Lidl to release Monsieur Cuisine Smart 15-in-1 gadget
The Monsieur Cuisine Smart will be available to order via Click, Reserve, Collect on the Lidl Plus app. In a statement, the supermarket said: "Designed to do it all, the Monsieur Cuisine Smart is the ultimate kitchen allrounder, combining 15 different cooking functions into one single machine. "With innovative technology, the one hero device combines different attachments such as a cooking pot, mixer, steamer and more, with 10 speed settings and automatic programs for kneading, steaming, roasting and more. The device has more than 600 pre-installed recipes on it (Image: Lidl) "Cutting down cooking steps and saving space, this smart kitchen assistant allows everything from delicious fresh dishes to scrumptious baked goods to be prepared quickly and easily, taking the pressure off the everyday and the elaborate." The device also comes with more than 600 pre-installed recipes, which have instructions that can be accessed from its touchscreen. How to get Monsieur Cuisine Smart at Lidl It will be available to purchase for £299 (or £399 for non-Lidl Plus members) via Lidl's Click, Reserve, Collect service on Thursday, August 21. Lidl was set up in Germany in 1930 when Josef Schwarz became a partner in a company called Südfrüchte Großhandlung Lidl & Co. This had been established by Anton Lidl since at least 1858 under the name & Cie, specialising in the sale of exotic fruits. Schwarz renamed the company Lidl & Schwarz KG and expanded into a food wholesaler. In 1977, under his son Dieter Schwarz, the Schwarz Group began to focus on discount markets and larger supermarkets. Dieter wasn't keen on using his own name for this, as the name Schwarz-Markt translates to 'black market'. When he discovered a newspaper article about a painter and retired schoolteacher Ludwig Lidl, he bought the rights to the name from him for 1,000 German marks. From there, the Lidl name was used, and it expanded into many countries over time.

The supermarket is running a deal from its Lidl Plus app where members can take part in the Lidl bakery spin. From Thursday, July 31, to Wednesday, August 20, they'll have the opportunity to spin the wheel in the app to win a treat every time they shop in-store.
