ITV is about to release 'addictive' thriller that will keep you guessing

Is there anything better than a gripping thriller that takes your breath away at every suspenseful turn? In the world of television, I'm not sure there is. And that's probably what executives at ITV are thinking as well after their decision to add Apple TV Plus series Suspicion to their roster. Starring Pulp Fiction icon Uma Thurman, the eight-part series depicts five ordinary Brits who are accused of kidnapping the son of a prominent US media mogul. As twists and turns are revealed throughout, the five embark on a desperate race against time in order to prove their innocence. First released back in 2022, Suspicion has stayed fairly under the radar. But now, as ITV get set to bring the series to their streaming platform on June 15, fans have praised the show's dramatic plot twists that will have you guessing right until the very end. Writing on Rotten Tomatoes, Joly Herman from Common Sense Media said the series is: 'Dark, driving, and addictive, this thriller casts a keen eye on modern-day surveillance and social media.' Brad Newsome, from the Sydney Morning Herald, also said on the reviewing platform: 'The pace remains quick but the action remains coherent… Quickly engrossing.' Writing a google review, viewer David Samuel said: 'Brilliant series. Yes it's complicated at times, but that's the point, it's meant to be. It's a nice change not to be spoon-fed the plot but actually have to use your brain. Ric Souza, also writing on Google, added: 'This was an outstanding suspense thriller with a superb cast. If you like your stories simple, with a tidy endings, Suspicion may not be for you. 'It is a master mystery thriller that leaves you with several final Suspicions as to who the true mastermind(s) are.' However, it appears not all fans were equally as pleased with the direction the show took. In fact, many have expressed their disappointment in how it tailed off towards the end of the season. Writing on Google reviews, Gillian Salmon said: 'Pros are this is well paced, suspenseful and initially seemed to build up to a solid thriller. More Trending 'The cast play their roles well, even the blissfully naïve and annoying ones. But the moments of promise fail to launch to a believable and satisfying conclusion.' Seth, also writing on Google, said: 'The setup in the first couple of episodes was intriguing and got me hooked. Unfortunately, it takes a steep decline and by the time we get to the last episode, it's turned into complete garbage.' Meanwhile, another critic on Rotten Tomatoes, Dustin Rowles, said: 'There's not enough substance or character development here to hold our attention beyond the time it takes to click 'NEXT'.' 'Incredibly addictive' crime drama starring Hollywood legend finally made free to stream by ITV - as fans rave over twists that 'constantly keep you guessing'

ITV has recently acquired 'dark, driving, and addictive' drama Suspicion, making it available for non-Apple TV viewers for the first time. The show was hailed as complex and unique for its genre, and sports an impressive cast, starring Hollywood royalty, Uma Thurman. It follows the story of four British citizens who get wrapped up in a criminal investigation after the son of a wealthy American business mogul (Thurman) is kidnapped from the hotel they are staying at. As they find themselves in a transatlantic cat-and-mouse race to evade the combined forces of the National Crime Agency and the FBI to prove their innocence, it becomes apparent that not everyone can be trusted. Aside from A-Lister Thurman, the cast includes Elizabeth Henstridge (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Kunal Nayyar (The Big Bang Theory), Georgina Campbell (The Pale Horse, Black Mirror) and Lydia West (It's a Sin, Big Mood). In 2022, Suspicion went somewhat under the radar, due to Apple TV's comparatively smaller subscriber count than other platforms. However, some fans who did stream the series in 2022 noted its perceptiveness and attention towards modern-day social issues. It has also been praised for its fast-paced, captivating storytelling style, with one reviewer highlighting the refreshing complexity of the series: 'It's a nice change not to be spoon-fed the plot but actually have to use your brain.' Despite commendations for its complexity, some found the show's exposition to be too lengthy and convoluted, concluding it to be lacking in substance. 'Suspicion is a show consistently filled with incident, it can sometimes trick you into thinking it is complex' said one reviewer. Another echoed their frustrations: 'The show sends you down a rabbit hole full of confusing events that don't make sense.' But an opposing view disputed that, penning 'This isn't a bad thing at all; it makes Suspicion feel new and different from other investigative thrillers.' A glowing, five star review gushes: 'An incredibly addicting series in a genre that often disappoints! 'The character proves to be a strong point for sticking around as their depth and complexity keep you guessing.' The critical reception replicates the two interpretations of the show, with a mixed bag of reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, and a score of 48%. ITV certainly recognises Suspicion as being worth reanimation, as they invite UK audiences to form their own opinion on the thought-provoking whodunnit. Suspicion is set to arrive on UK screens in just under a month's time - it will be available to stream on ITVX from June 15th.

