Meet the Bugatti Brouillard, a New One-of-a-Kind Hypercar

Yahoo2 days ago
Bugatti is poised to begin making even more exclusive hypercars.
The French marque has just announced the launch of the Programme Solitaire. The new department will specialize in one-offs, like the dazzling Brouillard that will make its public debut during Monterey Car Week.

Solitaire draws inspiration from Bugatti's coachbuilding roots, which trace all the way back to the brand's founding in 1909. The already bespoke division, called Sur Mesure, but while that program is focused on customizing its already existing models, Solitaire aims to give customers to ability to create a one-of-a-kind vehicle that has no equal. To help ensure this, it will build a maximum of just two 'masterpieces' per year.
'On a one-of-one, we have much more freedom in the reinterpretation of what Bugatti is, while maintaining the same absolute dedication to perfection in every detail; there will be no compromise to performance, quality, or design,' Hendrik Malinowksi, the automaker's managing director, said in a statement.
And if Solitaire's first build is anything to go by, Bugatti's most well-heeled customers are in for a treat. The Brouillard is based on the Mistral and named after company founder Ettore Bugatti's favorite horse, a 'majestic thoroughbred with a coat as white as the first snowfall.' Despite this, the unique hypercar's aerodynamic body sports a two-tone finish that combines an unnamed shade of green with exposed carbon fiber.
The vehicle's exterior is downright restrained in comparison to its interior. The cabin, which is completely visible through the glass roof, is clad in green and green-tinted carbon-fiber trim. The horse theme also comes through more clearly, with images of the animal embroidered into the tartan seat inserts and door panels. The gear shifter even features a glass insert with a sculpture of Ettore's horse.
As striking as Brouillard may be, its headline feature is hidden away in the engine bay. There you'll find the legendary 8.0-liter W-16 that the company seems unable to fully say goodbye too. Accompanied by a quartet of turbochargers, the mid-mounted mill is capable of 1,578 hp, the same amount as the Mistral. No performance numbers have been released, but the open-top model can accelerate from zero to 60 in 2.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 261 miles.
Unsurprisingly, Bugatti isn't saying how much the Brouillard costs, though it wouldn't be a complete shock if that number comes out during Monterey Car Week. Whatever it is, we expect it's well north of the Mistral's $5 million starting price.Best of Robb Report

Gianluigi Donnarumma: Man City told what to pay for Ruben Amorim's top target

Gianluigi Donnarumma is expected to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer. The French giants have made it abundantly clear: the Italian can leave. Lucas Chevalier has already arrived to take over as Luis Enrique's new number one, signalling a clear shift in the goalkeeping hierarchy. While Donnarumma may have hoped to remain at the Parc des Princes and deputise the new arrival, that option is off the table. Enrique's decision to leave him out of the UEFA Super Cup squad to face Tottenham Hotspur makes it painfully obvious his time in Paris is up. Premier League links intensify Donnarumma has been heavily linked with a move to England. Chelsea have quietly distanced themselves from the deal, suggesting they are not keen on his services. Manchester United, however, continue to be strongly linked with the 26-year-old. Over the weekend, reports claimed Donnarumma was open to a switch to Old Trafford. By Monday, fresh claims suggested United needed to offload players before finalising a move. Then on Tuesday, The Peoples Person reported that the Red Devils were now leading the race for his signature. City enters the frame Just as United's pursuit began to gather momentum, Manchester City are forcing their way into the picture. According to Fabrizio Romano, City have now made contact for the 6'5″ shot-stopper, adding one more rival to the chase. For United, the silver lining is that City would need to move on Ederson before making a concrete move, and Donnarumma has yet to give them the green light. Asking price now a major obstacle Despite the interest, INEOS may struggle to strike a deal. PSG are demanding €50 million (£43 million) for Donnarumma, a figure that is double what many expected. Factor in his hefty wages and lingering doubts about his form, and the deal becomes increasingly difficult to justify. Unless PSG lower their valuation and Donnarumma agrees to a massive pay cut, it is hard to see INEOS pressing ahead with the transfer. They may opt for Senne Lammens, another brilliant goalie, heavily linked with an Old Trafford switch. Feature image Buda Mendes via Getty Images online polls Follow us on Bluesky: @

Lucid Group (NASDAQ:LCID) shares rose Tuesday as the luxury EV maker revved up anticipation for Monterey Car Week 2025, unveiling plans for a new Gravity SUV–linked concept debut at Pebble Beach alongside public test drives of both its Air sedan and upcoming Gravity model. The concept is slated for the Concept Lawn during the 74th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on Sunday, August 17, marking a showcase for the luxury EV maker.
