Inside Hrithik Roshan's luxurious Mumbai family home: Cozy personalized wall to classic interior

Step into the Roshan family residence in Mumbai, and you'll quickly sense that this is no ordinary celebrity home. With shimmering chandeliers, jewel-toned sofas, and thoughtfully curated interiors, the space exudes elegance, but it's the warmth and lived-in charm that truly set it apart. In an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, Sunaina Roshan, sister of actor Hrithik Roshan, opened up about the emotional depth and memories tied to their family home. 'We moved here around 2001 or 2002. Before this, we lived in a much smaller house just across the street,' Sunaina recalls. 'That first home was compact but full of heart. It was the first house Dad bought after renting for so many years. We were always close, literally and emotionally.' The Roshans' living room space The Roshans' current home, in contrast, is expansive, tastefully designed, and filled with cozy corners and personal touches. The living room, a blend of maroon and deep blue sofas beneath a gleaming chandelier, makes a bold yet inviting statement. A large dining table sits at the heart of the space, symbolic of the family's long-standing bond over shared meals. 'Food has always been a big part of our lives,' says Sunaina. 'I used to be a foodie. Dad still is. And my nephew loves food, too. Mom jokes that if Hrithik wasn't an actor, he'd be in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's biggest foodie!' Hrithik, now living independently, still holds the family home close to his heart. The house has evolved with the family over the years. Each member contributed to the interior design, making it a true reflection of their personalities. Sunaina Roshan's bedroom Sunaina planned her bedroom herself, while the rest of the space was a collaborative effort involving their parents and Hrithik's ex-wife, Sussanne Khan. 'We wanted to keep it simple, not flashy,' she explains. 'Your home should reflect who you are.' Watch the full video here: The Roshans' card room and family photo wall This authenticity is visible in every room, from the elegant family photo wall filled with cherished memories to the card room, where filmmaker Rakesh Roshan continues a decades-old tradition of playing cards with close friends. The card room seems like a retreat corner in the house after a busy day at work. 'That card room is Dad's sanctuary,' Sunaina smiles. 'He's been playing with the same group of friends for over 40 to 45 years. It's never just about the game, it's about bonding, unwinding, and reliving memories.' The bar area, where Rakesh Roshan often entertains, is another favorite corner. His meticulous eye for detail and deep pride in the home shine through. 'He's very house-proud,' Sunaina says. 'He's always suggesting where new pictures should go.' Though luxurious, the Roshan home never feels impersonal. It's a place of nostalgia, laughter, quiet dinners, and vibrant get-togethers. It tells the story of a family that's close-knit, grounded, and full of love. As Sunaina puts it, 'For me, home means family. And family means togetherness, love, unconditional love, and support. That's what makes a house truly a home.' From its glamorous aesthetics to its emotional core, the Roshan family home is more than just a house. It's a living legacy of love, memories, and connection.

HC disposes Rajendra hosp power outage case after compliance report by govt

1 2 3 Patiala: The Punjab and Haryana high court has disposed of a revival application in the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) concerning repeated power outages at Rajendra Hospital, Patiala, after reviewing compliance affidavits submitted by senior govt officials. The PIL, filed by advocate Sunaina earlier this year, sought court directions to ensure uninterrupted regular power supply in all govt and semi-govt hospitals across Punjab. It was originally disposed of on Feb 25, 2025, based on an undertaking by the chief secretary, Punjab, affirming that automatic switchover systems would be installed by March 1 in various departments of Rajendra Hospital, Patiala. However, following a fourth major power failure on April 15 — severely affecting critical facilities, including the maternity ward and operation theatre — Sunaina filed a revival application, calling the recurring outages "an administrative failure" and warning of continued risks to public safety. Taking note, the chief justice directed both the chief secretary, Govt of Punjab, and the managing director of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) to submit affidavits detailing whether automatic switchover systems were installed, their current functionality, and the reasons for any non-compliance. In an affidavit dated May 21, the chief secretary confirmed the installation of automatic switchover systems in all 19 diesel generator (DG) sets, expansion of UPS coverage to nine additional critical areas, and administrative steps, including transferring DG maintenance responsibilities to the PWD B&R Electrical Division from Jan 25 onwards, when a high-level meeting was held under health minister and principal secretary of Medical Education and Research. Meanwhile, the MD, PSPCL stated that no disruption occurred in PSPCL's primary power supply to the hospital at the time of the reported failure, suggesting a possible gap in hospital-level backup response rather than external power issues. Despite the contradiction, the high court, satisfied with the govt's compliance measures and undertakings, disposed of the revival application, bringing the litigation to a close. The court also directed the petitioner in person to file a fresh petition if and when a new cause of action arises of a future power outage incident at Rajendra hospital Patiala. The case sparked wider discussions on the state of emergency preparedness and infrastructure accountability in Punjab's healthcare system. ‘Before this, we lived in a small house right across the street': Take a look inside Hrithik Roshan's family home

