Glastonbury headliner that doesn't exist has fans guessing at surprise artist

A mystery act called Patchwork will play the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury, but who are they? Fans take a guess at who the unknown artist could be, with theories including Lorde, Haim and Oasis The Glastonbury surprise headline is set to return this summer after the festival 's full timetable was revealed, with one act causing a wave of questions online. Why? Because nobody has heard of them! The mysterious Patchwork have been honoured on 2025's line-up: third line down on Saturday night's main Pyramid Stage. Fans, waiting in excitement, took to searching for the 'new' band, only to realise... they do not exist. ‌ The fake band name represents a mystery headliner, as seen in 2023 after The ChurnUps - completely unheard of - appeared on that year's Pyramid bill, only to be revealed on stage as the Foo Fighters. ‌ In a wave of speculation, fans started investigating the real identity of Patchwork. We've pulled together a list of the most talked about contenders for who Patchwork could be. Lorde Surprisingly not on the bill after her 'bratty' return, Lorde has launched herself back onto the charts with new song What Was That and iconic feature on Charli XCX's Girl, So Confusing. Celebrating it's one year anniversary, perhaps Patchwork will reveal the two popstars "working it out on the remix," but this time on the Pyramid stage. Lorde told BBC Radio 2's Jo Whiley this week she's "pretty keen" to return to Glastonbury's fields, while Charli is scheduled for another performance at 22:30 - 23:45. So, it's feasible the two could run to the main stage for the 18:00 - 19:00 Patchwork slot. Haim ‌ The American sister trio were deemed a strong contender by the BBC as they have both a new album and performance planned in Margate for Glastonbury's Friday. It is likely then for them to travel down to the Southern fields for Saturday's evening stage. Intriguingly, a few fans on X have have uncovered a German novel called Patchwork, 2011, by the author Sylvia Haim, along with a 2015 film on a young group of three women. X user, Tim Street, wrote: "My literary wife has pointed out that Patchwork is a novel by Sylvia Haim, suggesting the Saturday pyramid slot is none other than @HAIMtheband...." Whilst there's a solid possibility of the sister-band, Sylvia Haim, unfortunately, is not a long-lost relative. ‌ Help us improve our content by completing the survey below. We'd love to hear from you! Robbie Williams ‌ The BBC article also offered up the ex-Take That star as a potential Patchwork, including his new release of album Britpop as evidence. With his album's artwork featuring an old image of Williams playing at Glastonbury in 1995 - and the star's tour making headlines for taking over the Emirates stadium last week - it is easy to believe the Angels singer will appear... if it weren't for his tour show in Werchter, Belgium on June 28, Glastonbury's Saturday. Oasis Others have shared their hopes that Glastonbury's Pyramid stage may continue the Oasis reunion, believing the Gallagher brothers to launch their 'patching-up' early before their concert. This might be the wildest fan theory and, again, very unlikely considering Robbie's tour and the Oasis reunion occurring a week after the festival. Pulp The British pop icons who performed a secret set in 2011, have recently released their first album after 24 years. Fans have highlighted the huge gap in the band's schedule, conveniently around the Glastonbury period. An observational bunch also pinpointed the fact that, during an appearance on BBC Radio 2, band keyboardist, Candida Doyle, mentioned her love for her hobby: patchworking. And although their spokesperson has stated Pulp is not the mystery act, we have to wonder: are they bluffing?

Who is the mystery Glastonbury Patchwork guest? Fans think they have figured it out

