These updates are set to transform how enterprises manage, analyze, and activate data in the AI era. The company revealed enhancements across data engineering, compute performance, analytics, and agentic AI. These innovations aim to eliminate data silos and connect enterprise data to business action. At the same time, they maintain control, simplicity, and governance. James Petter, Vice President, Snowflake EMEA, stated that the new updates redefine what organizations can expect from a modern data platform. He emphasized that the company's goal is to make AI and machine learning workflows more accessible, trusted, and efficient. Snowflake introduced Snowflake Openflow, a multi-modal data ingestion service now generally available on AWS. It enables users to connect to nearly any data source and drive value from any architecture. Openflow removes data fragmentation by unifying formats and systems. The service is powered by Apache NiFi™, automating data flow between systems. It allows data engineers to create custom connectors in minutes, running them on Snowflake's managed platform. It supports a wide range of sources like Box, Google Ads, Proofpoint, ServiceNow, Workday, and Zendesk, among others. Key capabilities include: Hundreds of ready-to-use connectors Integration with cloud object stores and messaging platforms Snowflake also revealed new compute innovations. These include Standard Warehouse Generation 2 (Gen2), now generally available, which offers 2.1x faster performance. Another addition, Adaptive Compute, is now in private preview. This feature automatically sizes and shares resources for better performance and lower costs. The company reported the upcoming release of Snowflake Intelligence and Cortex Agents, both in public preview soon. These tools enable users to ask natural language questions and get insights from structured and unstructured data. Powered by models from Anthropic and OpenAI, they run securely within Snowflake. Another announcement was the Data Science Agent, now in private preview. It helps data scientists by automating tasks like data preparation, feature engineering, and model training using Anthropic's Claude. According to Snowflake, more than 5,200 customers, including BlackRock, Luminate, and Penske Logistics, are already using Cortex AI to transform their operations. The company also introduced SnowConvert AI and Cortex AISQL. These tools support fast and cost-effective migration from legacy systems and enable generative AI-powered SQL analytics. Both are designed for high performance and efficiency. Additionally, Snowflake revealed updates to its Marketplace. New agentic products like Cortex Knowledge Extensions will soon be available. These allow enterprises to enrich AI agents with third-party data while ensuring data protection and attribution. Users can access content from The Associated Press and other providers. At the summit, Huawei revealed the winners of its 'Imagine Wi-Fi 7 to Reality' Program (Season 3). Nine projects from the Middle East and Central Asia were honored for showcasing innovative, practical Wi-Fi 7 applications. The program, launched in January 2025, attracted numerous technology leaders and innovators. Participants submitted impactful use cases in sectors such as education, finance, healthcare, and manufacturing. According to Huawei, the winning projects demonstrated replicable models that accelerate Wi-Fi 7 adoption across diverse verticals. Shawn Zhao, President of the Campus Network Domain at Huawei's Data Communication Product Line, reported that the program is acting as a catalyst for digital transformation. He emphasized Wi-Fi 7's potential to transform how industries operate and deliver services. Huawei also announced the launch of Season 4 of the program. This new phase will be conducted in collaboration with IEEE and other industry partners. It aims to expand globally and explore innovative Wi-Fi 7 use cases in enterprise environments. The program will also focus on developing Wi-Fi 7 expertise and fostering collaboration among customers and partners. Huawei's leadership in Wi-Fi innovation continues to gain recognition. In 2024, the company was again named a leader in the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Enterprise Wired & Wireless LAN Infrastructure. Huawei also received the Gartner® Peer Insights™ Customers' Choice for the fifth consecutive year. AI-powered iCSSR (intelligent coordinated scheduling and spatial reuse), which reduces interference and boosts speed in dense environments. The company also introduced Wi-Fi Shield, an AI signal scrambling technology that enhances air interface security. Huawei remains the top global contributor to WLAN standards, with significant input in Wi-Fi 7 standardization. The company's R&D investments continue to shape wireless networking technology. KUALA LUMPUR, May 20 (Bernama) -- The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) will conduct a two-day simulation exercise for the ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council (ASEAN-GCC) Summit 2025, starting tomorrow, involving the movement of leaders' convoys around the capital. PDRM, in a statement today, said that the exercise would be carried out based on the actual times, involving main routes to and from the official conference venues. "The exercise on May 21 involves the movement of ASEAN member states' convoys, while May 22 will involve GCC member states," the statement said.

Yesterday, the media reported that six highways and 25 main roads in the capital would be closed and diverted in phases in conjunction with the 46th ASEAN Summit, which is taking place this week.