Walking into the Roshan family home, you're immediately struck by how personal and comforting the space feels. It's elegant, yes—with its chandeliers, jewel-toned sofas and thoughtfully chosen interiors—but there's also a softness, a lived-in warmth that tells you this house isn't just about style. It's about family. In a recent video tour, Sunaina Roshan, sister of actor Hrithik Roshan, offered a rare glimpse into their Mumbai home and spoke from the heart about what the house means to her. 'For me, home means family. And for me, family means togetherness, love—unconditional love and support. That is what family means to me.' The house has been theirs since the early 2000s, a step up from the modest home they once lived in just across the street. 'We moved into this house around 2001 or 2002—it's been about 24 or 25 years now. Before this, we lived in a small house right across the street. That was the first house dad bought after renting for so long, so it had a lot of emotional value. It was small and cozy, and the rooms were so close that we always interacted—it was a real joint family home.' When it came to their current home's interiors, everyone had a part to play. 'I planned my own bedroom. But it was mom, dad and Suzanne who did most of the house. We're simple people and wanted to keep it minimal, not flashy. I really believe your house reflects who you are.' The dining table—always a focal point in Indian homes—holds years of memories. Sunaina shares how food has been a big part of their lives. 'I used to be a foodie—let me put it that way. Dad still is, and so is my nephew. My mom always jokes that if my brother wasn't an actor, he'd be in the Guinness Book of Records as the fattest man—he loves food that much!' From quiet dinners to lively parties, the home has seen it all. Especially their father, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, who is deeply proud of the space. 'He's very house-proud. He'll always say, 'There should be a picture here, and another one there.' He entertains his friends near the bar—that's his zone.' The house even includes a dedicated card room, a favourite hangout for Mr Roshan and his long-time friends. 'He's been playing with the same group of friends for over 40–45 years now. It's more about bonding than cards.' As for Sunaina, she loves interiors—but prefers small updates. 'I love playing with colours, changing my upholstery every five or six years. I don't have the patience to paint walls or break stuff anymore!'

Hrithik Roshan's sister Sunaina recalls falling off beds during alcohol addiction, opens up about conditions in rehab centre: ‘Didn't sleep for 28 days'