It is one of the most fun parts of the Glastonbury lead up year after year. Trying to work out which major star could surprise us all with a performance on the Pyramid Stage. Each year organisers hold back on revealing every single detail on who we will see facing the stage, and 2025 is no different. But this year festival fans seem convinced that they have worked out who the mystery 'Patchwork' guest is on the 2025 line-up. The mystery guest plans to perform on the Pyramid Stage from 6pm to 7pm on the Saturday, and so far a number of big name stars and bands have been thrust into the pool of names being debated. Oasis, Mumford And Sons, Sam Fender, Harry Styles, and Lewis Capaldi have all been mentioned, and fans have their reasons for summarising their guesses. Named only as 'Patchwork' on the official line-up, it has led many to think that - despite their protests - it could be Oasis before they kick off their sold out arena tour this summer. One wrote: 'Patchwork? Oasis I know they've said no, but that doesn't carry a great deal of weight... Patchwork... Patching things up... might be a bit of a reach but MY GOD it would be good.' Others pointed to the book named 'Patchwork' by author Sylvia Haim, to suggest it would be the band HAIM while others were left convinced it was Pulp following the release of their latest album: Maybe even more clear a link: "Patchwork is a German book written by a novelist called Sylvia Haim" — Jamie (@BelishaBeacon25) June 3, 2025 @glastonbury @secretglasto My literary wife has pointed out that Patchwork is a novel by Sylvia Haim, suggesting the Saturday pyramid slot is none other than @HAIMtheband .... What do you think? #glastonbury2025 — Tim Street (@Tims_Pants) June 3, 2025 Hoping Patchwork are Pulp, but the connection to Haim seems quite solid. wondering are they that big a deal to be a secret act? Maybe I'm a bit old and just don't know what's hot 😂 — Surreynurse 🌱FBPE (@Surreynurse1) June 3, 2025 Also on the Pulp thing — Sparra (@andysparra) June 4, 2025 Other guesses included old favourites at Glasto, Coldplay: 'Patchwork' at Glastonbury - quite simple - the old favourites of course...#patchwork#coldplay#Glastonbury — Puffguin Esquire (@PuffguinEsquire) June 3, 2025 But some thought it would be a more out there option, such as Harry Styles, because of a famous outfit choice he once made: The secret is out. Remember THAT @JW_ANDERSON patchwork knit cardigan worn by THE @Harry_Styles? We're happy to confirm that the #TikTok trending sensation is joining our fashion collection in 2021. Read more here: — V&A (@V_and_A) November 21, 2020 My guess (the famous patchwork cardigan) — travelmeerkat (@travelmeerkat) June 3, 2025 Others were very honest by the fact that they simply do not have a clue: Me currently trying to figure out who Patchwork are…#Glastonbury #Glasto — Katey (@kateymania) June 3, 2025 So far it's...A book by Sylvia patching things up.A Wombats patchwork Styles patchwork to do with miss-shapes and with patchwork tattoos.A Mudford and Sons song that may or may not in all 🤷‍♂️ — The Glasto Thingy (@TheGlastoThingy) June 3, 2025 But at least fans now only have a few weeks left to wait and see. Glastonbury has revealed the line-up for this year's event as it announced the headline acts which include The 1975 and Olivia Rodrigo. Also on the bill is Biffy Clyro, Rod Stewart, Busta Rhymes, Raye, The Prodigy, Charli XCX and Nile Rodgers and Chic among others.

Glastonbury 2025: Music Fans Think They've Already Worked Out Who'll Be Doing A Surprise Set

With just weeks to go until this year's Glastonbury gets underway, music fans have been doing some detective work to try and decipher a mysterious act that has suddenly popped up on the line-up. On Tuesday morning, the full list of stage times for the upcoming festival was unveiled – including the presence of an intriguing act that no one seems to have heard of. At 6pm on the Saturday of the festival, the Pyramid Stage will be host to an hour-long set from an act called 'Patchwork', who hadn't previously been announced on the line-up. This put many fans in mind of two years ago, when an unknown band called 'The Churnups' were added to the schedule, later revealing themselves as the Foo Fighters doing a surprise set. And fans on Reddit and X already think they've cracked the code behind Patchwork's secret identity. One Reddit user claimed that Patchwork is the name of a German novel by the author Sylvia Haim, while it's also pointed out that it's also the title of a 2015 horror movie about a Frankenstein monster-esque creation made from the bodies of three women who come together to seek revenge on their killer. Both of these clues seem to point to Haim – the US three-piece made up of sisters Alana, Danielle and Este – making an appearance on the Pyramid Stage this year. Fuelling this is the fact that Haim will already be in the UK on Glastonbury weekend, with a one-off gig in Margate scheduled for the night before their rumoured Worthy Farm set. @glastonbury@secretglasto My literary wife has pointed out that Patchwork is a novel by Sylvia Haim, suggesting the Saturday pyramid slot is none other than @HAIMtheband .... What do you think? # — Tim Street (@Tims_Pants) June 3, 2025 @secretglasto Playing the Pyramid on Saturday 6pm-7pm are Patchwork!!! My guess is that it is Haim!! — David Lamb (@dlambo68) June 3, 2025 Patchwork: new Haim album is called 'I Quit', which isn't a million miles from 'quilt'' — Nicky Sonic (@DeadStarSonics) June 3, 2025 It's also been announced that there are a whopping 56 'TBA' markers on the current Glasto schedule, with everyone from Mumford & Sons and Pulp to Lewis Capaldi rumoured to be making surprise appearances at the festival later this month. Stand-outs on this year's Glastonbury line-up include HuffPost faves like Jade, Scissor Sisters, Charli XCX as well as the likes of The Libertines, The Prodigy and Alanis Morrissette. Olivia Rodrigo, The 1975 and Neil Young will all headline on the Pyramid Stage, while Sir Rod Stewart is due to appear in the coveted Sunday afternoon 'legends' slot.
