KTS Trading marks 50-year Suzuki partnership with Santubong beach cleanup

KUCHING (July 5): KTS Trading Sdn Bhd carried out a beach cleanup at Long Beach, Kampung Pasir Panjang in Santubong near here today in celebration of its 50-year partnership with Suzuki Marine. The initiative was held in conjunction with the Clean Up the World Campaign – Suzuki Clean Ocean Project, which brings together communities and businesses around the world to protect marine environments through beach cleanups, removal of marine debris, and promotion of ocean conservation. Around 35 participants, comprising KTS Trading staff and local residents, joined hands in the early morning to clear litter, plastics, and marine debris from the beachfront and surrounding areas. Among those who took part were KTS Trading representatives David Tang and Dominic Imau. KTS Trading said the cleanup was part of its ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability. 'This effort not only marks a milestone in our partnership with Suzuki Marine but also reflects our dedication to safeguarding the environment for future generations. 'We hope to leave a cleaner and healthier legacy for the future generations while also strengthen the corporate mission in building a sustainable future that is balanced between development and conservation of nature,' said a spokesperson from KTS Trading. The Suzuki Clean Ocean Project is a global initiative active in over 26 countries. To date, it has rallied more than 20,000 volunteers worldwide and successfully removed over 120 tonnes of marine waste. KOTA KINABALU (June 14): The 50th anniversary of the partnership between KTS and Suzuki Marine marks half a century of strong collaboration and shared success. To commemorate this meaningful journey, KTS and Suzuki Marine, together with the Kinabalu Yacht Club, had launched the 'Clean Up the World Campaign – Suzuki Clean Ocean Project' here on Saturday. This programme represented more than just a campaign, as it is a collective commitment by both parties to protecting the oceans and preserving coastlines for generations to come. The clean-up campaign is a global initiative by Suzuki Marine, bringing together businesses and local communities from around the world to clean up beaches, remove marine debris, improve ocean health and most importantly, raise public awareness about the importance of marine conservation. Since this global project began, it has reached over 26 countries, engaged more than 20,000 volunteers and successfully removed over 120 tonnes of marine waste from the oceans. The Saturday event not only celebrates the long-standing partnership between KTS and Suzuki Marine, but also marks the beginning of their anniversary series with a strong message of environmental responsibility. KTS Sabah operations manager Wong Kee Mee said moving forward, the company will continue to give back to society, promote sustainability and provide cleaner, more enjoyable boating experiences. Wong underscored their commitment to building a future where people and nature can thrive together. 'Today, we are joined by passionate volunteers from KTS, Suzuki Marine, the Kinabalu Yacht Club and members of the community. 'Their energy and participation show the power of working together towards a shared mission — to protect our precious marine environment.
