I Prevail Part Ways with Founding Vocalist Brian Burkheiser

The post I Prevail Part Ways with Founding Vocalist Brian Burkheiser appeared first on Consequence. I Prevail and vocalist Brian Burkheiser have mutually parted ways. Burkheiser, who served as the metalcore band's clean-singing vocalist since its formation, had previously stepped away from the group to battle Eagle's syndrome, an uncommon disorder caused by an elongated or misshapen bone just below the ear, or an issue with a related ligament. The condition causes severe nerve-like pain in the jaw bone and joint, back of the throat, and base of the tongue, triggered by swallowing, moving the jaw, or turning the neck. Get I Prevail Tickets Here I Prevail have already been touring without Burkheiser for some time, with co-vocalist/growler Eric Vanlerberghe handling the lion's share of the singing, backed up by guitarist Dylan Bowman on additional vocals. The band officially confirmed the permanent split with Burkheiser via the following statement in an Instagram post on Thursday (May 15th): 'To Our I Prevail Family: Today we share that we are mutually parting ways with Brian Burkheiser. This was a difficult decision, but we believe it is the right one and we are all grateful for the 10 epic years we shared together. We wish Brian nothing but success and happiness in his future endeavors. Moving forward, Eric will continue to be the powerhouse frontman you've come to know and love. He'll be backed up live by Dylan who you've seen in this role many times over the years at the shows we've performed without Brian. Rest assured, we will continue to deliver the high-energy shows that we've made a pillar of our band, and we will continue to perform all the bangers from our catalogue. All scheduled shows will go on exactly as planned. New music coming soon… See you out there. Eric, Steve, Dylan and Gabe' The news comes as I Prevail prep for a major tour as part of the massive 'Summer of Loud' metalcore package alongside co-headliners Beartooth, Killswitch Engage, and Parkway Drive. The outing is set to launch on June 21st in West Palm Beach, Florida, with tickets available here. Below you can see I Prevail's social media statement announcing the departure of Brian Burkheiser. Generate Key Takeaways The post Parkway Drive Unleash 'Sacred,' First New Song in Three Years: Stream appeared first on Consequence. Parkway Drive have released a new one-off single entitled 'Sacred' — their first new song in three years. The Australian metalcore band return with an aggressive tune that vocalist Winston McCall described as an 'anthemic wrecking ball of positive energy.' Big riffs are complemented by overarching lead melodies that give the track a symphonic flare; meanwhile, McCall shouts his words with a grizzled snarl. Get Parkway Drive Tickets Here 'Our lives and the way we exist in the world has been pushed further and further through the lenses and frames of negativity and hopelessness,' McCall said of the song in a press release. 'Obsession with everything we lack, everything we hate, everyone we blame, everything that keeps us down. We sell the unique parts of us most precious just to buy back manufactured pieces of self in order that we may feel whole again. 'Sacred' is our identity. 'Sacred' is our time. Never lose sight and never lose hope.' The arrival of the track is timely, as Parkway Drive are set to co-headline the 'Summer of Loud' metalcore tour in the coming months. Beartooth, I Prevail, and Killswitch Engage are also on the bill for the massive tour package, which launches on June 21st in West Palm Beach, Florida. Get tickets here.
