Meet Bugatti's Beautiful New One-Of-One Hypercar: Brouillard

Update: This story has been updated with live photos and video from The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. Even for a brand as prestigious as Bugatti , exclusivity is everything. For some buyers, owning one of 250 Tourbillons or one of 500 Chirons isn't good enough. Instead, the wealthiest of Bugatti's clientele want something only they can own, and the company is introducing a new program aimed squarely at those buyers. Dubbed Programme Solitaire, Bugatti's new one-of-one service builds atop the brand's coachbuilding roots. It allows Bugatti's wealthiest collectors to create something truly unique—and truly exclusive. Photo by: Bugatti Programme Solitaire is even more exclusive than Bugatti's Sur Mesure customization program, which the company officially announced in 2021. Rather than simply allowing clients to customize existing models, Programme Solitaire lets them create their own custom Bugs, virtually from the ground up. The brand's first one-of-one commission is the stunning supercar you see here: The Bugatti Brouillard. Built atop Bugatti's ubiquitous W-16 platform—borrowed from the Chiron and Mistral—the Brouillard features a carbon-fiber and aluminum chassis, a quad-turbocharged engine, and 1,578 horsepower The Brouillard is heavily inspired by the convertible Mistral. Horizontal LED lighting elements adorn the front end, while darkened accents line the front bumper. Familiar arrow-shaped LED taillights stretch across the rear, while an illuminated "BUGATTI" wordmark sits front and center. But arguably the prettiest piece on the back end is the stylish fixed ducktail spoiler. Unlike the Mistral, though, the Brouillard has a roof. The fixed glass panel creates an airier cabin experience, while the center spine design element that flows seamlessly from front to rear is visible from inside the car. Photo by: Bugatti Photo by: Bugatti Photo by: Bugatti The interior itself combines custom-woven fabrics in a tartan pattern with green-tinted carbon fiber accents and machined aluminum elements. Embroidered horse motifs cover the door panels and seat backs—a nod to Ettore Bugatti's beloved horse—while the seats are molded specifically to the driver's preference. Even the machined aluminum gear shifter includes a glass insert of a miniature horse. 'To make something look simple is actually incredibly complex. The design has to integrate all of the technological aspects needed, all of the thermodynamics and aerodynamics of a 1,578-hp hyper sports car, while also following a core ethos—established both by us and the client—that the Brouillard was imbued with dignity.' — Frank Heyl, Bugatti Design Director Of course, Bugatti doesn't list a price tag for this one-of-one custom hypercar. If we had to guess, north of $30 million is likely a safe place to start. The Brouillard is one of just two custom models the company plans to build annually as part of its new Programme Solitaire. You can see the Brouillard in person next week at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, in Carmel, California. The Latest From Bugatti The Bugatti Tourbillon Doesn't Have Real Speakers. Meet the Bugatti Brouillard, a New One-of-a-Kind Hypercar

Bugatti is poised to begin making even more exclusive hypercars. The French marque has just announced the launch of the Programme Solitaire. The new department will specialize in one-offs, like the dazzling Brouillard that will make its public debut during Monterey Car Week. More from Robb Report This Designer's Bespoke $26.5 Million L.A. Home Has Olive Trees, a Sports Court, and a Spa This $34 Million Tudor Revival Mansion Offers a Slice of England Just Outside Boston Magic Johnson Was Just Shooting Hoops on the Deck of a 312-Foot Charter Superyacht Solitaire draws inspiration from Bugatti's coachbuilding roots, which trace all the way back to the brand's founding in 1909. The already bespoke division, called Sur Mesure, but while that program is focused on customizing its already existing models, Solitaire aims to give customers to ability to create a one-of-a-kind vehicle that has no equal. To help ensure this, it will build a maximum of just two 'masterpieces' per year. 'On a one-of-one, we have much more freedom in the reinterpretation of what Bugatti is, while maintaining the same absolute dedication to perfection in every detail; there will be no compromise to performance, quality, or design,' Hendrik Malinowksi, the automaker's managing director, said in a statement. And if Solitaire's first build is anything to go by, Bugatti's most well-heeled customers are in for a treat. The Brouillard is based on the Mistral and named after company founder Ettore Bugatti's favorite horse, a 'majestic thoroughbred with a coat as white as the first snowfall.' Despite this, the unique hypercar's aerodynamic body sports a two-tone finish that combines an unnamed shade of green with exposed carbon fiber. The vehicle's exterior is downright restrained in comparison to its interior. The cabin, which is completely visible through the glass roof, is clad in green and green-tinted carbon-fiber trim. The horse theme also comes through more clearly, with images of the animal embroidered into the tartan seat inserts and door panels. The gear shifter even features a glass insert with a sculpture of Ettore's horse. As striking as Brouillard may be, its headline feature is hidden away in the engine bay. There you'll find the legendary 8.0-liter W-16 that the company seems unable to fully say goodbye too. Accompanied by a quartet of turbochargers, the mid-mounted mill is capable of 1,578 hp, the same amount as the Mistral. No performance numbers have been released, but the open-top model can accelerate from zero to 60 in 2.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 261 miles. Unsurprisingly, Bugatti isn't saying how much the Brouillard costs, though it wouldn't be a complete shock if that number comes out during Monterey Car Week. Whatever it is, we expect it's well north of the Mistral's $5 million starting of Robb Report The 2024 Chevy C8 Corvette: Everything We Know About the Powerful Mid-Engine Beast The World's Best Superyacht Shipyards The ABCs of Chartering a Yacht Click here to read the full article.