'Masterful' thriller finally completely free to stream after 3 years

A nail-biting thriller is finally landing on a free UK streaming platform. Starring Uma Thurman, all eight episodes of crime drama Suspicion are being added to ITVX next month. The show follows five ordinary Brits who must prove their innocence after being accused of kidnapping the son of prominent US media mogul Katherine Newman (Uma Thurman). Based on the Israeli series False Flag, Suspicion first landed on Apple TV Plus in 2022. On Google, viewers have hailed the thriller as 'incredibly addictive' and 'outstanding.' Among them was David Samuel, who wrote: 'Brilliant series. Yes, it's complicated at times, but that's the point, it's meant to be. It's a nice change not to be spoon-fed the plot but actually have to use your brain.' Echoing their sentiment, Maya Gutierrez said: 'An incredibly addictive series in a genre that often disappoints! The character proves to be a strong point for sticking around, as their depth and complexity keep you guessing. It's a classic 'who done it?'! Each episode builds on the tension that is built from the last without fluff! I would recommend to anyone who is very into the genre and is looking for something to be breezy fun!' Ric Souza added: 'This was an outstanding suspense thriller with a superb cast. If you like your stories simple, with tidy endings, Suspicion may not be for you. It is a master mystery thriller that leaves you with several final Suspicions as to who the true mastermind(s) are. There is no doubt as to the ethical, moral, and especially the scientific/political messages that reveal how our world has reached the current state of dangerous mistrust and cynicism. Brilliantly done!' However, not everyone was sold on Suspicion, with some viewers complaining it had numerous 'plot holes.' Seth shared: The setup in the first couple of episodes was intriguing and got me hooked. Unfortunately, it takes a steep decline, and by the time we get to the last episode, it's turned into complete garbage. The story turns into an incoherent mess that I lost all interest in, and the conclusion was so stupid and had so many plot holes. Monique Roberts-Drape commented: 'Ok, this series is complete trash. The acting was decent (although the 'trained killer' dude, Sean, put the over in over-acting), but the plot and the twist at the end were wholly improbable and quite frankly, stupid.' It also failed to impress critics, earning 48% on Rotten Tomatoes. If you can't wait until Suspicion arrives on ITVX on June 15 for your next thriller fix, viewers have been binge-watching the second season of Malpractice. It follows the investigation into Dr James Ford (Tom Hughes), who could be responsible for the 'devastating outcome' after he juggles treating an anxious new mother and the sectioning of a psychotic patient. More Trending 'New series of Malpractice on ITVX is excellent. Recommended,' X user Brian Bromley shared on Google. Echoing their sentiment, Andi wrote: 'Absolutely brilliant but so distressing.' 'Enjoyed that, have queued up the TV for the rest of the episodes,' Queen of Green declared. View More » Suspicion is coming to ITVX on June 15. Got a story? Joan Fontaine's Former Carmel Home Hits the Market for $6 Million

Throughout her lengthy five-decade career, Golden-Age Hollywood star Joan Fontaine racked up plenty of accomplishments. The younger sister of fellow thespian Olivia de Havilland appeared in more than 45 movies, garnering three Oscar nods for 'Best Actress' in the process and winning a golden statue in 1941 for her role as the timid wife in Alfred Hitchcock's psychological thriller Suspicion. Fontaine passed away in late 2013 at age 96. The following year, her longtime Central California home perched atop the Carmel Highlands and its contents—including that Oscar—were put up for auction, with the animal lover designating that the proceeds from the sale go to the Monterey chapter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Now the property has once again popped up for sale, asking a speck under $6 million. The listing is held by Tim Allen of the Tim Allen Properties Team at Coldwell Banker Realty. Tall double doors open into an entry foyer, which flows to a spacious living room warmed by a wood-burning fireplace. A hallway leads to the formal dining room, as well as a galley-style kitchen outfitted with a vintage double oven, a stainless refrigerator, and an accompanying breakfast nook. A walk-in pantry can be found across the hall, while a staircase descends to a lower level containing laundry facilities, a fireside family/game room, and a bedroom that's currently being used as an office.