Hrithik Roshan's elder sister, Sunaina Roshan, has been quite vocal about the health crises she's faced throughout her life. From battling tuberculosis and cancer to dealing with alcohol addiction, Sunaina has braved it all. In a new interview, she opened up on how she turned to alcohol and had to seek rehab to recover from the same. 'I was just going through a very vulnerable stage, probably after fighting tuberculosis and cancer. I had a lot of illnesses, like a bad attack of Zoster Herpes. I was just tired of fighting. I said I can't take this anymore, I need some help. I took to alcohol because I was very, very vulnerable,' said Sunaina. In the interview with Pinkvilla, Sunaina recalled that she soon realised that alcohol is not the solution. 'After a month or so, I didn't like myself drinking from morning to night or in the evenings. That's the only phase I disliked myself. Dad had bodyguards. He did everything for me not to drink. But obviously, if an alcoholic drinks once, they just get it,' added Sunaina. Injuries became common to Sunaina, thanks to alcohol addiction. 'I used to fall off beds and chairs. I used to get marks on my bodies. Not cuts, but my skin would turn red or blue. Once you start drinking and are at that vulnerable stage, your body wants more and more, each and every single day. And it's a very vicious cycle. Because once the alcohol effect is down, you get anxiety and palpitation, you are dehydrated. So to cover up for all that, you drink more. I'd advice everyone to not depend on any substance because for those many months, you feel good, but the aftereffects are bad,' explained Sunaina. She then went to her parents, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan and Pinkie Roshan, asking them to admit her into a rehab overseas. 'In India, you pay people money, they'll still get it (alcohol) for you on the sly. It's an easy source, no matter where you're in India. I told them I want to get cured because this is not me, succumbing to something like that,' said Sunaina. She then went to a 28-day addictive treatment programme, in which she was confined to a room and was 'grilled' by six-seven counsellors. 'I didn't sleep for 28 days. They just asked you questions one after the other, just taking it all out of your system. We had our breakfast by 6-6:30. No perfumes, no sugar, no chocolates, nothing that's addictive,' added Sunaina. In the same interview, Sunaina recalled how she hated going to school. However, that wasn't because she got any differential treatment as Rakesh Roshan's daughter. 'At that time, dad wasn't doing well at all, as an actor or even as a producer. Nobody treated us as star children. Never,' said Sunaina, but maintained that school felt like 'jail' to her. 'I hated studies. I nearly failed all my standards. But then of course, life taught me real life lessons, which are better than studying through books. And I proudly say that today, after fighting battling so many illnesses,' added Sunaina. She also revealed that Hrithik also faced a lot of bullying for his stuttering.

When Hrithik Roshan locked himself in the bathroom and started crying: Father Rakesh Roshan recalls heart-breaking moment

Agencies Hrithik Roshan, despite his family's Bollywood legacy, faced significant challenges, including a childhood stammer. His sister, Sunaina, revealed his dedicated speech therapy, waking up at 4:30 AM daily. His father, Rakesh Roshan, recalled Hrithik's intense determination to overcome his speech impediment, Hrithik Roshan stands out as a major figure in the Hindi cinema world, celebrated for his exceptional performances, striking appearance, and remarkable talent on the dance floor. As a member of the illustrious Roshan family, many assume his rise in Bollywood was smooth and effortless. However, the reality of his path has been quite the opposite. Beneath the glamour and spotlight lies a story defined by perseverance, relentless effort, inner confidence, and the strength to push through adversity. One of the biggest hurdles Hrithik had to tackle from a young age was his struggle with a speech impediment—specifically, stammering. In a heartfelt conversation with Pinkvilla, Hrithik's sister, Sunaina Roshan, shed light on how he overcame this personal challenge. She revealed that Hrithik was so determined to improve his speech that he would begin his day at 4:30 AM to attend special speech therapy sessions. According to Sunaina, his commitment was unwavering, and she admired how dedicated he was in gradually overcoming the issue. 'He did a lot of work to stop stuttering. Hats off to him. I remember him waking up very early to practice,' she asked if she ever defended Hrithik from bullies during their childhood, Sunaina admitted that she was quite young at the time and soon got married, making it difficult for her to play that role. However, she emphasized that their family was always united, especially during times of health concerns or personal struggles. Interestingly, she described Hrithik as someone who naturally assumed the role of the older sibling, even though she is technically older. 'He's always protected me like an elder brother. That's the kind of bond we share,' she added fondly. In a separate interview with ANI, Hrithik's father, director Rakesh Roshan, spoke about a particularly emotional moment from his son's past. He remembered Hrithik locking himself in the bathroom, determined to say the phrase "Thank you, Dubai" without stammering. Rakesh expressed how painful it was to watch his son—who was intelligent and articulate—feel insecure because of his speech difficulty. 'He would get stuck on the letter 'D' and wouldn't come out until he got it right,' he said, admiring his son's willpower. Rakesh proudly mentioned that Hrithik has not struggled with stammering for over a decade now. Known affectionately as the 'Greek God of Bollywood,' Hrithik burst onto the scene with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, directed by his father. The film turned him into an overnight star. Since then, he has headlined numerous blockbusters, including Koi Mil Gaya, Dhoom 2, Jodhaa Akbar, and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. He is currently preparing for his next major release, War 2, alongside Kiara Advani.
