealed that he has filed a complaint with the cybercrime department. Vijay Sethupathi said, 'Anyone who knows me even remotely will laugh at this. I know myself too. This kind of filthy accusation can't upset me. My family and close friends are upset, but I tell them, 'Let it slide. This woman is obviously doing it to be noticed. She has her few minutes of fame, let her enjoy it.'" He added, 'We've complained to cybercrime. I've faced all kinds of whispering campaigns for seven years. Such targeting has not affected me so far. It never will." The actor also said that the timing of the allegations is suspect. He said, 'My new film is doing well. Probably, some jealous elements think that by tarnishing me, they can damage my film. It doesn't work that way." He added, In today's day and age, anyone can say anything about anybody. There are no filters. All you need is an account on social media, and you can write what you like without fear of repercussion." For the unversed, the accusations against Vijay Sethupathi have been made by an X user named Ramya Mohan. The X post has now been deleted. Ramya claimed that Vijay Sethupathi has sexually exploited a girl she knows. The post read, '@VijaySethuOffl has offered Rs. 2L for 'caravan favors', Rs. 50k for 'drives' and acts like a saint on social media." The post also mentioned, 'This isn't one story. It's many, and the media worships these men like they are saints. The drug-sex nexus is real. Not a joke." The post also mentioned that 'drugs, manipulation, and transactional exploitation disguised as industry norm" is rampant in Kollywood. The X post has since been deleted, but not before it caught the attention of several social media users. DISCLAIMER: This news piece may be triggering. Aamir Khan Skips Andaz Apna Apna Screening After Pahalgam Terror Attack: 'I've Been Badly Affected'

The recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, has sent shockwaves across the country, prompting several members of the film industry to cancel or postpone events in solidarity. Among them is actor Aamir Khan, who chose to skip the special screening of his iconic 1994 comedy Andaz Apna Apna, which is set for a theatrical re-release on April 25, 31 years after its original premiere. In a conversation with journalist Subhash K Jha, Aamir explained the emotional toll the tragedy had taken on him. 'I was reading reports about what happened at Pahalgam in Kashmir. I have been badly affected by the senseless killing of innocents. I was in no state to go (to the preview). I will see it sometime later this week," he said.
