The event, scheduled from 22 to 31 October 2025, will be the first time the Games are held in Bahrain, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The fourth meeting of the Supreme Organising Committee, chaired by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, reviewed progress made across the board, as the nation moves closer to delivering one of the biggest multi-sport events ever hosted on its soil. All Systems Go During the meeting, Shaikh Khalid was briefed on the latest updates from the Executive Committee. A detailed report highlighted the achievements and preparations completed by the working teams, from venue readiness and equipment procurement to logistical frameworks and sport-specific planning. The readiness of competition sites and related facilities remains a central focus, with an emphasis on meeting international standards and ensuring seamless athlete and spectator experiences. Foreign Ministry's Role The Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented its plan to help bolster international participation. Through diplomatic channels and government coordination, the ministry aims to support outreach and foster broader engagement from across Asia. Shared Responsibility and Confidence Shaikh Khalid reaffirmed the significance of royal patronage and called for intensified efforts in the lead-up to the Games. While acknowledging the time constraints, he stressed confidence in Bahrain's capabilities, from its people to its infrastructure, to deliver an unforgettable event.

18 Apr 2025 22:55 TUNIS (WAM) Under the patronage and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, the 32nd edition of the UAE President's Cup Series for Purebred Arabian Horses will commence on Sunday, April 20, at the Ksar Said racecourse in season's prestigious Cup features a total prize pool exceeding Dh15 million, making it the most valuable series in the history of Arabian horse reflects the wise leadership's commitment to developing the sport, supporting owners and breeders worldwide, and preserving the rich legacy of the Arabian Tunisian leg of the race will host 15 top contenders from Tunisia and North Africa, aged four and above, competing in a Group 1 race over a 2000m dirt track. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Ain Region, Al Ain City Municipality, in collaboration with Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, has announced the launch of the first edition of the "Hafeet Challenge" Ramadan Sports Championships. This initiative aims to promote community sports and instill a culture of challenge and constructive announcement was made during a press conference held this evening at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium. The event was attended by Hamad Nakhiraat Al Ameri, Managing Director of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club; Rashed Musabbah Al Maniei, Director General of Al Ain City Municipality; Salem Rashed Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee; along with department managers, club and municipality employees, organising committee members, team representatives, and media Rashed Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee, affirmed that the "Hafeet Sports Challenge" is a major sporting event that brings together various residential neighbourhoods in the city, along with its governmental and private institutions. He explained that the competitions will commence on the 5th of Ramadan and will continue until the 18th, creating an exciting atmosphere that promotes further noted that the highest organisational standards have been adopted to ensure a comprehensive sporting experience that meets the expectations of participants and spectators, under the supervision of Al Ain City Municipality and Al Ain Sports added that 36 teams will compete for the football title, including 24 teams from residential neighborhoods and 12 teams representing government and private institutions. Additionally, the championship will feature nine other sports, including volleyball, basketball, jiu-jitsu, running, cycling, shooting, padel, PlayStation gaming, and seven specialised competitions for people of determination. He revealed that the organising committee has allocated financial rewards exceeding AED 2.5 million. These include prizes for the top winners across various sports, as well as recognition awards for outstanding individual and team performances.
