How to save money on summer essentials SUNNIER days and warmer weather will leave many of us wanting to kit out gardens and outdoor areas. Sun Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to get a great deal on summer essentials… It pays to know how to bag big savings on the likes of hot tubs paddling pools, egg chairs and outside bars. Many retailers have flash sales across entire ranges – often this ties into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends. Sign up to the mailing lists of your favourite brands and you'll be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too. Keep a close eye on the specialbuys at Aldi and middle of Lidl drops which drop a couple of times a week and usually mean great value seasonal items such as beach gear and paddling pools. If you are not in a hurry to buy an item, try adding it to the shopping cart and leaving it for a couple of days. Sometimes big brands will try to tempt you into the sale by offering you a discount. Always check if you can get cashback before paying. It's especially worth using sites such as Topcashback, Quidco and app Jamdoughnut when buying bigger ticket items such as garden furniture as you'll get a nice kickback.

Paddling pool that's perfect for the hot weather slashed to just £10 from £20 at major chain

PARENTS have gone wild for the perfect £10 paddling pool as temperatures soar. Families are racing to get their hands on the fun garden activity after it was slashed in price down from £20. The Bestway Rectangular Paddling Pool, from Argos, offers plenty of room for little ones to splash about in. It's a whopping seven-foot in length - or alternatively a nine-footer can be picked up for £17.50 down from £35. The incredible deal was shared by a savvy shopper in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook group. She wrote: "Not sure if helpful to anyone but these pools are reduced in Argos, we were able to click and collect 9ft one straight away! Kind of underestimates the size of it in my tine garden haha but kids will love it." Meanwhile someone else was gutted to miss out on the deal. "I just bought one full price!" They moaned. If this paddling pool doesn't take your fancy, another mum found a bargain in Smyths. The best part is you don't have to blow it up, dogs can't pop it and it folds down tiny for storage. Liv took to her TikTok page to post a video raving about the £64.99 Portable Folding Pool she nabbed from her local Smyths Toy Superstores. I'm mum in one of the world's cheapest families - we wash our crocks in the paddling pool and have barely any furniture, but have saved almost £24k In the clip, she showed how easy it was to put the pool up - unfolding it from the box and pulling out the stands attached to the sides for added stability. Liv was then seen filling the pool up, before adding some inflatables and a kids' slide for her daughter to enjoy in the water. " Highly recommend!" she captioned her video. "No dogs popping it, no blowing it up & deflating it - literally open it up and fold it back down!" In another video, Liv responded to people questioning how "sturdy" the pool is, as she demonstrated by giving it a push. While she could push the sides inwards a little, it wasn't enough to cause any water to flow out of the pool. Whereas from the inside, the sides were impossible to push outwards. Keep bugs out of your pool this summer One of the easiest ways to keep bugs out of your pool is to cover it with a dark sheet (like bin bags) when it's not in use. This can also help keep the water warm for kids as well. Bug traps around the pool can also be useful. To naturally stop bugs from coming around you can plant such as lavender, basil or mint as they hate the smell. Meanwhile, shoppers hunting for a paddling pool more suitable for tots found the perfect fit in Argos. And, the hot weather essential is scanning for 50 percent off. Priced at as little as £7.50 - down from £15 - Argos's kids paddling pool holds up to 26 litres and takes just 5 minutes to inflate. The Bestway 3ft Sunny Days Shade Paddling Pool is flying off shelves as parents rush to nab the "soft" inflatable pool in time for this week's hike in temperature. Measuring 101x97x20cm, it's designed for children over the age of 2 under the direct supervision of an adult. It also has a UV sunshade providing a safe space for kids to splash around in out of the sun. Delighted parents have called the paddling pool "great value for money" with one saying it makes for some "really cute photos". One said: "Loved this for our one year old, sun shade and low level water was perfect." Whilst another added: "I was lucky enough to get this in the sale and I'm so pleased with it. It comes as temperatures soared to highs of 26C today. Thousands of sunseekers packed out parks and beaches to bask in the sunshine. And temperatures are set to rise even more when the mercury hits 29C in parts tomorrow.

Scotland to Enjoy Three Weeks of Sunshine with 25°C Heatwave The Met Office has forecast glorious conditions with highs of up to 29C by Wednesday and Thursday. Sunny spells are due to grace large parts of Britain, with some light rain expected in northern Scotland. Advertisement Met Office meteorologist Craig Snell said: "We're certainly on track to see the warmest spell of the year so far." He added how the conditions are higher than average for this time of year. At the end of April it is usually about 12C in the north and 16C in the south, so some areas could be more than 10C higher than the average. But records for April and May are unlikely to be broken as the highest temperature for April stands at 29.4C, and May's record is 32.8C. Advertisement Met Office Chief Forecaster Matthew Lehnert said: 'We are not expecting the April UK temperature record to be broken, but some locations may nudge local records. 'Often warm spells are driven by warmer air arriving from further south, but the origins of next week's air are from Scandinavia and central Europe. "This air mass will be warmed by compression as the high pressure begins to build, and this warmth will be boosted by daytime heating from the April sun.'
