She decided it didn't suit her tastes and asked her fiancé, Sumit Sayani, to return it and request a refund. When the store refused a refund and only offered an exchange, tensions increased. This led to a series of shocking events that could have proved life-threatening. On July 19, Sayani entered the store carrying a knife. The video footage shows him confronting staff, slicing the lehenga into pieces, then lifting the blouse and tossing it onto the shredded outfit before storming off. He screamed threats, including: 'You'll be ripped apart like this, too. Give me my money back.' Social media reactions The intense scene was captured on CCTV and quickly circulated on social media. That very evening, she called the store to say she didn't like it and wanted to return it. The store told her that instead of a refund, they could give her a credit note, which she could use to buy something else from the shop within two months. A month later, Meghna visited the store again on a Saturday. A salesman informed her that they were running a stock clearance sale and asked her to come back the following month. Soon after, her fiancé, Sumit Sayani, came into the showroom and demanded a refund. When the shopkeeper refused, he pulled out a knife and tore the lehenga apart, according to a complaint filed by the manager of Nakshatra showroom. Other customers in the store were scared by the scene. The complaint also says that Sumit demanded Rs 3 lakh and threatened to leave a bad review about the store's service on Google. Sumit was arrested but was granted bail soon after. According to Suraj Singh Gaund, senior inspector at Bazarpeth police station where the complaint was filed, the man admitted that he acted in a moment of anger.

Mumbai: A man, brandishing a knife, threatened a shopkeeper in Maharashtra that he would cut him up. Reason: a lehenga, which wasn't up to his soon-to-be bride's expectations. His fiance bought the lehenga for Rs 32,000 from a popular garment store in Kalyan, 57 km from Mumbai, a few days ago. However, she returned to the shop Saturday evening. This time, to return the stitched piece as it wasn't to her liking. The shopkeeper, however, refused to give a refund and asked her to buy another item for the same price. His refusal angered the woman's fiance, Sumit Sayani, so much that he pulled out a black knife from his pocket, ripped the blue lehenga, and even trampled on it. Mr Sayani then walked up to a counter and damaged the blouse that came with the lehenga, slashing it with the knife. He then threatened the shopkeeper: "I will cut you up like this, too. Give me back the money". The absurd incident was caught on CCTV installed in the shop. The shopkeeper was then seen picking up the torn lehenga from the floor, calmly walking away, while Mr Sayani was seen agitatedly pacing around the store. After a complaint, Sumit Sayani was arrested by Kalyan's Bazaarpeth Police.
