Excellent opportunities for agriculture, tourism sectors' growth in NTR dist
Vijayawada: Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare and NTR district in-charge Minister Satya Kumar Yadav said the district administration has prepared draft visionary action plan for the development of NTR district and its assembly constituencies based on local resources, strengths, and challenges and set the target of doubling the per capita income by year 2028-29. He said the per capita income of the district, which stood at Rs 3,21,651 in 2023–24, is targeted to reach Rs 6,38,946 by 2028–29 and Rs 62,88,851 by 2047–48. He chaired a review meeting held at district Collectorate conference hall on Saturday to discuss district and constituency-level vision plans and Swarnandhra P4 Foundation. District Collector Lakshmisha gave a PowerPoint presentation on the district plan. Special officers presented constituency-specific plans for all seven constituencies of NTR district, Vijayawada east, central and west, Nandigama, Jaggaiahpet, Tiruvuru and Mylavaram. Key areas of discussion included opportunities for growth in agriculture, industry, and services; progress indicators; tourism development; food processing; Zero Budget Natural Farming; Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs); and agricultural mechanization. Guidance was given on what to incorporate into the final plan, with a focus on achieving an average annual district growth rate of 18.5 percent. The Minister said there are excellent opportunities in the district for the growth agriculture, food processing and tourism sectors. He particularly mentioned about Mylavaram assembly constituency, which is well known for industrial growth as well as tourism development. Satya Kumar emphasised that P4 represents a pivotal step in good governance, and that plans were formulated to align with Swarnandhra's objectives. MP Kesineni Sivanath stressed that skill development is crucial to create sustainable job opportunities for youth. He highlighted the importance of setting up an automobile skill training center in Autonagar, Vijayawada and the need to establish new Eat Streets across Vijayawada. He urged support for aspiring entrepreneurs to set up food processing units, and advocated the optimal use of central schemes to achieve development goals. He pointed out the significant potential for growth in Vijayawada's service sector. Collector Lakshmisha stated that all suggestions made by public representatives would be duly considered for implementation. The meeting was attended by MLAs Sriram Rajagopal (Tatayya), Gadde Rammohan, K Srinivas Rao, and Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, Swachh Andhra Corporation Chairman K Pattabhiram, KDCC Chairman Nettem Raghuram, Joint Collector S Ilakkiya, Vijayawada Municipal Commissioner Dhyanchandra HM, and other officials.

Collector stresses timely selection of mentors for adopted ‘Golden Families'
Nandyal: District Collector G Rajakumari has directed officials to expedite the process of selecting mentors for the identified 'Golden Families' under the P4 initiative. The Collector emphasized that the selection process should be carried out efficiently to ensure timely support and guidance for the families aimed at economic upliftment. The directive came following a Zoom video conference held on Friday by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu with district collectors, ministers, and MLAs from the state secretariat in Vijayawada. During the meeting, the Chief Minister outlined a clear roadmap of actions to be taken under the Public-Private-People Participation (P4) model. He stated that the initiative aims to reduce economic disparities and enhance the overall quality of life for every citizen. The Chief Minister described the P4 model as a game-changer for the future, stressing the need to identify zero-poverty households and provide them with consistent support, guidance, and skill development opportunities. He urged that mentors must take personal responsibility in transforming these families into economically self-reliant units. He also announced the establishment of the 'Swarnandhra P4 Foundation,' which will focus on improving standards in education, healthcare, and livelihoods. The ultimate goal, he said, is to eliminate poverty in the first phase by 2029, calling on all stakeholders to dedicate themselves to this collective mission. After the video conference, Collector Rajakumari reaffirmed the district's commitment to implementing the P4 initiative effectively. She stated that all guidelines and instructions issued by the Chief Minister would be carefully followed to ensure the program's success at the grassroots level. Chief Planning Officer Venu Gopal and other key officials also participated in the meeting.

Two-Day Tourism Conclave Tech AI 2.0 commences in Vijayawada
VIJAYAWADA: The new tourism policy introduced by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is progressive, inclusive and investor-friendly, aiming to attract private investment and create world-class tourism experiences, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) Chairman Nukasani Balaji said. At the two-day 'Tourism Conclave Tech AI 2.0' that began in Vijayawada on Thursday, Balaji said Andhra Pradesh is entering a golden era of tourism-led development. The policy focuses on spiritual, coastal, ecological, adventure, and heritage tourism, supported by fast-track clearances and incentives. 'Our vision is to position Brand Andhra as a blend of tradition and innovation—a global destination for spiritual and experiential tourism,' Balaji said, adding that real-time smart technologies, improved accessibility, and eco-friendly practices are being introduced. APTDC is also set to sign key MoUs with private players to build integrated tourism infrastructure. Andhra Pradesh, he said, offers diverse experiences, from Buddhist heritage and serene beaches to wildlife sanctuaries and spiritual yatras. APTDC Managing Director (MD) Amrapali Kata said the government aims to attract `25,000 crore in private investment and increase classified hotel rooms from 4,500 to over 20,000. She noted that AP ranked fourth in domestic tourist arrivals in 2023, registering a 32% growth from 2022. The Chief Minister will launch Caravan and Caravan Parks on Friday, she added. Concluding her address, Amrapali quoted Naidu's statement: 'Capitalism, Communism, Socialism and all other 'isms' may become irrelevant, but tourism will remain the only relevant ism.' Swarnandhra P4 Foundation Vice-Chairman C Kutumba Rao said tourism holds vast direct and indirect employment potential, with each `1 crore investment generating significant job creation.
