Has Karrion Kross been released by the WWE? Explaining the controversy surrounding his status with the promotion

Karrion Kross on August 11 confirmed that he is no longer with the WWE and added that he will soon be taking independent booking. Scarlett, his wife and manager, too has apparently been let go by the company. While this seems to be legit, there may be more to the situation. Veteran journalist Dave Meltzer has stated in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that everyone backstage is 'skeptical' about whether this is a shoot. This suggests that the whole thing may just be work. He had also earlier stated that WWE offered Kross and Scarlett contracts ahead of the end of their current deals. This has further added to the mystery surrounding their status. Karrion Kross released: Is it a work? WWE, like most pro wrestling companies, is a storyline-driven product. In fact, the whole business thrives on Kayfabe (making things that aren't real look real). Keeping this in mind, the scenario may just be WWE's way of testing his popularity and bringing him back when the time is right. If this happens, the angle may have shades of the recent fiasco involving R-Truth. In case you did not know, 'Ronnie' was released by the WWE a few months ago. He, however, returned at Money in the Bank and helped Cody Rhodes-Jey Uso beat Logan Paul and John Cena. This came after the company faced intense backlash from fans. Triple H, the head of WWE's creative team, described it as a work, but Truth maintained it wasn't. Going down this route would help the company bring him back as a face and give him a push. Karrion Kross to return as a heel? The WWE in recent years has constantly tried to blur the line between reality and storyline. The injury angle with Seth Rollins is a case in point. 'The Visionary' lost his match against LA Knight at Saturday Night's Main Event after 'injuring' his knee. This was described as a legitimate setback and Rollins was even seen on crutches backstage during Evolution. However, it was eventually revealed that he wasn't injured. The injury was part of a storyline and he returned at SummerSlam Night 1 to cash-in his MITB contract on a vulnerable CM Punk. This again suggests that the Karrion Kross contract situation may just be another angle. In this case, he could return as a heel and target some popular stars. Karrion Kross' rise in the WWE is undeniable Kross had emerged as a bankable mid-card heel over the last few months courtesy of his mic skills. His segments with AJ Styles and Sami Zayn were well-received. He also received a push when he squared off against the Canadian star at Night of Champions and SummerSlam, losing on both occasions. His stint with the WWE is seemingly over for now but the company's track record suggests that there may be a twist in the tale.

Did Nikki Bella give WWE the okay to use her past relationship with John Cena to cut a promo with Becky Lynch?

Becky Lynch and Nikki Bella (Image via WWE) From loud cheers to a sudden silence, and then a chant of "holy sh*t" turned the fans inside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, into a complete frenzy. What seemed like any other promo being cut by two divas of the wrestling promotion turned out to be very different from what anyone expected when Becky Lynch brought up Nikki Bella 's past relationship with John Cena during their segment on Monday Night RAW on August 4. But did Nikki Bella, aka Nikki Garcia, give WWE the permission to bring up such a personal matter on the show? Becky Lynch and Nikki Bella's RAW promo took an unexpected turn After her win against Lyra Valkyria at SummerSlam 2025, Becky Lynch made an appearance the next night at RAW for some good old gloating. She said that now that Lyra could not challenge her for the title anymore, she was open to new challengers. She was about to continue when none other than Nikki Bella showed up and, after a mocking congratulations, she started going off on the WWE Women's Intercontinental Champion, saying Nikki was disappointed in Lynch and the latter didn't deserve any glory. The back and forth continued for a while before Lynch dropped a bomb. Bella had made a comment on Lynch's husband, Seth Rollins , who after pretending to be injured, appeared at the end of SummerSlam Night 1. He cashed in his Money in the Bank suitcase to defeat a newly minted World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk, and took that belt and title for himself. Nikki said that both he and Lynch were liars, but The Man knew just how to shut her opponent up. "Me and my hot husband are the greatest wrestling couple of all time," she began before adding, "But, wait a minute, at one point, that would have been you and your ... oh, wait, you can't see him anymore!" Lynch, for better effect, used Cena's iconic "You Can't See Me" gesture to add insult to injury. Nikki looked visibly shocked and the crowd went wild at the mention of their past relationship. But, the important question here is: Did Nikki Bella give WWE the permission to use her personal life to cut promos or was this yet another unsanctioned mess? Did WWE have permission from Nikki Bella? While fans can't know for sure, viewers are assuming that WWE had the permission from Nikki Bella to use her personal life while cutting a promo. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Pirates Climb Aboard Cargo Ship - Watch What The Captain Did Next Tips and Tricks Undo After all, fans have already seen what such unsanctioned dissing during promos can lead to. The fans, and Charlotte Flair, are yet to get over what Tiffany Stratton said back in April. The incident with Lynch wasn't even the first time that tidbits from Nikki Bella's own life were used by her opponents to add spice to their rivalry. Previously, when Nikki and Liv Morgan were supposed to start a feud before Morgan's unfortunate injury, the latter had done something similar. "I have respect, I have a championship, and I have a man," Morgan had said, mentioning Nikki's divorce to her ex-husband, Artem Chigvintsev. Given this has happened more than once, fans are assuming the diva gave her okay for the promotion to use these bits in her promos. The match see-sawed the duration. And it would not be complete without Scarlett trying to interfere for her partner, this time with a steel pipe, and then distracting the referee. But in this match-up, Zayn managed to take the win over Kross once again after a Helluva Kick to his Stratton faced Jade Cargill in the shorted match of the night, which finished in just over seven minutes. Stratton showed Cargill why she is the reigning champion and retained her belt. This high octane match began even before the bell rang as Logan Paul punched Jelly Roll, leading to a heated exchange between all four wrestlers. The fight was heated, with each one of them trying to gain the upper hand. Roll was almost led off the stage by officials after a splash by Paul turned way too much for the celebrity wrestler. Becky Lynch Played Her Part Perfectly in Deceiving Fans About Seth Rollins' Injury A few weeks ago, Rollins appeared to suffer a knee injury during a match against LA Knight at Saturday Night's Main Event, casting serious doubt on his availability for SummerSlam. Rumors swirled about the injury's legitimacy or just a cleverly executed smokescreen. Adding fuel to the fire, Rollins' wife, Becky Lynch, posted photos of him on crutches, helping sell the idea that he was genuinely sidelined. A video of Rollins limping with their daughter made rounds on social media. The act worked as fans and insiders alike believed Rollins was out of action. After Rollins pulled off another heist of the century to ruin Punk's night, Becky Lynch wasted no time rubbing it in. She posted a video in the aftermath of the cash-in with a sly caption, 'Don't believe everything you see on the internet #SummerSlam.' In the video, Lynch quipped, 'Oh, I'm sorry, were some of my posts misleading?!? Hahaha!' The clip showed Rollins gleefully throwing down the crutches he had used to sell the fake injury, confirming it was all an elaborate ruse. Her wicked laugh said it all! The news first broke on Friday, and by Saturday afternoon, Lynch added fuel to the speculation with an Instagram post featuring a teaser clip set to a new track by American rock band The Wonder Years. Founding member Casey Cavaliere confirmed what many had suspected, commenting on the post: 'Best in the game. So hype on how this track came together! Thanks for trusting us.' The video included a powerful voiceover from the reigning Women's Intercontinental Champion herself, sending a clear message to the WWE women's locker room: "I have given my life to this. I have broken bones for this. I have bled for this, I am this. And you want me to what? Step aside? Pass the torch? Not a chance in Hell. I have made this what it is today, and I have never been better than I am right now. You want it? You better fight me for it, because I am no one's shadow."
