Interdist smuggler held
Chatra: Giddhaur police arrested a smuggler of Khunti with 2.225 kg of opium near Bariatu on Chatra-Hazaribagh main road on Wednesday.
The arrested smuggler has been identified as Sukhram Hassa Purti (22) of Sarvada Kevra village of Murhu police station area of Khunti district.
Sources said Chatra SP Sumit Kumar Agarwal received a tip off that a smuggler is active in the Bariatu area on Chatra-Hazaribagh road.
After the information, a raid team was formed under the leadership of Simaria sub divisional police officer Shubham Khandelwal. After this, the raid was conducted and thesmuggler was arrested with 2.225 kg of opium, a mobile and a backpack. The arrested youth was sent to judicial custody after an FIR was lodged under the NDPS Act against him.
