Miscreant held in Chatra with arms
Chatra: An armed miscreant, posing as a TSPC extremist, was arrested from a forest near Khamdih village under the Lawalong police station limits on Friday, police said. Superintendent of police (SP) Sumit Kumar Agarwal on Saturday said, "Acting on inputs that Jamadar Ganjhu alias Pahadi Ganjhu was present in the forest area, a team, led by Simaria sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Shubham Khandelwal, conducted a search operation and arrested Ganjhu. The miscreant is a resident of Kanwatari village in Lawalong block. Three country-made rifles, a country-made pistol, 92 live rounds, TSPC posters, two mobile phones, camouflage uniform have been seized." A case number 57/25 has been registered against the arrested accused under sections 308(2)/308(3)/61(2)/3(5) of the BNS, sections 25(1-A)/25(1-B)/26/35 of the Arms Act, and sections 17(1)(2) of the CLA Act. TSPC supporter held with bullets
1 2 Chatra: TSPC supporter Manoj Tigga was arrested with an AK 47 rifle and 83 pieces of 7.62mm bullets on Tuesday. SP Sumit Kumar Agarwal said acting on a tip-off, Tigga's house located at Khandhar village in Piparwar of Chatra district was raided by a team led by Tandwa SDPO Prabhat Ranjan Barwar. A case has been registered under Arms Act and CLA Act with the Piparwar police.

Drug peddler held, opium worth Rs 70 lakh seized
Chatra: Police have arrested a 19-year-old drug peddler Santosh Kumar and seized 23.35 kg opium worth Rs 70 lakh from his possession based on a crackdown based on a tip off, it announced on Friday. Two arrested with brown sugar in Chatra
Chatra: Two individuals were arrested with a consignment of brown sugar worth Rs 60 lakh near a football ground in Giddhaur block headquarters on Sunday. Police also seized an electronic weighing machine and five mobile phones of different companies from the spot. Based on a tip-off received by Chatra SP Sumit Kumar Agarwal, the team of Gidhaur police, formed under the leadership of Simaria SDPO Shubham Kumar Khandelwal, arrested the smugglers by conducting a raid near the football ground. However, the mastermind of the gang whom the police refused to name managed to escape from the spot. Police are conducting raids to arrest him. The arrested accused are Abhimanyu Kumar Saw, a resident of Gidhaur Teli Tola, and Nitesh Kumar, alias Triveni, alias Veni, a resident of Naukadih village of Jogiara under Pratappur police station limits. Agarwal said that during the police operation, the mastermind of the gang managed to escape from the spot. He said that the absconding smuggler has been identified. The team is continuously raiding all possible hideouts for his arrest.

Interdist smuggler held
Chatra: Giddhaur police arrested a smuggler of Khunti with 2.225 kg of opium near Bariatu on Chatra-Hazaribagh main road on Wednesday. The arrested smuggler has been identified as Sukhram Hassa Purti (22) of Sarvada Kevra village of Murhu police station area of Khunti district. Sources said Chatra SP Sumit Kumar Agarwal received a tip off that a smuggler is active in the Bariatu area on Chatra-Hazaribagh road. After the information, a raid team was formed under the leadership of Simaria sub divisional police officer Shubham Khandelwal. After this, the raid was conducted and thesmuggler was arrested with 2.225 kg of opium, a mobile and a backpack. The arrested youth was sent to judicial custody after an FIR was lodged under the NDPS Act against him.
