Emergency services were called to Lyons St in Terang abut 6.40pm Tuesday after reports a Ford utlity vehicle and an e-scooter had collided. Police are yet to identify the teenager, but Terang residents have already penned tributes to the e-scooter rider. 'A beautiful kind hearted soul taken (too) early,' a person wrote online. The fatal crash comes days after 12-year-old Summah Richards was killed while riding an e-scooter abnout 3pm Saturday on Vaux St in Laidley, regional Queensland, after colliding with a Holden Barina. It is legal to ride an e-scooter in Victoria, but riders must be at least 16 years old, wear a helmet and ride on the shared footpath. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Summah Richards, aged 12, tragically died in Laidley, Queensland, after she fell in front of a car while riding an e-scooter and tributes have been paid to a "remarkable young girl" A 12-year-old girl 'whose bright energy was boundless' has tragically died in an e-scooter crash with a car. Summah Richards is understood to have fallen into the path of a car in the town of Laidley, Queensland around 3pm last Saturday. Police are now investigating the tragedy and it said the incident happened on Vaux Street with the e-scooter appearing to fall into the path of a grey Holden Barina. ‌ Emergency services rushed to the scene but despite the best efforts of paramedics Summah was declared dead at the scene. Stacey Ardrey, the best friend of Summah's mother Teigan, has remembered Summah as 'a remarkable young girl with such a vibrant spirit'. 'Summah was the kind of soul who could light up any room simply by being in it,' she said in a fundraiser for the family. Her playful nature was contagious, always ready to laugh, and bring joy to those around her. 'Whether she was popping up from behind a corner which she did often and with a mischievous grin or throwing herself into an adventure with pure excitement, Summah's bright energy was boundless.' The youngster was only in the first year of high school but had ambitions of being a nurse one day. 'Her love wasn't just seen, it was felt. With her big brown eyes, full of wonder and kindness, she made everyone feel special,' continued Stacey on the GoFundMe page. 'She had a heart that cared deeply, always looking out for others with a tenderness beyond her years. Summah's ability to show love so freely and authentically left a lasting impact on all who were lucky enough to know her. "Her infectious smile and the warmth of her spirit will forever be remembered—she will always be the playful, loving soul who brought light into every room. ‌ "Summah sweet angel, you will forever be remembered and felt in our hearts. Your wild sense of humour will be missed but never forgotten. A mother's love will never end." The statement from Queensland Police on the tragedy read: "The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating after a 12-year-old girl died following a vehicle and e-scooter crash in Laidley this afternoon, April 19. "Initial investigations indicate that both vehicles were travelling south on Vaux Street and around 3pm the rider of the scooter has fallen into the path of a grey Holden Barina on Vaux Street. The rider of the scooter, a 12-year-old Laidley girl, was declared deceased at the scene. "The driver and passenger of the vehicle were not physically injured. The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the circumstances of the incident and are appealing for anyone with relevant dashcam/CCTV footage to come forward. Investigations are ongoing."

Investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the death of a girl who was struck by a car while riding an e-scooter

Inquiries are continuing into how a schoolgirl lost control of her e-scooter and was tragically killed during the Easter long weekend. Initial reports suggested Summah Richards, 12, was walking her scooter along a road in Laidley, west of Brisbane before she was struck by a car about 3pm on Saturday. Investigations have since indicated she was riding the scooter when she fell into the path of a Holden Barina heading in the same direction. Summah died at the scene, despite the efforts of emergency responders to revive her. The driver and passenger in the grey hatchback were uninjured. An investigations into the tragedy is still in its early stages. 'To lose a young person like that to a fatal traffic crash is really tragic and my heart goes out to the family and the friends of that young person who has been taken away from the family much too early,' Road Policing and Regional Support Command Acting Chief Superintendent Garrath Channells told the ABC. 'It would appear that the child has lost control of the e-scooter … [resulting] in the individual falling off the scooter and coming to the ground in front of a moving vehicle, which has collided with the child. 'Our specialist investigative unit from the forensic crash unit will work through the full investigation, but at this early date that is what appears to have occurred.' Summah's death has rocked the local community who have rallied behind her devastated parents and brothers. She had just started high school and been remembered as a remarkable young girl with a vibrant spirit. 'Summah was out in the world living her best life doing what children do,' family friend Stacey Ardrey wrote. 'Summah was the kind of soul who could light up any room simply by being in it. Her playful nature was contagious, always ready to laugh, and bring joy to those around her,' she wrote in a tribute online. 'Whether she was popping up from behind a corner which she did often and with a mischievous grin or throwing herself into an adventure with pure excitement, Summah's bright energy was boundless.' Flowers and toys were seen left in a touching memorial near to the crash site over the weekend. One note, left by a friend, accompanied flowers and a packet of Summah's favourite gum read: 'in memory of you, missed 4ever by all your friends and family'.
