SAF Chief of Staff visits DSEI Japan 2025 expo
Vice Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF), visited the Defence and Security Equipment International 'DSEI Japan 2025' exhibition, held in Tokyo. The SAF Chief of Staff and his accompanying military delegation toured the exhibition and the various companies participating in the DSEI Japan 2025. He also attended several discussion panels held at the sidelines of the exhibition. Meanwhile, Vice Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces met here with General Yoshihide Yoshida, Japan's Chief of Staff of the Joint Staff. During this meeting, the two sides discussed several matters of mutual interest. The meeting and the DSEI Japan 2025 opening ceremony were attended by Dr Mohammed bin Said al Busaidy, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Japan.

Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies website launched
MUSCAT: The Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies held its 2025 annual gathering at Al Shafaq Club of the Sultan's Armed Forces. The event was held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs. On this occasion, HH Sayyid Shihab launched the academy's official website ( and reviewed its key electronic services, designed to support academic, scientific and strategic research. HH Sayyid Shihab commended the academy's national role and praised the efforts of its leadership in achieving its objectives. He urged the participants of the 12th National Defence Course and the 38th Leadership and Staff Course to continue developing plans, policies and systems that enhance the academy's academic framework and keep pace with evolving educational and strategic advancements. The event was attended by the Commandant of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies, the Commandant of the National Defence College, the Commandant of the Joint Command and Staff College, the Head of the Centre for Strategic and Defence Studies, senior officers, strategic advisers, academic representatives and participants of the 12th National Defence Course and the 38th Leadership and Staff Course. - ONA

SAF commemorates Battle of Badr in Salalah, Muscat
MUSCAT/SALALAH: The Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF) commemorated the anniversary of the Battle of Badr with religious celebrations held at Umm Al Ghawarif Camp Mosque in the Wilayat of Salalah and Murtafa'a Camp Mosque in Muscat. In Salalah, Brigadier General Pilot Malik bin Yahya al Numani, Commander of Salalah Air Base, presided over the event. Civilian officer Malik bin Mohammed al Saidi delivered a lecture on the significance of the battle in Islamic history, emphasising its religious and military values and their relevance in modern military life. He also highlighted the virtues of Ramadhan and the importance of instilling Islamic principles in youth. SAF commemorated the anniversary of the Battle of Badr in Muscat Meanwhile, in Muscat, the event was organised by the Moral Guidance and Military Protocol Department at the SAF Chief of Staff and was attended by Air Vice Marshal Khamis bin Hammad al Ghafri, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman. Shaikh Zaher bin Abdullah al Abri, in his lecture, reflected on the divine support that led to victory at Badr and stressed the need for preparedness, morale-building and strategic planning in military life. Chief of Staff meets military leaders in Iran
TEHRAN: Lieutenant General Abdullah bin Khamis al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces, met with several military leaders in the Islamic Republic of Iran during his official visit. On Tuesday, he met with Major General Dr Mohammad Baqeri, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, at the Iranian General Staff headquarters in Tehran. An official reception ceremony was held upon the Lieutenant General's arrival, with a group of the Guard of Honor saluting him. Subsequently, the Chief of Staff reviewed the Guard of Honor alongside the Chief of Staff of the Iranian General Staff. The Iranian Armed Forces Chief of Staff warmly welcomed his Omani counterpart and their respective military delegations. They exchanged views and discussed areas of military cooperation between the two friendly nations.
