Eleventh Five-Year Plan's Supervisory Committee holds third meeting
Muscat: The Supervisory Committee tasked with drafting the 11th Five-Year Development Plan on Sunday held its third meeting at the Ministry of Economy. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Said bin Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Committee The meeting was aimed to ensure that the 5-year plan's preparation is proceeding in accordance with the approved timeframes and technical specifications. This meeting was in pursuance of efforts to formulate a comprehensive development plan that keeps pace with the approaches of Oman Vision 2040 and contributes to sustainable economic and social development in the Sultanate of Oman. The meeting focused on developing a clear-cut, comprehensive five-year plan that aligns with national priorities and responds to the citizens' aspirations for the forthcoming stage. The meeting also laid emphasis on the integration of roles of different government departments, sector establishments and civil society institutions—to ensure that the 5-year plan would be effective in meeting the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

Lebanese Presidency: We received 4 prisoners from the occupation
The Lebanese presidency said that the country received 4 prisoners held by the Israeli army during the last war and will receive a fifth prisoner tomorrow. The US Deputy Special Envoy to the Middle East had said that Israel will release 5 Lebanese prisoners. In another context, MP Qassem Hashem, a member of the Lebanese Parliament, said that the air and ground escalation, and the attacks that have affected all southern regions in recent days, confirm the aggressive nature of Israel. He added in statements to "Sputnik" that Israel did not abide by the ceasefire, and continues to nibble away at parts of Lebanese territory, to increase the area of the occupied land, without any action from the Supervisory Committee and the countries sponsoring the agreement.

Yemeni Universities to host 1st scientific conference on "al-Aqsa Flood"
Sana'a - Saba: The first scientific conference of Yemeni universities, titled "al-Aqsa Flood," will begin next Tuesday in the capital, Sana'a, with broad local and international participation. Dr. Abdullah al-Shami, head of the conference's supervisory committee, announced that the three-day event will focus on "al-Aqsa Flood" operation, examining its impact on the Arab and Islamic world, its effects on Israel, and significant military operations directed at global Zionism. The conference aims to explore the repercussions of the operation a year later, analyzing its influence on shaping the jihadist consciousness of the nation and its broader regional and global consequences. Over 100 research papers will be presented, covering various themes such as leadership, politics, history, culture, social issues, law, health, education, economics, media, and military affairs. Special emphasis will be placed on the role of leadership in al-Aqsa Flood battle and Yemen's support for the Palestinian cause. Dr. Fouad Hanash, Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Committee, highlighted that the conference is part of Yemen's broader efforts to strengthen resistance against the Zionist enemy through academic discourse and research. Meeting held to assess preparations for 11th Five Year Development Plan
Muscat: The Supervisory Committee of the 11th Five-Year Development Plan (2026-2030) today held its 2nd meeting of the year (2025) in Muscat. The meeting, aimed to follow up and assess the development plan's course of action, was chaired by Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy, Head of the committee. The committee reviewed the plan's current standing, which reflected good progress in its preparation, thanks to the efforts undertaken by 14 central teams comprising 281 members from 100 government and private entities, civil society institutions and individuals. The teams worked in accordance with a prescheduled timetable covering three basic stages: (1) Analysing the current situation; (2) Identifying the challenges and (3) Devising strategic programmes in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2024. In its discussion of priorities of the 11th Five Year Plan within the context of Oman Vision 2024, the committee laid emphasis on enhancing the growth of projects that are expected to provide greater added value to the national economy and generate more employment opportunities for Omani citizens The committee discussed the latest developments in preparing the plan's financial and economic framework, as well as future approaches and practical steps to ensure the compilation of a comprehensive development plan. The committee also stressed the importance of integration among various sectors to ensure realization of sustainable development in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
